Police Now Suspect Foul Play In Disappearance Of Piedmont Teen

PIEDMONT, Oklahoma - Investigators now suspect foul play in the disappearance of 16-year-old Anne Josette Hill. The Piedmont teenager was last seen April 10.

The missing person's case for Anne Hill has now been reassigned to homicide investigators. News 9 is told there is now reason to suspect foul play.

Initially the investigation was assigned to the missing persons unit that, according to Oklahoma City police, investigated for quite some time. But, as of about two weeks ago, the case has been reassigned to the homicide unit.

BBM

Two weeks before May 9 was April 25, the day the search warrant was executed at the condo near Lake Hefner.

Does anybody know the record of his this homicide unit? Or the record of crime solving by who was heading this up. I like my local sheriff since he is no nonsense and has low tolerance. But this area has a lot of unsolved crime and several cold cases of missing women that just died down. A recent one has causes a lot of vocal comments on articles in the paper. The consensus is, the sheriff has too much faith in his detectives, and blindly accepts what they say. That's not good. I didn't know if this was the case here.

I'm not sure where to look for hard numbers, but found this in an article dated August 28, 2013:

http://wnow.worldnow.com/story/23281417/eight-murders-in-okc-still-unsolved

Out of the 58 murders that have occurred in Oklahoma City so far this year, eight of them are still unsolved.

Oklahoma City police have a pretty good clearance rate on most of their homicide investigations. But some of those unsolved cases are just missing one crucial link or witness or confession to make an arrest. And for the families involved, it can be an agonizing wait.

Not a huge test sample, but that's an 86% clearance rate.

In following other Oklahoma cases, I've seen some seriously appalling lack of performance from several rural sheriff's departments and the OSBI, but I'm not aware of any similar issues with the OKC PD.

Well that's better than here, and I think the more media attention, the more pressure LE has. Our media dives in on BIG cases, but on some, it''s here and gone. I also think when another case comes along, they put attention to that. I don't see that with this case though. I always wonder when there's no updates from LE, they either have their own ideas, or they know nothing. We can never know which it is. I hope the family does though.

I've noticed the last 2 weeks have been pretty quiet in the news, too.

Jumping off your post - no mention in any of the articles that FBI and/or other agencies being called in to assist going over surveillance media that's been collected (why is it I feel like they did not collect any :banghead: which happens in cases where LE treats the case as a missing person's case for a week or more before realizing it's not.)

Wow. You weren't kidding about the interesting post there. Hmmm...maybe the car was a clue as to where she is or was. It's good to see something going on with this case. I think it's safe to say that we already knew this before LE announced this...

There is a $10,000 reward in this case. Police are asking anyone with information to call the homicide tip line at (405) 297-1200.

That explains my earlier MSM post with details such as the $10,000 reward and tips now being handled by homicide.

I can't find an address for this criminal.
http://www.oklahomacounty.org/cosheriff/InmateQuery/bookingdetail.asp?PERSON_ID=200418032

It states he was booked at 2:00. Would it take that long to book him if he was arrested at 11:40pm on the 10th?

I just added 3 more threads of missing girls in Oklahoma:

OK - Christine Daffern, 15, Howe - 17 April 2014
OK - Kayli Harper, 16, Tulsa - 16 April 2014
OK - Jamie Wiggs, 16, Tulsa - 14 April 2014

I think I counted 7 threads under recent posts of teenage girls missing from OK since April! Are these connected? Should we start a thread looking at them all to see if there are connections to help with each case? (And by "we" I embarrassingly admit I don't know yet how to do it yet :)
