A possible sighting, by a possible witness, in a possible town, that was a possible hot spot. Someone may have seen something maybe....

Well....if I were on my farm, and saw 2 guys that matched the description of 2 murderers on the run...I wouldn't be thinking about money...I'd be thinking about the safety of my family.

Can't take any of these tips too lightly. I can't imagine the frustration that LE is feeling, the roller coaster ride and total exhaustion. I know I'm feeling the anxiety sitting in front of a keyboard.

"Police continue to have a presence in the Town of Canisteo on Sunday, where escaped convict David Sweat’s grandmother lived on Bush Hill Road until her death two years ago at age 93, a local resident said.

A manhunt for Sweat and fellow escapee Richard Matt is underway in Friendship, which is about 40 miles from Canisteo.

Sweat’s mother, Pamela Sweat, now lives in Conklin, outside Binghamton, but other relatives may live in and around Canisteo, which is 50 minutes due east of Friendship, where the search has concentrated since Saturday."

They didn't show a plasma cutter or a torch which some have mentioned in the press as equipment possibly used. I'm familiar with a torch cut but not plasma cuts and it never looked like a torch was used to me. The sawzall (reciprocating saw) is a very common all around great tool for construction and remodeling which have different blades for wood and metal. The sawzall fitted with a hacksaw blade went through the pipe like nothing.

Canisteo is on the tracks between Gangs Mill and Friendship. In the Hornell area. It almost seems like they're traveling around visiting old friends and family.

DANNEMORA-Police sources tell chaucat.com that escaped murderers Matt and Sweat have reportedly been seen “near the prison”-Clinton County Correctional.
State police rapidly dismantled their search command post in Friendship, Allegany County, late Sunday afternoon following a fruitless 30-hour manhunt that involved as many as 300 officers from multiple federal, state and local agencies.
Now resources are moving to the area where the escape took place June 6 when stunned prison officials realized the pair had managed to escape from the maximum security facility.

It makes no sense at all that those two men would still be in the area of the prison, unless one or both of them were somehow incapacitated -- ill or injured.

Could LE just be saying that to throw the two escapees off in case they have access to the news? It seems that LE would hold their cards close to their chest.

Right. Make the reward a million dollars. Get them found and put an end to it.

But that could actually be counterproductive. Make everyone crazed to find them. And end up causing all sorts of issues.

I don't know how they are getting through. Do they have money? They can't get jobs. If they steal it, they could be reported. If they kill for it, eventually someone is going to miss those they killed.

I don't know...I think they had it pretty good behind bars. Now they are...well, can't use that word here. Seems like this is all just a huge mess that they have gotten themselves into and life ain't so easy now.
