I called this in, but the detective in charge won't be in the office until Monday.

Sorry, I can't find any follow up to this, did the detective ever discuss/rule out Elizabeth?

I was going to ask you what you thought were the next best steps given how long you've been working on this one. I'll start looking at MP's in Delaware, Virginia and Ohio.

Thanks so much Sunny. I found nothing on the Maryland list. I doubt she is listed anywhere but we have to check. I will contact Truck Stop Ministries to see if they will put her on their site. If anyone knows of sites where people are looking for lost family members it might be worth a search.
Remember folks, no one is actively doing anything on this case. It is on us.

Never heard a thing on Elizabeth Eisel, but the circumstances are not a good match.

This article might have been linked before. Its from the Uniontown newspaper 2013. There is a quick mention of this case, referencing new clues. Seems a state trooper was reviewing old cases from this county.

Can't find any followup.

Has anyone suggested Carol Sue Snyder? http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/1156dftx.html

The pictures of her are not very good but she seems to have the same face shape and hair color.

Her physique seems about right although maybe a little short?

I quickly broadened my search beyond the states I mentioned above once I realised that there are very few women who fit JD's body type, so I did a search across all states from 1983 to 1986 really just based on physical attributes. Note, I am only looking on NamUs at this point. Here are the options I found, neither of which feel quite right. I agree with MagnumPE it doesn't seem like this woman will be listed as a MP:

Shannon Potter from MD https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/1868/2 - would need to account for the years between her going missing and being found but physically seems like a good match. She has some scars, I haven't seen any scars mentioned for JD but seems like we don't have that level of detail on her?

Tammy Huston from FL https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/24328/14 - the circumstances don't really match and it says she has blue eyes but I think there is a pretty good physical resemblance. A long shot.

Shannon Potter seems too young, IMO. She would have been just 15 at the time of the wreck.

Tammy Huston has the right look. All it says about her circumstances is she was forcibly taken from her home. That could be JD if she was in human trafficking.

Oh you're right about Shannon's age, I didn't see that. I might see if I can find any more info on Tammy.

If she was homeless she might not have a purse. Perhaps she even had a campsite somewhere and was riding into town. I don't think the route is way off the path, but maybe the driver agreed to the small detour. She had quite a bit of money with her though. Seems more than one would need for a normal day. I think it might be all she had. so she either did not have a place of her own, or felt it necessary to carry her money with her because it might be stolen if she didn't. I am thinking her stuff got mixed up in the crash scene and was discarded. They didn't find her right away. I have never smoked, but was it common to use a pack of cigs to hold money? Is that also a sign she feared being robbed or is it just convenient? If she was homeless, based on the money and weight I doubt it had been for very long. Seems like we don't have much to go on. She was almost an afterthought in this accident. Wonder how much regional publicity this story got in 1986?

Was the money in her pack of cigarettes? I just had a thought. What if she was escaping from some bad situation and hitched a ride on the big rig. What if the money was stolen from whoever she was escaping/running away from? Maybe she wasn't given much freedom but was allowed to step out on a loading dock or out a back door for a smoke break. She might have stashed the money in her cigarettes for later. Then said she was going out for a smoke and climbed into the rig while the door was open and the driver was making deliveries.

Oh wow, I really like the look of this one despite the age difference. From the limited info I can see without a subscription on Ancestry and if I have the right person, it looks like the S name was her married name (husband passed away a couple of years ago). I wonder if either of the AKAs were her maiden name, I can't find anything to say they were and their marriage certificate doesn't seem to be on the Douglas County recorder site. I'd like to do some more digging on her and the circumstances around her disappearance, if anyone has access to the above info?

Yes the S is her married name, she married in California in 1980 and divorced in Nevada 1984.

What do you think of Donna Kay Kingston? http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/k/kingston_donna.html

She is native american but she looks very close to me, She left home in 84 to go to Tulsa and make money. Right height, and build.

I saw her on Namus but wasn't sure whether there was the chance that someone native American could be mistaken for being white (I don't mean any offence around my comment if I've phrased that badly, I'm not from the US and not entirely clear on how these things are differentiated by LE). I agree she looks a good fit.

What is Jane's Doe's approx weight? I think Donna Kay looks too small. IMO, Jane Doe looks Italian or Latina. I don't think she could be Native American without the ME observing that. JMO.

She's listed as being 170 - so bigger than any of the MPs that have been raised so far but I guess people can gain weight.

Victoria Shoupe seemed to have a very young child when she disappeared, wondering if she would have up and left him, hard to know. Interestingly a couple of her relatives (I think her sisters but I can't be sure) are members of genealogical research groups for parts of Kentucky which is the state that the trucker was travelling to when he crashed. Could be coincidence or maybe VS was trying to get to Kentucky to family. I haven't found enough about her to be sure whether there would have been close family of hers there at the time.

Victoria Ann Shoupe disappeared during her divorce in 1984. Her husband did not want her to take their son. He reported her missing 3 weeks after her actual disappearance. Her family considers him POI. Her maiden name was Denitson.

Posts by her family - details which are not listed on her missing profile http://www.missingandunsolved.com/nevada/ and http://www.policemag.com/channel/technology/articles/2003/05/how-to-open-a-cold-case/page/3.aspx

Thanks, it really sounds like foul play after reading those comments. A shame, she looked like a good match.
