*Pretrial Hearing (@ 10:30am ET) - OH - Shannon Elizabeth Graves (28) (Missing Feb. 2017; Found in freezer July 2017) – only for Arturo Novoa (31) indicted (8/8/17) with aggravated felony murder, felony murder, 3 counts of tampering with evidence (F3), obstructing justice (F3) & abuse of corpse (F5) (found in Arturo’s friend’s freezer). Plead not guilty; held on $1M bond.

Trial was set for Oct. 10, 2017; trial delayed to March 5, 2018 and then delayed to Aug. 6, and on 7/5/18 delayed to 10/22/18. Next hearing 9/7, jury trial 10/22/18. (Case# -856).
9/1/18 Update: A Mahoning County grand jury indicted Arturo Novoa, 32, Andrew Herrmann, 27, & Michelle Lee Ihlenfeld, 27 on 48 counts relating to the death of Shannon Elizabeth Graves. Novoa already faces an aggravated-murder charge in the death of Graves.
Hermann and Ihlenfeld, along with Novoa, face counts of tampering with evidence, abuse of a corpse, possession of criminal tools, theft of WIC program benefits, intimidation, obstruction of justice, grand theft of a motor vehicle, drug trafficking & engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity. Ihlenfeld was charged by the grand jury with threatening someone between Aug. 13 and Aug. 15 of this year. Herrmann and Ihlenfeld are not yet in custody.
9/4/18 Update: Plead not guilty to new charges. Charged with 2 counts of aggravated murder, 2 counts of murder, 6 counts of tampering with evidence, 3 counts of abuse of a corpse, 2 counts of obstruction of justice. Plead not guilty to all charges. Next hearing 9/7, trial starts (2 dates) 9/10 (Case# 00850) & 10/22 (Case# 00856).
Katrina L. Layton charged with same charges had 2/9/18 pretrial hearing and pled guilty in deal to abuse of corpse & obstruction of justice; will get probation as long as she cooperates & testifies against Novoa at trial. She is out of jail (3/28/18) on a $20K bond own recognizance; next hearing 10/29. 4/24/18: Accused of contacting witnesses; Defendant advised that an additional condition of her bond is absolutely no contact w/any witness on case except her mother. Def. ordered to deactivate & refrain from using any social media accounts. Bond is cont'd with all previously ordered conditions in effect.

*Michelle Lee Ihlenfeld (27) arrested (8/30/18) & indicted (9/1/18) with 2 counts of intimidation of crime victim/witness (between 8/13 & 8/15 of 2018), 2 counts of obstruction of justice, 2 counts of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity. Plead not guilty.

9/4/18 Update: Andrew Herrmann (27) & Michelle Ihlenfeld (27) were arrested by Youngstown police after they were indicted Thursday (8/30/18) by a Mahoning County Grand Jury. The indictment said Ihlenfeld is the wife of Herrmann and they allegedly obstructed the investigation into Graves' death. On Thursday (8/30/18), the Grand Jury handed up new charges against him. Herrmann's arraignment is 9/4. Novoa is now facing 44 charges, Herrmann is facing 14 charges and Ihlenfeld faces four charges.
9/5/18 Update: Herrmann charged with 10 counts of tampering with evidence, plead not guilty. Ihlenfeld charged with 2 counts of intimidation of crime victim/witness, 2 counts of obstruction of justice & 2 counts of engaging in a pattern of corrupt action. Plead not guilty. Next hearing 9/7, and trial starts 11/5. Case#s 2018-CR-00850A & 00850B respectively.
