We will be doing a story on Brian next month. Does anyone that knew Brian or was at the bar that night want to help? We just need some information to help with the article.

I read the article and it was very good, not radical new information, but pretty comprehensive. It mentioned something I read a couple of times to the effect that Brian's 'friend' and former roommate, and that night's drinking buddy, CF, was asked by a PI hired by the family to talk about what he knew. He had lawyer up and would only talk if granted immunity. Immunity from what? Obviously he knows something of significance. After reading the article I started to be quite certain that person must be the key. Then, I re-read another article that interviewed Brian's Dad. He talked about the resistance that he received from the bars Brian visited that night, and by the town security near the UTS to his putting out flyers in the area. It makes sense that the bar doesn't need bad PR, but it got me thinking. Where is he? I guess its possible he slipped away out of the lower level construction area. But why? Why would he care if cameras see him (dont buy that he was running away from anything)? It seems to me its more likely that he would have left that way if escorted by others who where guilty of something and didn't want to be seen. Immunity? Defensive security people? Hmmm.....I'm not sure I can link the article, its on an odd website, but rings like a legit interview. Google 'missingpiecesshow episode 64 Brian Schaffer'and you'll find it.

I would assume that LE looked at the footage that night to follow Brain's friends (as well as CF). Did CF "disappear" from the footage too, that night? I am talking about how there was no footage of Brian leaving UTS.

Hi Deca, that's a good question. I guess we're left with 1 there being footage of the friends leaving through the front on video(don't remember any mention) 2) leaving from the rear fire door, also on video, or 3 no video available of them leaving. That last one would be such a red flag, I would think there would have been some mention (?). I also think it's interesting that the only people who have any info about Brian after he was seen at the bar entrance on video are the two friends?! No one in the bar? He was a good looking guy, no girls noticed anything?

question and i am kinda catching up on this case so plz forgive me if this has been answered but how it there no video? Is it possible he is on video leaving and was missed somehow? did other exits not have cams or did the tape run out,or was it tampered with?if they are sure they didnt miss it,all exits have video and the tape didnt run out or get cut off then the only explanation is he did not leave the bar or at least not at that time.. have they looked at videos in the days following are there and boxes or large items being removed after he went missing

Hi there just, and welcome to the thread! I'm no expert on this case, but as I understand it the bar had three exits, one at the front with the escalator and video footage, one through the kitchen to the rear which was a fire door with a motion activated camera, and another down a freight elevator (I think) that let out at an alleyway/construction area next to the UTS, which has no video coverage. Also some have speculated that he could have jumped off the second floor balcony to the street below. This was postulated in an episode of 'Psychic Kids', but I think that would have been remembered by someone. I'm not sure about video days later. If you Google 'missingpiecesshow episode 64 Brian Schaffer' you'll find a pretty interesting interview with Brian's father, he mentions some interesting reactions from the security and UTS people.

Is Brian's Brother still searching for him? Tragic what happened to the Father.
This case is maddening - what happened to Brian? I strongly believe it was foul play.

I am rather baffled that the "friend" has not been looked into MUCH more aggressively. The whole wanting "immunity" thing is a HUGE red flag; the only reason to possibly bring up immunity is because you know something. I do feel he knows much more and probably holds a key to solving what happened to Brian.

Still a very baffling case.

Yeah, given how long it's been, I don't quite see why prosecutors wouldn't agree to a limited immunity grant along the lines of "As long as you're honest with us and answer our questions completely, we will not prosecute you for any illegal activity you admit to provided it does not include intentionally killing BS." See how he reacts to that. If he agrees to talk, my guess is that the immunity request is just re: drugs (probably sales given his apparent level of concern); if he doesn't agree to talk, well...

I think they probably would have already offered that type of immunity. Maybe that wouldn't give him the immunity he needed.

I would like to know how many times Clint called Brian's cellphone after Brian disappeared.
Just the one time?

I've been following this case for a few years now and something had crossed my mind back when I first read about the unsolved disappearance. A lot of the questions seem to involve the surveillance camera(s) that provided the last known images of Brian. That weekend was daylight savings time and I believe clocks were set ahead an hour. Now this incident happened late Friday night, early Saturday morning and clocks aren't usually set ahead till 2am Sunday morning. But what about the video tape surveillance and the digital time recorded on the tape? Is this set ahead at exactly the same time other clocks are set ahead or for some reason could this time have been set possibly during the hours of that evening in question (Friday/Saturday)? Could the hour that we "lost" because of the time difference possibly have been somehow removed from the video, either automatically by the video surveillance system taping over it or more sinisterly, by someone intentionally? I know absolutely nothing about how these type of video systems record or rerecord their information or who is in charge of their operating system?
I have no idea if this is at all possible or if it would even would have any bearing on the case but it has been weighing on my mind for a number of years now and I just wanted to put it out there for review.
