[.....]
Recently, the special prosecutor in the case turned over more than 80 GB of information to the defense and lawyers say they won't have enough time to review all of that before Novoa's scheduled trial date a month from now.

Was wondering how this was going to go. Judge D'Apolito is retiring and new judge takes over in January. I have a feeling this might drag on for a while yet.

Your feeling is right @JanetElaine - unfortunately. Change of judge per this article.

Trial for man accused of killing, dismembering ex-girlfriend likely to be delayed again

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) - It's been more than a year since the body of a west side Youngstown murder victim was discovered and, soon afterward, suspects arrested and charged. Now it seems the trial date for the suspects could be getting pushed back again, to next year.

It still needs to be set officially but it's looking more and more likely that the trial of those charged in the murder of Shannon Graves will now be heard next spring and by a new judge.
[.....]
With the pending retirement of Judge Lou D'Apolito in a couple of months, sources now believe it's likely the trial will have to be heard by incoming Judge Anthony Donofrio, who takes over in January.

To date, four people have been charged, Novoa, Andrew Herrmann, his wife Michelle Ihlenfeld and Katrina Leyton, who pled guilty to her charges last April and is expected to testify against the others.

All of this could be set when all sides return to the courtroom next month for another pretrial hearing.

The DePaul family says they understand this is a very complex case.
[.....]
One of the reasons behind the delay was the assignment of special prosecutors from the Ohio Attorney General's Office, who have told the judge they've recovered a virtual mountain of potential evidence, including cell phone and social media records.

As the case is pushed back, Novoa, Herrman and Ihlenfed will remain behind bars.

"That's what counts. They're not out on the street, you know, on bond or nothing. They're still gonna stay in jail," said Ronnie DePaul, Graves' father.

According to my notes - all of Novoa & Herrmann will be in court on 11/15, but Ihlenfeld is in court 11/13.
