Well I was talking about an actual position of a full time coronor. A county that size could have one, but also the coronor is usually a practicing doctor seeing patients because they don't have need of a full time coronor.

A full time coronor or a ME is quiet different than a practicing doctor that does autopsies when needed. The Hamilton County one was then probably the BCI rep.

I live in the county beside Pike and our coroner is also an Obstetrician. He delivered my son.
The Pike county coroner works for Adena in Waverly. He's a family doctor.

Pike County Multiple Homicide Investigation with release of 9-1-1 audio
4/23/2016
(PIKETON, Ohio)—Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and Pike County Sheriff Charles Reader are releasing recordings of the 9-1-1 calls made to the Pike County Sheriff's Dispatcher April 22, 2016 in the ongoing investigation into the execution-style killings of eight members of the Rhoden family in Pike County

I can't remember where we read it earlier this week, but the article said area Sheriff Depts were working together with Pike County. In Scioto County the execution of Candy Newsome and her daughter hasn't been solved, so I'm sure all area Depts are wanting this handled before it spreads to any other county.

Before it spreads? Someone posted that the Sheriff of Scioto County said that the 2 crimes were absolutely not related.

I always thought 911 keeps callers on the line until LE arrives?
Generally when there is a dangerous situation or you are calling for help of someone hurt, they do. If they had known about at least 4 people dead there they might have.

And who could possibly have TOLD Leonard that? JMO

JUst bugs me ....why are you (BJ) telling anyone and everyone that the door was locked and you have a key??

Sheriff is aasking all Ohio sheriffs for assistance, Need more LE for security.

I'm sure they're overwhelmed and apparently have reason to worry about security.

Why not call in the Ohio National Guard? They're helpful in these kinds of situations. Most counties are dealing with ongoing budget cuts, thanks to Governor Kasich's tax cuts. They can't spare much for overtime expenses, etc. for deputies.

I've never heard of this kind of request before, has anyone else?

No I was just talking to hubby about it. How long can this go on? Why can't our governor do some kind of emergency (temporary) hiring of more Pike County deputies? I know sheriffs who are trying to work their county while helping in Pike County. Something needs to be done IMO.

Not asking for state wide help I havent.
This just escalated my suspicions. Maybe 1, 2 or more shooters but there is something bigger behind it.
Why else all the man power? STATEWIDE requested......
National guard may in fact be next.........

Just a thought...maybe there was more than 1 type of bullet casings found because those who were murdered used a firearm in self defense...just an idea

No guns were found at the scene though. If they had been, LE would have suspected murder-suicide. I guess is is possible that a weapon was used for self defense and then taken by the killers. But I still think there had to be 2 killers because there were at least 2 people in each residence (except Kenneth), and the killer(s) knew it.

I think om the 911 call the dispatcher asked her what had happened. BJM was just answering. But I could be wrong.

This is the first time I have ever seen a ME give their sympathy and condolences before releasing part of the autopsy.

She is from Cincinnati and is excellent. Her biography is quite impressive and she is also involved with the community and volunteers at several places. I'm not surprised at all that she gave sympathy. She is genuine.

There you go.. That's what I'm talking about. Those are usually for the basic cases.

It looks like for the killings they included the coronor for Pike.

So that's what they were doing. [emoji20]

Now I would be shocked no guns found at the scene of people that hunt enough to own hunting dogs.

There is so much stuff on that property. I wonder if they feel the need to cover every inch of it?

No the trucks were at the Rhoden property, they showed them driving up and leaving.

The AG said they weren't going to discuss more than they were their to secure the scene.
