He's only against the bad guys, meaning all the federal workers?

At the rate they are releasing these people, I have a feeling he will get out.

I hope they let him out and Nevada authorities pick him up and jail him. Just so he can feel free for a few minutes.....LOL

Fed judge orders Pete Santilli released to 1/2 way house after mental health eval but NV still has US Marshals hold on him #Oregonstandoff

So if Santilli were to be 'released' on OR case, he'd still be returned by Marshals to NV to argue for his release #Oregonstandoff

I guess he isn't officially released until the mental health evaluation? Nevada would pick him up the second he walks out of jail to go to a halfway house wouldn't they? I think the mental eval is hilarious. LOL He is not crazy, just an idiot.

But on Monday, the judge granted his release with the order he go to a halfway house in Portland after he’s fitted with a GPS monitor. Santilli must also undergo a mental health evaluation.
But that release won’t go into effect because Santilli is under another federal indictment in Nevada related to his alleged involvement in the standoff at Cliven Bundy’s ranch in 2014.
The US Marshals in Nevada would have to release Santilli from their hold before any release in the Malheur case would take place.

Wildlife refuge defendant Pete Santilli could be released to halfway house but it won't happen soon

U.S. District Judge Anna J. Brown on Monday ordered Pete Santilli, an independent broadcaster indicted on a federal conspiracy charge in the armed takeover of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, to be released to a regional halfway house with GPS monitoring after undergoing a mental health evaluation.

But Santilli isn't likely to get out on the street anytime soon. The 50-year-old also faces a U.S. marshal's hold on a separate federal conspiracy and weapons indictment in Nevada related to the 2014 standoff with federal officers outside the Cliven Bundy ranch.

Should the evaluation show that Santilli is a candidate for release to the halfway house, he'd likely be transferred to a jail in Las Vegas, where he'd have to argue for release all over again before a federal judge in Nevada.

Federal prosecutors pointed out that the Nevada indictment against Santilli contains more serious charges, including an allegation that he possessed a firearm in the course of a crime of violence.

If convicted of the federal conspiracy charge, Santilli would at most face 12 to 15 months in prison because of only one prior misdemeanor conviction, Coan said.

BLM's conundrum: What to do with Bundy's cows

Cliven Bundy is behind bars, but his cows remain at large.

The longtime nemesis of the Bureau of Land Management faces charges that could keep him imprisoned for the rest of his life. His cattle linger as an ecological scourge to the Mojave Desert northeast of Las Vegas.

The Bundy herd, last estimated at 1,000, has trampled sensitive soils, devoured native saplings and bedded down against Native American artifacts. One of Bundy's bulls attacked a Nevada wildlife official, while others have run roughshod over a community garden and a golf course, BLM said.

BLM and its allies -- following court orders -- want Bundy's cows gone from the public lands surrounding his Bunkerville, Nev., ranch, and particularly Gold Butte, a 350,000-acre mesa of Joshua trees, cacti and creosote bushes below the snow-dusted Virgin Peak.

But removing Bundy's ornery, battle-tested herd -- estimated by one Nevada official to be worth up to $800,000 -- will be expensive, logistically difficult and potentially dangerous.

"It's like hunting cape buffalo," said Ken Mayer, the former director of Nevada's Department of Wildlife. "They're nasty, they're smart, and they won't hesitate to charge."

Bundy's militant followers may be the bigger hurdle.

Maybe they could confiscate and sell them off to offset some of the cost of this ridiculousness....

How about a BBQ? He wants free land, I could use some FREE beef.. :loveyou:

Maybe they could confiscate and sell them off to offset some of the cost of this ridiculousness....

Thats what they want to do. The problem is who is going to volunteer to do it, in light of recent events, and how would the Bundy family and their supporters respond to it.

Pete Santilli to face detention hearing Monday in Portland on federal indictment in Nevada case

A day after a federal judge in Oregon ordered Pete Santilli to be released to a residential halfway house with a mental health evaluation pending trial in the Oregon refuge conspiracy case, the federal government moved Tuesday to schedule a detention hearing for Santilli on his other federal indictment from Nevada.

A hearing will be held in federal court in Portland at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, allowing federal prosecutors from Nevada to be present to present their argument.
