We prob don't know, but I'm throwing it out there lol----was there places that young people met up after going out (I know, unlikely b/c she already went home)...like a truckstop to eat, 24hour gas station, etc.?

Also, what are the liquor laws---when can places stop selling, start selling?! THANKS!!!

Bars stop serving at 2 am. Most popular bars stick to that and make sure that the alcohol is out of your hands and you're headed to the door at 2. The Hardware Bar, where Kortne went that night, is pretty popular and gets packed.

There are quite a few 24 hr diners in Harrisburg that are usually full when the bars close, but not much in Palmyra. Unless something has opened in the past couple of months since I was last home visiting, there's pretty much just the Sheetz and the Turkey Hill convenience stores. Nothing that's a hangout. Neither place sells alcohol. I've driven through Palmyra at 3 am after a night in Harrisburg, well, more times than I can count :blushing: and there usually isn't another soul around.

So very true!!!! It kind of throws me off that the neighbors called the cops for the dogs barking as well. Dogs bark all the time, those dogs must of been taking a fit over something!

Not sure but was the first call a complaint from the downstairs neighbor about the barking dogs or was the first call from someone else to complain about the disturbance of Kortne and the neighbor arguing about the barking dogs? Hope that makes sense. Also whoever stated upthread that someone that was drunk would not want to go wandering off in those early hours I find the opposite to be true. Drunks are difficult to get to settle down, some people are good drunks and just pass out but the ones that get reported to the police tend to fall into a different category, just in my experience.

Yes. I thought the original statement said the first 911 call was about KS having a loud argument of some kind,

The second call was - IIRC - from the downstairs neighbor.

I disagree that an attack would have likely been quiet. Someone struggling can make a LOT of banging noises, especially on a still, dead night. I doubt the kitchen and bathroom were carpeted.

What I'm saying is that if someone attacked me and silenced my voice in some way, I'd hopefully still be less than compliant. I'd be kicking and flailing around.

I'm assuming - which is always a stupid thing to do - that there's been no evidence of a crime found in that apartment. But absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

It doesn't seem like there was an in depth investigation if the family determined how much of her stuff was missing and the family has KS's cell phone.

This sounds to me - as a resident of a neighboring township - like a very cursory initial investigation. There are no initial investigation do-overs.

Why did the family get her stuff so soon?

Does that sound inappropriate to anyone else?

Ugh.

I went back to the beginning of the thread.

The news release use the past tense from the start.

She *had* a tattoo, etc.

Yes, there's a whole drum circle thing here. It's just drumming on the river. Lots of people go. There's an FB group I think. I deactivated my FB, can't check.

There's a little 60s throwback 21st century hipster/stoner stuff around.

Does a dreadlocked hipster/stoner often dance at The Hardware Bar? I don't see those intersecting.

Half of her description doesn't match her reported activity, IMO.

I'm probably wrong.

I gotta make a chart. It's how my brain works.

Initial reports indicate there were two dogs but only one was found.

Could KS simply have been following a wandering dog without shoes or phone and something untoward happened then?

It would explain why (if) she walked out of her apartment with no shoes and no phone.

Has the second dog been located?

It's late, I might be getting confused.

I read yesterday that BF's family has his dog, and her family has hers. Hoping this is true.

Possible. Maybe she did take the dog out and it saw another animal..and it ran...dog chased it and KS chased dog...and someone took the opportunity to "help" her in a not so accomodating manner? No telling how far the animals would run and the perp offers to help her get the dog and then assist with taking them both home?

The other dog was the bf's and supposedly he took it with him...wherever he went. I'm still catching up on the thread.

Excellent observation. Could not agree more.

After looking at a few facebook associations tonight, I agree with both of you. Had Kortne recently started hanging with a new crowd? Maybe she's just one of those people who has a really diverse group of friends. I still don't have a good sense of who she is, KWIM?

I was wondering if the first 911 was for a noise complaint regarding her dog which it was said was missing if maybe after the cops left her and the male friend went out looking around for the dog and that's why they weren't there when the cops came back. Just a thought anyways. I recall the other neighbor who was a female didn't hear anything that night, so why the downstairs neighbor would call 911 again but not answer the door the second time is bizarre. The timeliness is so small and its obvious someone isn't being truthful yet I'm not sure on a motive yet.

I think the Cocoa Diner is 24 hrs?

Sorry, I don't know how to post just the map from iPad..http://www.google.com/search?q=cocoa+diner+hummelstown+pa&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&client=safari

I don't understand the "leaving on her own" thing that some people have brought up. I get why she would leave and where she was wanting to go, but WHY would you ever do it when you are drunk between 4 and 7 a.m.? That's makes NO sense at all.

Oh, I don't believe she did. I just posted what I did re the Aunt's quote because it seems to come up in most of the missing adolescent/adult cases I've followed...some people (meaning commenters on news sites and the occasional poster here) questioned whether Lauren Spierer left on her own, for example, even though the last time she was seen alive she was barefoot and extremely under the influence of multiple drugs.

Could be the other 2 guys she was with, came back to her place after the first police call.

I don't understand why wasn't Kortne with her boyfriend even if he was on house arrest. My son would not care for his girlfriend going out to a bar with other guys (even his friends) without him. If the boyfriend was at say his parents house she could have gone there to be with him. My son who is in the same age range and is friends with some of Kortne's friends and told me it is a really party crowd, and they do use drugs and its pretty well known.

I read a facebook comment on a photo; leads me to believe not only the person who spent the night is being looked at, but also someone who was at the bar that night with them?

They should be able to tell by some drunk texting you would think. I completely agree w/ you...that is a viable scenario for sure...especially if the other guys made her miss the bf!!

ha, you too, surtfie I was on there earlier...an , ahh, interesting bunch

Idon't know... maybe she wasn't all into social media, beyond using her phone for calls/texts...FB not very active...hmm unless there is another one?

I'm out cruising Palmyra, taking pics. I have a bunch to upload when I get home. 5 birds of prey are circling the area in this picture. This is at the right curve of Spruce Street facing west.

I'm being weird, huh?
