She went missing without her ID and cell phone. She was at home with her kids and sister. She went outside to get something from her car while her sister went upstairs to check on the kids in bed. Sister came down and realized Lachelle had not come back inside the house.
Ok, that is the worst case scenario....

Regrading the fire and victim:
Woman dies after being found with gunshot wound in house fire at Caine Avenue in Cleveland
A woman has died after being found with a gunshot wound in a house fire in Cleveland on Tuesday morning.
Cleveland Fire responded to the fire in the 138th block of Caine Avenue at approximately 9:46 a.m. Upon entry, they discovered a woman with a gunshot wound to the head.
Cleveland Fire told 3News' Isabel Lawrence that the female victim was removed from the home and transported to MetroHealth. She was later pronounced deceased.

The Cleveland Division of Police told Lawrence that the incident is being investigated as a suicide.

Unbelievable and unacceptable!
This is most likely due to the strong voicings of the 'innocent until proven guilty' sect. You keep ALL your rights... even around children. IMO this needs to change in todays world. Where is the protection for the 'victims'? Criminals and 'possible' guilty criminals have ALL the rights in todays world... and more than likely are committing more crimes until either locked up or trial has come and gone, which now takes WAYYYYYY too long.

@Kakidoll I agree, I am a believer of innocent until proven guilty however if he is being paid for this coach job, he could have been put on paid leave to protect until this is resolved. Lachelle had a protection order against him and he continued to follow her and she had stated that acquaintance's of his also followed her, he should have been picked up on going against the protection order, he even stalked her 2 days before she went missing. He didn't get arrested for stalking etc. until after she went missing. Huge errors IMO

particularly since City's policy is that an employee charged with a felony be placed on unpaid leave. the problem lies with the bolded portion and needs to be addressed immediately MOO

CLEVELAND — Until News 5 Investigators started asking questions, a Cleveland recreation instructor accused of raping a former co-worker was still working with kids and teens, despite a city policy stating employees facing felony charges should be placed on unpaid administrative leave.
[snip]
The Cleveland human resources policy says any city employee facing felony charges should be put on unpaid administrative leave. However, there are two loopholes. The policy also says it is up to the employee to report the charges. The policy also says an "Appointing Authority" can allow the employee to continue working if it's determined charges do not interfere with the employee's job duties.
He's been charged with rape. So why was he still working at a Cleveland recreation center?

Yes, the fact he had enough influence to be allowed to continue to violate the protection order is a problem, JMO. Someone needs to be held accountable for that. Someone needs to pull his texts, emails, phone calls, etc. to see who he was contacting.

There seemed to be more than enough justification to put him on administrative leave. Rape charges against someone in charge of children is bad enough. Violating protection orders to keep him from harassing a witness worse. JMO

While I commend judges who try to avoid criminalizing poverty by jailing people for unpaid parking tickets, expired licenses, etc. those standards should never be applied to violent criminals, including rape and sexual assault. Ever. JMO

what is both sad AND infuriating is that Lachelle left HER job at Zelma Watson George Recreation Center because she couldn't bear to look at this man who was accused of raping her every day at work.

This suggests to me that SHE probably reported this situation to the "Appointing Authority" and I want to know who that person is because they should no longer hold that position if they allowed him to stay after being informed of his charges of assaulting a fellow City employee AT work.

She said Stennett sexually assaulted her inside his office at the rec center on Aug. 10, 2021.

"He took a piece of me away," she said.

"The system is just slapping you in the face," she said about Stennett's continued employment after his indictment.

She said it sent her the message "that what I went through doesn't matter."

Stennett's accuser said she and Stennett were friendly prior to August 10, 2021. On that evening, she said they were locking up the rec center after a storm knocked out power. She said Stennett then asked her to watch a video in his office and raped her.

She immediately went to the hospital for a sexual assault forensic examination and filed a police report two days later.
He's been charged with rape. So why was he still working at a Cleveland recreation center?

Her sister told police that Lachelle Jordan has a court case against a man named Michael Stennett and was scheduled to testify against him on Wednesday.

A family member told CBS affiliate WOIO-TV that Lachelle Jordan was expected to testify in a rape case involving Stennett, 65. He was indicted in 2022 on two counts of rape and one count of abduction, WOIO reported.

ADMIN NOTE:

Although Stennett has not been officially named by LE as a POI/suspect in Lachelle's disappearance, he is the accused in a rape case, and that case against him is publicly available. Based on other information available it isn't rocket science to consider she is very possibly/probably somehow involved in the case against him, whether as THE victim or witness.

This is one of those situations where a thread specific exception is made, that although LE has not officially announced Stennett to be a POI or suspect in the missing person's disappearance, it is pretty obvious he is, at the very minimum, a POI under consideration by LE.

Sleuthing Stennett as a POI in relation to this case is being allowed.

Snipped: “Lachelle is my fourth daughter out of six. She is a twin, which is probably the hardest thing her sister is going through right now. They have been together for their whole lives,” said her father.

Snipped: Although police towed away three of Stennett’s cars, they say right now, they are not connecting him to Lachelle’s disappearance

''The Cleveland Police Department has asked the public to help find a Cleveland EMT worker who's missing and may be in danger.

Authorities said that 30-year-old Lachelle Jordan has been missing since May 6 and was last seen near Fairport Avenue in Cleveland.
Searching for missing Indigenous women, tribes and lawmakers seek to raise awareness
Authorities said that at the time of her disappearance, Jordan was last seen wearing "a blue and white East Cleveland Fire Department sweatshirt with ECFD on the back and the Fire logo on the front, green and white tie dye pants and rainbow-colored Croc shoes."

Mark Barrett, president of the Cleveland EMS Union, told ABC News that Jordan was a new employee and had filed reports with her job that she was being stalked.

Jordan's job removed her from the truck where she worked and brought her to headquarters due to safety concerns for her and her co-workers, Barrett said.''

Days before Jordan's disappearance, Cleveland prosecutors charged 65-year-old Michael Stennett with stalking and violating an order of protection, according to a Cleveland Municipal Court case summary document.

''A family member of Jordan's told Cleveland 19 News that Jordan was going to testify in a rape case against Stennett, who was indicted on two counts of rape and one count of abduction in May 2022, according to Cuyahoga County court records.

Cleveland police said currently there isn't any evidence connecting Stennett to Jordan's disappearance, according to Cleveland 19 News.''

Although police towed away three of Stennett’s cars, they say right now, they are not connecting him to Lachelle’s disappearance.

“As a father, I want to say, if you have my daughter, give her back to me. That would take away the hurt, that would take away the pain, that would take away the sorrow,” said her father.

Crimestoppers is offering the $5,000 reward for information that brings Lachelle home safely.

“Our family wants our daughter, our sister, our mother. We want her home, that’s what we want. We want her home,” Joseph Jordan told the crowd.

Stennett is being held in the Cuyahoga County Jail on $100,000 bond.

Lachelle’s father says he supports the Cleveland police and their investigation. Joseph Jordan says he understands a lot of information is being withheld because investigators do not want to jeopardize the case.
