OMG, I just saw he's been arrested finally! I am so relieved they were on to him all along because so many of us knew, knew, knew it was him. He killed both Deanna and her Baby! Horrible man, I hope he pays to the max.

Thankful the Family of Deanna and Mabel will get some Justice. I was so sorry to hear Deanna's brother passed recently. Prayers of comfort and strength for the Family.

If they are alive to do so. I wonder if there have been other "overdose" deaths in the area, bodies of young women found in out of the way places that were dismissed as "just another junkie OD'd"

This guy creeps me out to no end.

Something for LE to be looking into, for sure.
 
His trial was supposed to have started May 7 but has apparently been postponed until Sept 3. Not sure why.
 
Ok I have read through all the posts and am a bit confused on the timeline. Maybe someone can help me.
1) was it confirmed she had modeled for him before?
2) was he possibly the father of the unborn baby and that was his motive?
3) how long had she been in in town before her death?

My heart hurts for this mother and her baby. This poor lady's family. . . How much more do they need to endure? I can't fathom the secrets that house holds. And the mystery woman heard on the phone holds the key to break this thing WIDE OPEN. If he won't talk, the only way to know who else he victimized is to find her IMO.
 
There never was a suggestion that this guy was the father of her baby. There is no possibility of that whatsoever. She only recently moved to OH.
 
I'm having trouble reconciling the early reports that her autopsy showed no signs of trauma yet the this new article says that "Assistant county prosecutor Kyle Rohrer said Salim treated Ballman's body 'in a very inhumane way,' but wouldn't elaborate on how."

Perhaps they were just holding back until they could gather more evidence. It just seems odd though.

That bothered me also. Paired with his charge of Abuse of a Corpse, I'm almost scared to know what he did to her.
 
Salim's life was full of drama in the months before his encounter with Ballman, according to police records obtained by the AP, prosecutors' statements and interviews with Delaware County sheriff's investigators.

In September 2010, Salim told police his house had been burglarized with the help of a female heroin addict he'd been trying to help get treatment.

He refused to cooperate with investigators despite losing three TVs, two laptops, $500 in cash and credit cards, and the case was placed on inactive status, according to a Columbus police report.

In April 2011, a woman who answered one of Salim's Craigslist ads called 911 to report an assault at Salim's address. ‘I came to a gentleman's house, and he accosted me,’ she said.
Eight months later, in early December, aspiring model Gabrielle Roush answered what she thought was a legitimate modeling ad: $400 to let Salim paint the human digestive system on her abdomen for what he said was a work assignment.

But Roush, accompanied by her future father-in-law, turned down the job after Salim insisted she be in the house alone while he worked.

‘He said, "As long as you don't cause drama, you can do this for me,"' recalled Roush, 21, a college student in Columbus, whose meeting with Salim and call to police came long before Ballman's death and Salim's arrest.
The following July, a woman was sexually assaulted at Salim's house, according to a report she filed with police a month later, after Ballman's death.

Creepy creep doctor. They never found out who else was there, but there were reports of a woman's voice in the background on Deanna's phone call. Someone else knows what happened, IMO.

There's good pics with this article. Deanna and Mabel deserve Justice.

The family of an expectant mother has filed a $40 million lawsuit against the former doctor accused of raping and killing her, the Ohio hospital where he worked and Craigslist, where they met.

They are suing the hospital because he took the syringes from there, seems a stretch.

They say Craigslist should have known he was dangerous because other women reported problems with him.

Lawyers today tend to go after everyone and that includes of course where they suppose the money is. They'll tack on 10 if necessary to get the big bucks, because that's the nature of the game in the United States and the legal system today. If anyone deserves however anything, it should be her children in trust for her. The doctor himself probably will file for bankruptcy and protect his assets and that is why they are going after the hospital too.

They'd go after the syringe makers if indeed, they thought they needed to.

I hope this guy goes to prison for life , he's very dangerous to women.
 
Thrilled there is finally an arrest. However why is such a dangerous person on house arrest? :stormingmad:
 
There has been no new news on this in quite some time. I read somewhere that the trial has been postponed until Oct.
