I agree 100%. After a year they say they have made big progress but still can't name a POI or possible motive. The whole investigation is just bizarre... Why did they wait till the Wagners moved to concentrate on them? If they have cooperated as their attorney says, they have had all they need all along or have nothing on them. They are still fishing for a chance to accuse them. BCI is looking incompetent. The secrecy is looking like a coverup. I still wonder if they will expose a large undercover operation if they solve it. Or expose some prominent names doing illegal things. It is getting ridiculous...They said there was video from a camera in a birdhouse and other sources but nothing they can use?

JMO, it may also be a little psychological "projection" or possibly a warning. Of the parties related to this investigation, the extended W family had the most money and power in the area. If any illegal activity was ongoing, they may have been among those involved in bribing or otherwise corrupting local LE. Maybe it was a warning to LE that they'll reveal what they know. Since W family and their holdings are spread out over 2 or 3 different counties, it could have an impact.

There are innocent people sitting on death row. I've got a goto lawyer, and I want her to fight tooth and nail, if/when I need her for whatever I need her for, or direct me to someone better suited, within the firm, for that particular need.

The criminal defense atty. knows the intricacies of the law, their clients usually do not, and if you are placed in the position of needing a criminal attorney, those are some scary waters. There has to be compelling facts for probable cause to be met, and probable cause must be met, in order for you to be arrested, and charged, with a crime.

A criminal defense attorney is there to ensure that their client's rights are not being violated, and that their client is not just being harassed. Obviously Reader, nor anyone else, as of yesterday, has enough of anything to bring charges against the Ws or the Neither Dewine, nor Reader, have yet to come out and call anyone in the W family, a person of interest, let alone a suspect (they aren't even calling JM a suspect or poi).

If they don't have enough on the Ws, to even call them persons of interest, yet make announcements that got sent out nationwide, as to locating their whereabouts, (like they couldn't hire a local fifth grader to find that out), and announce that they want to find anyone who may have had any dealings with them, over a year after the murders, then they may have come close to harassment. If there are any lawyers out there please correct me if I'm wrong.

This is bringing out nut jobs. Some guy went onto the property, of the new owners, on Peterson, where a No Trespassing sign was clearly posted (he filmed it), and trespassed. Wandered all around the property, went in the barn, showed his face for the camera, etc... Felt he'd done nothing wrong b/c he was "investigating" a crime. Only problem is, he's not LE. Just a joker w/a camera, trespassing onto the new owners property.

If I were in the Ws position, I'd want the best, bulldog, hotshot, criminal attorney, that I could afford. Reader, and Dewine, either need to get it together and call the Ws persons of interest, name them as suspects, or get up off the pot, and find the information they need to make that call, be it the Ws, or some other group of folks.

Thus far this has been a secretive, strange, unsettling, and very nearly libelous, investigation, and I don't blame anyone for lawyering up if that secretive bunch comes sniffing at their door. They aren't even letting folks see the full search warrants that they're serving them. They've all been sealed. They can't keep track of what they tell the public from one day to the next, Reader seems to be a good guy, but I'm not so sure he's got the bad apples all picked off his tree, and Adams County has had their share of bad LE press too. If they don't already have additional help with this that we're not seeing, I think that it might be time to call in the cavalry.


The lawyers statement pretty much meant, in my interpretation, for Reader and Dewine, to either put up, or shut up. They could get that family killed and what if little S or Bw were there? What if they are in fact innocent? The Ws might be guilty as sin but thus far we've not seen one shred of evidence from LE that would convict them in a court of law, they don't even have enough to call them a poi. Reader and Dewine have given the public nothing but the s.o.s. just served up on a different plate every few weeks.

Sorry for the book. Can't sleep, and annoyed at the spinning wheels of this investigation. This case is the first thing I check on in the morning and the last thing I look at before I go to sleep, not to mention checking in throughout the day. :gaah:

Reader in particular seems sketchy. From his first statement which shocked LE across the nation when he told the Rhoden family to arm themselves (what LE officer tells civilians to snatch up their guns and maybe shoot some innocent person because they are jumpy about their relatives being murdered?) he has came off as some right wing nut job.

Then he goes off on a rant on some reporter which came off as being unprofessional to say the least.

Now this latest announcement about gang members coming to kill the snitches which the Scoito county sheriff and the Ohio drug task force directly contradicted.

He is beginning to sound like some scared hysterical alarmist.

Then we have Dewine.

Dewine sounds like Mike Brady from the Brady Bunch movie in person. (Where ever you go that's where you are. Your father is right kids.)

I've a feeling that video from that camera, in a birdhouse, looks like most of the bigfoot videos I've seen. If they had a single thing that was concrete, they could have filed criminal charges against the Ws, and the Ws could not have left the state. I think Granny W is right, they have nothing. They focused on JM and BJM from the git go, and LM says "custody thang", and let's put the Ws on the focus too. A year later, and all of those sealed search warrants, and nothing. What's going on with the release of the final autopsies? Not that I feel they're my business, but one more big secret. Agree. I do think that Reader is trying but, as a small town Sheriff with a small amount of folks on his team, I think he's out of his depth. Dewine, on the other hand, after this public debacle over the past year? I'm with you, I'd not vote for him for dog catcher, either, he probably couldn't even catch one.

I can understand keeping some vital info a secret. But, where there has not been enough released to even prove a crime was committed, It gets to be a bit much. With three "commercial" grow operations claimed and not even a leaf much less a plant shown to the public. Apparently, two different guns were used but nothing about them released so people could say I found one like that or I bought one like that. The more I think about it the more ridiculous it seems...

The absolute secrecy of everything is amazing. It is like they are trying to keep the public from helping solve it. I read that even the court orders to seal court orders are sealed... It can't help but look like a coverup or something else shady...

Makes me wonder if they towed BJM's vehicle? Probably not or LM would have mentioned it was towed too. JM may have been exhibiting some unusual behavior that caused LE to think this guy was acting fishy.

I think the killers left the babies in the death beds and did not remove them. Putting the children back would ensure that more DNA could be left and also more blood on the killers' hands and clothing. Just my opinion.

Someone mentioned balaclavas and I agree the killers probably wore them and were dressed in all black. Two people enter the trailers, and they go straight to the bedrooms, position themselves at the foot of the bed, one killer flips on the ceiling light and they both fire away. Alternatively they could have been wearing headlamps so as not to have to use or touch the light switch.

If 4 people were involved, 2 people killed at one trailer and the other 2 take out another trailer. Get the majority of the murders done and lessen the chance of someone calling 911. There may have even been 6 killers for the first 3 trailers - probably my least likely choice.

I'm confused. So Jake was to return Sophia on Friday the 22nd and he missed the murders by a few hours and just showed up at the house after the fact?

I don't think they are going to release what caliber of weapon or weapons were used. That is something only the killer(s) would know. I think LE is trying to find out what caliber of weapons the W's owned to match with whatever shell casings they recovered, or bullets in case of a revolver. Sure could be wrong though! Wouldn't be the first time nor the last.

First time I have seen a specific number of evidence collected...

DR's home looked much nicer than the other 3 homes. Someone close to her could have been jealous of her $30,000 home.

Officials disclosed that they had discovered three marijuana grow operations at the crime scenes, from which they collected some 200 plants. The extent of the haul, with a worth estimated at $500,000, suggests that the cannabis was being grown for distribution rather than personal use.

$500,000 is a good amount! People who are in the selling business rarely partake of the product. That's just good business sense.

I wonder if Reader was told to stay out of it. That BCI would handle everything. He may be trying to get things stirred up again since nothing is happening and it is in his jurisdiction. I've always thought there'd be a movie about these murders but there may be a second one about how the investigation was handled...

From what I have read on different sites and this one, my impression of AW is she wears the pants in the family. An old expression meaning she's "in charge" of the family. Children home schooled, question's of maybe a "cult like" church/religion on the elder W's property. Elder W's owning vast properties/businesses having a lot of influence in the community and adjoining counties. AW has been discribed as a strong willed person, most of the article's written about the W's lately have come from her point of view, it makes me think she is the one in charge of her family. There seems to be some kind of distance between the Elder W's and AW's family, but IMO the Elder W's are keeping out of it mostly for their grand and great grand children.
Every time I watch a crime show that involves a family style murder/murders I listen and observe why they did it, hoping to gain insight into this crime. I watched one a couple of weeks ago about a mother and son and his ex-wife. There was a child involved in the situation also. The mother was very controlling of the son and had been since he was a child. The mother gets the idea to kill the daughter in-law because she feels the ex is inferior to her family and not good enough to be raising her granddaughter. And the son obey's his mother just like he always has (program indicated that mother and son were very close). Only this woman was truly devious! She took out an insurance policy on her daughter-in-law right after the son had divorced her. So they not only ended the ex's life, but tried to financially profit from her death! Some people are true evil!

If they keep retracting and scrubbing everything from the news articles, maybe eventually they will retract the murders themselves. We will all wake up one day questioning whether we dreamed the last year and a half on here. I think I will go join the R's on whatever beach they are laid up on.

Seriously, I say this tongue in cheek but....we have seen no photos of any bodies being removed, roads sealed off and no media within a mile of the crime scenes, no autopsy reports, children tucked out of sight in CPS custody, court records involving children sealed, no photos of MJ plants being removed, crime scenes sealed up tight in a warehouse out of the view of the public, search warrants sealed, court orders ordering the sealing of the search warrants sealed, no POI, no suspects, no press releases and Mike Brady er excuse me Dewine talking in circles leading us through a non ending maze of confusion, Reader warning anyone who talks they will be killed by gang members....this is beginning to look like the Twilight Zone.

I really am questioning whether the R's were ever killed, or just made to disappear into a witness protection program with RR and baby K.

I am shaking my head so much hubby is beginning to question if I have something medically wrong.
