I am just learning this case, but that is some story...is the FBI involved in the Jamison case on any level? Sorry haven't read all yet..pp

Those who have read my post on TOPIX know about my experience with the sheriff's department. I was looking at 40 acres in the southern part of the county when a couple of locals blocked my exit and accused me of trespassing. I was on the access to the property. When I was explaining to them why I was there and what I was told by the real estate lady they started to become enraged. I finally gave up and drove around them to get out and the driver threw his vehicle in reverse and tried to ram me. I relayed this to the real estate person and she said she would take care of it. After a couple of days of not hearing from her I emailed Sheriff James and relayed to him what happened. No response. This was the second weekend in February 2013.

A month later I returned to Oklahoma to look at some more land and while I was there I contacted the real estate person (she had never got back with me). She told me that the property was actually under contract a month before she sent me to look at it.(??????). Then she told me that another property owner had bought all the land around the parcel I wanted and had blocked access to it and was forcing the owner to sell at a lower price. I assume these was the guys who blocked me and attempted to ram me. When I returned home I sent another email to Sheriff James updating him. After the first visit I had researched law regarding right of ways, and property access. I knew that easements do not terminate when the property that it crosses is sold unless it is agreed to jointly and changed at the courthouse. The whole story sounded like BS. I still received no response from Sheriff James. This is the first week in March 2013.

Another month passed. It is around the middle of April and by this time I had started to find out about the Jamisons. I tracked down and called the actual land owner to find out if the story the real estate agent told me was true, and to my surprise she confirmed it. WOW! I sent one last email to Sheriff James and told him that the land owner had verified the real estate agent's story. I also told him that that would be the last email he would receive from me, but please remember my contact information in case the people blocking the road killed someone, or someone killed one or both of them so that the family of the person murdered or the person who had killed in self defense needed information for the lawyers. Sheriff James responded with one line: "I will investigate this".... That was April 2013....still waiting for someone to tell me what they found out.

The property that I wanted and had money in hand for and would have paid the asking price, stayed listed for a couple of months with no indication of being under contract then disappeared. Then reappeared again with no changes in description around September. After looking at land for the past 5 years I thought that I had found the perfect place to build my observatory when I retire. My hobby is astronomy and I have been taking some college classes to maybe get a teaching certificate when I retire. My goal throughout my working career was to return to SE Oklahoma. I am afraid that I am now looking other places to spend the second half of my life.

When I look at the similarities I thought LE enforcement would have more interest in my incident, but I guess not. The Jamesons were looking at forty acres of land in Latimer. Same as me. Indications are they were blocked on their exit. Same as me. I was able to get around the people blocking me, they apparently could not. After considering the number of people who seem to disappear in SE Oklahoma (still have not heard anything new about Heather Patrick) and seemingly apathy on the part of LE, I decided despite my love of OK from having lived there 30 years ago, there was no way I was going to move back there.

Incredible and I feel sorry that your plans are having to change. I totally agree with you that it is not worth it to pursue and too risky now.

I feel you may want to contact the FBI and NOT local LE to help you because something similar could have happened to the Jamisons. When someone buys all the land around a certain spot, and is that possessive of it, that tells me one thing. Mineral rights or lumber. Oil or Gas or the trees or all of it.

I think there is collusion of multiple people going on and I would not doubt one bit if local LE is getting some sort of kickback to help someone obtain and protect the rights to certain acreage. When local LE seems disinterested to help, that seems to indicate they are not on the right side of things.

I had previously shared a story of someone I met who was hunting in that part of the state and also ran into a very possessive person. It wasnt near that area but sort of close to it.

As I recall from the very beginning, there were a couple of men on 4 wheelers who'd been gun hunting deer in bow season up on the mountain, and they were the ones who alerted authorities to the truck, but were later cleared. I now wonder if one of the Jameson's wasn't mistaken for a deer, shot and killed, and the other two killed to cover up the crime?

Please correct me if wrong.

I would hate to think that LE is involved, but it would explain a lot. I relayed all this information to OSBI around November 1st, just a couple of weeks before the remains were found. One of the agents sent a reply that all information was welcome. Sounded like he 'copy and pasted' from a form letter.

Because of my reception I am very suspicious of the man they met the day before they disappeared. I wonder if it really was a friendly encounter?

Has anyone checked into who owns the property in the area and who was interested in the property that the Jamisons was looking at? My theory is that someone blocked them just for intimidation and it got out of hand. If you just want to just intimidate someone you cannot back them into a corner, especially an armed woman with a child. If you do not leave someone an escape route you will have to follow through. I think someone did not understand that.

Nearly 3 months since those remains (likely the Jamison's) were found...

IMO, LE knows who the killers are but have no direct evidence to prove it. Have the dna tests been completed? Autopsy evidence?

Krieger-Thank you for sharing your story. That is absolutely crazy and I had played around with something like that happening (more like they stumbled onto someone's land who was maybe doing something drug-related) but wow. I never thought it could be something as seemingly benign as they were just looking at property someone didn't want them to buy.
I hope you find a good and safe place for your observatory.

Thanks. Bobby and Sherilyn were an unusual couple. I think that their strange behavior will end up having very little to do with their disappearance. When the truth is known I think it is very possible the Jamison's disappearance will have been because of having been in the wrong place and the wrong time and running into the wrong person. This is why investigation into their behavior, the people around them and the events leading up to them wanting to move away from Eufaula have been dead ends. The only connection is that these events put them on the mountain that fateful day. This is my opinion and it may turn out wrong.

If it is not a random event, whatever Bobby and Sherilyn may have been involved in, or what someone thought of them, Madyson did not deserve to have her life cut short.

I was thinking that maybe as they were leaving, the Jamisons got into a fight. If Sherrilyn wasn't on her meds, she may have acted in an unstable manner. Grabbing the wheel of the car and causing Bobby to stop at that odd angle. Maybe she grabbed her gun, left the car and threatened to go shoot herself. She started for the woods and Bobby quickly left the car to chase after her; coming back for Madyson and without thinking clearly, he locked the dog and the keys in the truck. Most likely, both their spare keys were locked inside as well. After that, he may have chased her so far up in the woods that they couldn't find their way out; perhaps they thought they could sleep rough through the night and find help in the morning, not realizing they could die of hypothermia. Perhaps they both just gave up or she shot him and turned the gun on the child and herself. Being found on their stomachs, it looks like they just fell asleep and never woke up. I'm more inclined to think they died of exposure, not murder. Depression and desperation can cause some people to just give up permanently, to just lay down and die.

I have not discounted something like this happening...SJ was bipolar and I think having an episode - if she indeed spray painted that abandoned truck. Then there's the letter she wrote that was found in the truck - indicating she wasn't entirely sold on moving to such an isolated place. I do think they could've had an argument that ended badly. I don't think it was premeditated, I think it just happened.

Your theory really makes the most sense to me. My previous theory was very similar except I had thought it was people that had just used the land around there as their own like hunting and/or meth making and they kind of felt they owned it because they had used it for many years.

I had never considered it maybe something more along the lines of what you describe where someone actually may have owned a lot of the land around there and was trying to keep it that way.

The position of their vehicle does seem to indicate they were confronted and maybe blocked in. I do agree with you that since the Jamisons had a weapon of their own, that if someone tried to just threaten them, then the situation could have easily escalated and got out of hand where they were killed instead of just threatened. We already know that Mrs. Jamison had once pulled a gun on a person that would not leave her home, so she is the type to stand up for themselves and if they were being intimidated by someone, she may have already been out of vehicle and tried to get to her weapon which may have been on her person at the time. The other folks may have seen her reaching for it and it escalated and maybe the child and Mr. was executed to prevent witnesses.

I've always felt the vehicle area was part of what happened. I think things were staged somewhat in their vehicle because some of the items should have been on their person. I think the perp(s) moved the bodies to that 2nd location where they were found, but I do think they may have been shot near the vehicle area or maybe just 1 shot there. Blood and other trace evidence would be very difficult to find after all that time near the vehicle and especially if it was not right in the road.

The perp(s) would have had to been very familiar with the land to know where to put the bodies. If they had an ATV with them, they could probably drive right to the spot where bodies were found. Not sure if a full size vehicle would have been able to make the trek there but if so, then maybe even a vehicle moved them to 2nd spot.

The problem with this is didnt we hear the witness talk about bullet holes in back of the head. If all 3 were shot in back of head, I cant see where suicide would be possible. I suppose we need a medical examiner report to confirm the wounds found on the skulls.

Why is nothing happening fast in the investigation? Something is wrong with that. Do local LE know the landowners?
Something doesnt seem right with how this case has been treated.

It's almost like all three bodies found, no need to investigate further, case closed!

The hunter who found the bodies was interviewed and he said there was a hole in the top of one of the skulls. LE told him it was done by animals but it sounds like he doesn't think an animal could have made it. He didn't say outright that it was a bullet hole but I think that's what he was inferring.

The reason the case is moving so slow is that Oklahoma sends off their forensics to be done in Texas which takes something like 9-12 months to complete. There's a good chance they won't be able to determine cause of death since the bodies were out there so long. Finding the bodies solved the missing persons investigation, but it has added a ton of mystery too.

Why is Oklahoma so far behind on autopsies??!!! Why don't they fix the situation? From what I understand, the last state medical examiner had it a big mess and they got behind?? Why is it not important to the state of Ok to fix it? Why don't they hire some extra medical examiners and catch up? I know someone who died in an OTJ accident in Arkansas and his autopsy was done in 5 days and that included the weekend. I'm pretty sure Oklahoma is not a poor state, so why don't they clean some house and remodel? Hey not downing Oklahoma or Oklahomans at all; I've lived there and loved it and loved the people, and have numerous family members in the OKC area. Just don't understand the way the OSBI or LE handles the many situations you see talked about on blogs, etc. online. The guy from the LeFlore (sp) area had video and LE was a joke in that case. Can't remember his name, but watched/listened to all of his videos on Youtube. Is it really as bad as it seems as far as corruption in LE and/or is it more out of the f word -fear?? I love going to those Oklahoma casinos; maybe the state could take 1% of the taxes they collect from them and reinvent the SME's office?! I would contribute..lol! Sorry for the vent but the handling of this case has been :banghead:

You bring up some very valid points and I question it too. I remember awhile back some of the news about that medical examiners office and how people are having to wait to get people declared dead and stuff. It is crazy and I do think there maybe too much of a "buddy buddy" system going on in that whole department.

It is my understanding that the whole Tulsa area now has to send all their bodies to Oklahoma City when they used to have their own ME office. I think I remember lack of funds and lack of advanced equipment was the excuse. So if I remember right, the OKC office is now the only ME office for the whole state and IMO they are just not very efficient and they just plain suck at it and dont want to spend money to hire more qualified people to help them.

JMO
I dont think there is enough public outcry about it. Just a few news stories and it goes away, so the ME office is just business as usual when the heat from the newspapers dies down. Families that are waiting for results to get death certificates and insurance claims are the ones who suffer and perhaps they need to band together with past families and get a group effort.
Unless there is a huge outcry or maybe even lawsuits against that department, it doesnt seem like anything is going to change.

It is upsetting and I have seen other situations that are similar to this. The people in Oklahoma are some of the friendliest people I have ever met and perhaps the culture of the state comes into play on things like this. I havent seen large organized protests against anything or if there was, then maybe I just missed the news about it. Power in numbers and a leader type person to help them organize is what is needed. There is no doubt people are affected by this.
