I've been lurking here for about a year after seeing a missing poster in a Sheetz store for Toni. I used to commute through Lancaster city twice a day and always kept an eye out for Toni there. I saw this story posted this afternoon.

I think what bothers me so much about this case is the lack of information. Is it because she was diagnosed as bipolar? Is it because she was young and thought to be out partying the night before? If she is still alive, where is the car? If she is still alive, why would she have not used her bank cards for easy access to money? Why is there such a lack of attention for a missing woman?

It scares me as a woman (who actually travels a lot alone) that there seems to be no follow up!

There has been no mention of the girls age, or how long she been dead for, in a follow-up article. I would like to make a reqest that some from that area call the police there were the body was found and let them know about Tony being missing. (howe townshp).

They are saying estimated age is between 24- 45 years old and a height between 4' 8" and 5' 6". They also know the victim had brown hair. They have not said how long they think the body was there.

There is a girl missing from Millersburg, PA which is very close to the area where the remains were found. She has been missing since August of 1989. Her name is Tracy Kroh.

Poor daughter. She knew Toni struggled with rehab in the past and she was probably concerned when her mother did not return before dawn. I wouldn't be able to sleep if my mother were out partying that late either.

Still, I cannot believe she is alive. I cannot believe that she would not have found some way to get in touch with her daughter.

Thanks for the information. I was thinking if picked up by a trucker her car would have been found because she would have had to leave it behind. if she ran out of gas. I beleive she disappeared with her car(accident) or was killed and the killer knew how to make a car disappear in the Phila. area.

"The car's tags were run" generally means that a law enforcement officer ran her plate. Maybe pulled up behind her, ran her plate to make sure there was no warrants, it wasn't stolen, insurance was current, registration was current, etc.

Snipped by me..

The officer might not have seen the vehicle at all.

When there is a person reported missing, with a vehicle involved, it is read over the airways. Usually police officers will automatically run the plate. But it will come up with the officers serial number, date and time and what county they work in. That will generate a "Hit". We attach that hit to the missing persons bolo alarm. If we do not, because there is so many hits, it goes on a disk to retrieve it at anytime. Well thats what we do where I work. Every night we put all that came in for that day on a disk. I have Detectives come in and ask me who ran the plate and what command he works in. I would then get the disk and find out!

As far as traffic camera's involved receiving a "hit" I don't know how that works. But you would think they would know.

My understanding from what I read here on the blogs is. (Just rumors)no hard facts: This is according to the Private Investigator Eileen Law

There were two hits to her plates two weeks after she when missing. In New Jersey in or near Camden. Believed to be from a traffic light camera. But no known facts for sure, because the New Jersey State Police would not release that information. :([

I've been watching daily to see what has happened with the remains found in Howe Township, Perry County, Pennsylvania. I have not seen anything online. Am I missing something?

Toni's disappearance still bothers me due to the perceived lack of interest. If this was me or my daughter or a friend or family member, would it be the same? Why the lack of interest and publicity? Her family deserves an answer!

I know, it is sad, I've kept an eye on this case from the beginning but there is so little coverage. I also don't understand why LE won't be open about whatever little they may know, i.e. her car or whatever, when clearly they need help on this case.

Unless they would tell where and when them hits were and show film, I would have a hard time believing it. If they were EZ-Pass hits our trucks get hits all the time and we have to call to have the tolls removed because our trucks were never in the area.....its really a hassle.

I don't thing the hits on the computer are real, more likey errors. She just disappear after she kicked her girlfriend out of the car.

I could believe an error on Toni's plate if it was just one hit. As far as I know, the one of the hits was likely from her plate being run b/c it was abandoned on the Camden side of the BF Bridge as you enter NJ. This fits the scenario of her running out of gas.

cindyc- Good to see you posting over here. This is a great site. A little more civilized than the other place I saw you. We write and spell better too ;). Not sure if you have read the entire thread, but I summarized the search of the river by Texas Equusearch and the "town meeting" held by Eileen Law on previous pages.

cindyc- Btw, I had lunch today with my parents who are from a neighboring town of Newport. As far as they knew, the body found on 322 had not been identified. They had heard recently that it is believed to have been dumped there after being moved from somewhere else.

The production company working on "Disappeared," Peacock Productions, interviewed law-enforcement officials from West Brandywine and Lower Merion police; Donna Knebel and Candy Sharpless, Sharpless' mother and sister, respectively; Crystal Johns, Sharpless' friend and the last known person to see her; and Eileen Law, a private detective who has been working on the case for about a year.

Sharpless was last seen leaving the home of former NBA player Willie Green, who was hosting a small gathering at his home the morning of Aug. 23, 2009.

I think the show will be aired in Feb. 2011. But I cannot find that link now.

I wish they had issued a search warrent on the home of the party. There was a fight admitted and now Toni is missing. That should be enough to obtain a warrent.

That was my first thought...
