Did anyone from any of the multiple properties in the area see them together in the area either in the boyfriend’s truck or walking/hiking? I could see them getting in to an argument and one of them deciding to walk back to the truck alone and then getting lost or possibly attacked by a cougar. There are so many houses in the area that if someone was lost I would think they would end up walking out and either hitting a road or home?

I am really skeptical about the hiking story. So they're out there hiking, she becomes lost...so he goes to sleep in a truck?

This sounds a lot like just-murdered-or-dumped-a-body-and-exhaustion-takes-over, but then...

They weren't really hiking or sober IMO.

It was only 6-8C with light rain and fog on the 22nd.

This is a flat rural road with many residences and not hiking trail. It does pass through an area with a creek and small lake.

According to Gary Hughs, the marker is where BG was found in his car.


Her orange coat and red backpack should be easy to spot unless she's been concealed. That is a lot of area between the marker and what would have been the lights of North Plains. The water and golf course are in that line.

If he did something to her there, why would he stick around? Or if he murdered her and dumped her there, why would he stick around? If I committed a violent crime like that, I would get out of there so fast it would make your head spin. IMO

Per that article, the fact that they have found clues and are slowing down the search means to me that they’re onto something, and that this is not a voluntary missing situation. Sitting on hands for now.

•the two have been dating for a few months and have known each other for years. But how the two got there and why they came in the first place is a mystery.
•Garland’s grandparents live nearby and they may have friends in the area, but family members haven’t found anyone who saw or spoke to them before Watterson disappeared.
•the search area is described as difficult and not having designated trails. Instead it is mostly rural private properties, so owners have had to be contacted to grant permission for searchers to enter those lands.
•Morris said the terrain is heavily wooded, with large bushes and some steep areas which have been challenging for crews.

According to the new information in the link just above, they were walking on Pumpkin Ridge Road, which appears to cut across a golf course/country club area that's bordered by large houses/mansions.

So not a trail and not your usual "lost hiker." Young woman goes missing in relatively populated golf course area?

Officers with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said search and rescue crews would refocus their efforts on Friday morning thanks to new evidence, but they did not offer details on what they found.


“I’m not free to say what it is at this point. Just know that it’s something that’s going to change the type of searching we’re doing," Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy Tony Morris during a Thursday press conference.

"[We] have found some interesting items and clues that we’re going to try to find out more information tomorrow with a different type of search.”

i hope the new type search finds her. at first i was thinking that maybe she was not in the area where her boyfriend was found asleep in his truck but it seems now that searching in that area did produce positive results.

Here is a google map of the road they were walking down though the red mark is NOT a point in which anyone was last seen, it's just a google map reference point. It looks like mostly private property. Also, if you google the Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course their website has an aerial picture of the area that gives a pretty decent idea of what the landscape is like. خرائط ‪Google‬‏‏

Wondering if this means the ‘type’ of search is switching to a recovery instead of search and rescue.

I really don’t think they were “hiking” - sewing the area they were in. It’s pretty highly populated. Do we have any MSM confirmation about the time they out there, during the day or at night?

If someone was to, for example do drugs and go out for a night walk, it would be easy based on the type of substance of course, to become separated etc.

I’ve got two theories at this point both of which seem equally probable. Hoping today turns up more info.
