Right now it's coming down to do you trust the Rhodens or do you think they are behind this (otherwise known as we've come full circle.) Of course that could change overnight. The family I would like to hear more about is missing.

Do you mean the Manleys, instead of Rhodens?

Recall LM and BJM were the first ones to point out that the Rhodens had vicious dogs that would attack strangers. They said from the beginning that the killers had to be someone who knew the family. That's like pointing the finger at themselves. If they were so dumb as to incriminate themselves with information given to LE, how could they mastermind a mass murder?

One statement that Len made brings into the validity of the search warrant. The search warrant, from my understand, is that the truck could have been used in a murder. Len stated that he didn't even own the truck when the family was killed. Here is the correct wording;

The warrant, signed by Pike County Common Pleas Judge Timothy S. Hogan, indicated authorities believe the truck was “used as a means of the commission of the crime’’ of aggravated murder. Or it was in the possession of another person with the intent to use the vehicle as a means of committing the crime, the warrant stated.

From what I undstand he removed the device because they thought someone other than LE had put it on there.

That's why I'd be like LM, and JM. I'd be heated too if that's all that they had to show me after they'd stuck a tracking device on my truck. What did they think that the truck was going to tell them? Was it going to take over the steering wheel and drive them to the home of the murderer? It's a 20 year old truck. There's not much it can tell you other than what kind of tire treads it leaves behind. Now warrant to perform a cast of its treads, that I could understand.

You mentioning fights made me think of something. Remember the guys who were out joyriding and said that the Rhodens were out patrolling the road with baseball bats and firearms? That was just about a week and a half before the murders. We then learn that JW asked HMR to sign over her rights to their child, about two weeks before the murders. Reckon keeping check on the road was a show of force (Rhoden strong) to send a message JW? We only heard about that one day. Just speculating.

We have only JW's word on what time he picked SR up. How do we know it was 10:30 PM and not 2:00 AM? Then again who says they were all alive when he left with SR?

And once the prosecutors and LE get JM's case behind closed doors in a grand jury, will JW be one of the people they call to testify? Is that one of the reasons they want a GJ, to protect the more well to do family(s) in the area who might know something about the Rhoden murders?

Wouldn't surprise me in the least. I've seen it happen. Wealth walked. I've not made up my mind on JM yet, but I'm not ready to say, "guilty", with what have.

So you're saying you think LM and his son and daughter killed his other daughter and grandkids? We've had this discussion before. What's the motive? How were they able to execute such a flawless mass murder that it's been keeping LE stymied for over a year?

I did not say that. I said I agreed that I think that someone is a lot smarter than they appear to be.

It seems it's come down to, the Manleys are all they ever had and they are staying with them whether there's motive or not. I was surprised today to learn just how much the family has been interrogated and scrutinized in the last year.

I need a break down of the last 10 hours or so. Highlights, anything developed?

IMO, there's been a lot going around in that Co for a long, long, time. I read somewhere that the W's were connected to P&G in Cincinnati? They had a barn fire that killed some of those beautiful horses a few years back.
Influencial (SP)/Wealthy family.
Drugs/dealers
Cars/New/Used?
Murders
Hmmmm.... sure does sound like something big!

Dang. That sounds nearly like the Appalachian version of The Sopranos.

To add, LM appears to have a razor sharp memory about the details of every slight he feels has been committed against his family, but when asked who JM bought the truck from (in March), he said "a friend, I don't remember" and then was whisked off quickly by AM.

I agree with that. I noticed it and it's been niggling at me today. That was a pretty obvious fib.

Do you remember when we learned JW said he came by at 10:30 PM? An approximate date would be nice. I need to do some time travel.

JM appeared in court, bail was posted. Judge said next step will be a hearing on May 22 when prosecutors will present probable cause for the tampering, destroying property (GPS tracker). Judge also said these cases usually go to a grand jury after that.

JM made bail and was released. LM went on a rant after JM's hearing outside the court and said JM sent a text to JW at 8 or 9 pm night of murders, JW didn't receive it until 2AM. Also said his daughter in law texted DR about 1am the night of the murders. Accused LE of mishandling the case, gave example that it took them 3 times going into Chris Jr.s bedroom before they realized his body was there between the bed and wall.

I may have forgotten some stuff, anyone else?

Ok we have to remember that everyone's got their own opinions on what happened and even though we have a little more information, it's not really pointing to anyone in particular. Everybodys trying to figure out what's going on. My point when talking about the Manley's is "why" are LE on their backs? I don't think their just playing games with them. I don't want to think someone's own family would do something so very terrible to their loved one's either. But I'm sorry to say it happens. Seems more so today than yesterday. We have drugs involved in this to, people on drugs have been know to do unthinkable things to other people. I think LE in starting to push people in hopes someone gets scared or nervous/mad enough that someone starts talking. They said they would twice already and now their following through. Thing is we don't know what is really going on, were just guessing.

My comment was misinterpreted. I LM is a lot smarter than he appears to be. He appears to have a razor sharp memory on many things and that is most definitely a sign of intelligence. Unfortunately, in today's interview, he couldn't remember the name of the friend of JM who sold the truck to JM. That only matters for those of us who are curious. I'm sure LE knows who owned the truck prior to JM, and it may or may not be pertinent to this case. My guess is that it is pertinent to the case, and that is because of the warrant.

That said, I would agree that LE (meaning BCI who was in charge since day 1) appears to have focused on JM and also BJM. I think BCI has tried multiple ways to shake information out of them that they believe will help them solve the murders. It doesn't appear they have had any luck on this yet.

I personally do NOT think that any of the Manley's committed the murders. But the fact is, someone did. I think LE (BCI) believes JM and perhaps AM and BJM knows more than what they are willing to say. I don't know what LM knows. But I do think LM is intelligent and I also think he is trying to control things in his own way, through media interviews, etc. in an attempt to protect his family.

I also believe that with BCI running the case, the element of past or current local injustices, issues with the wealthy being in control, etc. is pretty much off the table. BCI has a job to do and that is to solve these murders.

Didn't these people ever sleep? And is it usual to start a job at 8am and finish at 11pm?

IIRC DR was working an extra shift because a co-worked didn't work that day. I think is was something she hadn't planned on, but maybe she knew in advance.

As for the late hours -- I'm a night owl as is my best friend, it would not be at all unusual for us to talk/text/email each other after midnight.

Anyone else having trouble with the way this thread is working tonight? I can't or don't have the "thanks" opinion.

When I work long hours or until late at night I am pretty wound up when I get home. Even though I might be exhausted I usually stay up for several hours.

I don't understand it at all. The only people with a clear (to me, anyway) motive is JW and apart from the big spectacle of the searches, LE does not seem to be leaning on them. Wouldn't they have been told to stay in the state while the investigation is ongoing?

A lot of people in nursing and nurse's aids work long shifts but only work a few days a week. MY SIL used to schedule nurses at a hospital. Twelve hour shifts were common for nurses to work at the hospital se did...
