I sure hope they find something today that is helpful to the case. Obviously, I hope that "something" is Allyson alive but sadly at this point that doesn't look like it's going to happen.

Looks like the searching has provided some new direction for LE:

Quotes from article:

On Thursday, when the new discovery was made, an Oregon National Guard helicopter with heat-sensing cameras was being used to aid the search.

“[We] have found some interesting items and clues that we’re going to try to find out more information tomorrow with a different type of search,” Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy Tony Morris said at a press conference.

“I’m not free to say what it is at this point. Just know that it’s something that’s going to change the type of searching we’re doing.”

Watterson’s parents were grateful for the search efforts.

“We just really, really want to thank everyone, and we want this to keep going until we find Allyson,” her father, Alan Watterson, said at the press conference.

Her mother, Misty Watterson, said, “She’s just a very special person, and I will do anything to get her home. Anything.”

Looks like they're holding him on other charges so they can find her --hopefully alive.
What did she see in him ? Sorry I have to think he'd fooled her into thinking he was some prince charming. Ugh.
Her poor family !

I wonder when she met him. She just got off a year of probation for theft in June of this years. OREGON JUDICIAL DEPARTMENT - Online Records Search (use her name in search engine then click on case number for details). Probation comes with it some conditions about an association with known criminals. Did she just not know his background? I hope she is found. Her family loves her and misses her.

LE does not want civilians to search anymore. We will find out more Monday am but it is not looking good :( It has been below freezing here at nighttime the last few nights in this area . I need to head to Costco again and get food donations for the searchers.

Misty, Allyson’s mom, steps up to podium again after deputies finish their update to tell us brand new info. She says “Allyson and Benjamin took their car to see a friend.” Misty says they were NOT hiking, as previously released by @WCSOOregon. @fox12oregon

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office initally reported that Watterson had been hiking at the time she went missing. But, during a news briefing on Friday, Watterson’s mother said that was not the situation as originally thought around her daughter’s disappearance.

Misty Watterson told media that her daughter and Garland had gone out to the area to see a friend and at some point, their car broke down. It was when they were both seeking help that Watterson and Garland were separated, and Watterson went missing.

Day 4 to Find Allyson: Search continues for missing woman last seen near North Plains

According to the new information in the link just above, they were walking on Pumpkin Ridge Road, which appears to cut across a golf course/country club area that's bordered by large houses/mansions.

So not a trail and not your usual "lost hiker." Young woman goes missing in relatively populated golf course area?

They were quite a bit north of the golf course, but I agree with you. She isn't lost.

If he did something to her there, why would he stick around? Or if he murdered her and dumped her there, why would he stick around? If I committed a violent crime like that, I would get out of there so fast it would make your head spin. IMO

Her family had previously stated on SM that he stole the truck and crashed it. Hopefully we can discuss that now that his charges are published. I'm not actually convinced he murdered her, not directly anyway. It sounds like she may have left the vehicle to get help and disappeared. It was cold and dark. He may have been waiting for her to come back.
Here is an MSM post about it KATU News

Of course, he has changed his story, had scratches on his face, etc. LE seems to think she is deceased.
