That's funny. She really did look "off" today. She didn't look like herself AT ALL! I kept looking at my t.v. screen and thinking how just plain ugly she looked. Ugly and evil.

I used to think at times JA looked drugged...but a person can make themselves appear to be all sorts of things - when they have that gifted, evil talent JA has...it's called manipulation. Not only do I not believe a single word that comes out of JA's mouth, I don't believe how she chooses to portray herself at any given time.

In other cases with younger defendants, there has been talk about other prison inmates following high profile cases. Hoping they will get life and not the DP.

Not in sympathy, but hoping the defendant will end up with them, and deciding whose girlfriend she will become.

I wonder who has picked JA out?

Note she doesn't get to choose. It will already be decided.

The PATHETIC defense is only delaying the inevitable. This Jury has made their minds up I would bet serious money on it. If they weren't prepared to hand out the Death Penalty then they would have NOT found for Cruelty yesterday and just called it a day, but this Jury is in for the long haul. People were tweeting that the Jurors were dressed up, they were prepared to hand down a verdict today. I bet they come dressed up again on Monday as well. Why this judge just continues to allow Arias to control this court is baffling. the taxpayers of AZ should be up in arms as well as the Jury for being treated the way they are. This is just insane.

Why couldn't the family can't face and address the CM if they wanted to do so? I read somewhere that it isn't allowed. They can only address the jury?

Here, the VIS's are often directed straight at the CM. And it can get seriously ugly for the CM.

They are forced to sit and listen and sometimes they're handcuffed to their chairs.

I caught the throat-slitting gesture from JA after the impact statements and the jury was excused. It was so quick, I couldn't be sure. I DID know she was crying (REAL tears, for once) and there WERE tears on her neck, so she could have been wiping them. Except ... hmmm. I got up to do something, thinking about it and then decided to pretend I had cried and had tears on my neck. I reached up to wipe them away. The first impulse is to use the back of one's hands, because that is the most efficient. If that wasn't a good idea for whatever reason, one could use the fingers (multiple) to catch the wetness. Then I tried it with the back of my thumb, THE WAY JA DID IT. It was VERY unnatural, and the only way I would do that would be if my thumb was my only usable digit.

Even so, I waited to see the video on YouTube and, yes, she DID use her thumb. Again.

That WAS yet another throat slitting gesture on her part. She can't help herself. She is about to be sentenced to die, most likely. She has just sat through listening to the family give heart-wrenching impact statements, yet she just HAS to send devious threats and/or wishes/insults to whomever she is directing them to (JM usually). She has NO redeeming qualities. None.

I would LOVE it if JM was able to show the jury a montage of all the covert messages JA has sent, the way she steals pencils, the way she gets in trouble for contraband in her cell, etc. I know he can't do that, but one can daydream.

It means that Travis and whatever other boyfriends were thrown under the bus during trial "abused" her.

This is a friend that comes to court gloating up the attention. She wears a striped jail patterned shirt and yucks it up with
the defendant's Mom. It was a great place to show off her tattoos. Sticking it to her old friend who needs her support.

Donovan, the other friend, wears a huge skull shirt the day crime scene pic are to be shown.

Then, there's the mitigation specialist with her flamingo shirts and gigantic crosses.

I get how there are reasons for delays, but come on - to a point. The judge is taking a big chance the longer this trial goes on. If she is worried about an appeal in case something isn't done properly...what about losing more jurors at this point?? And is it normal for trials not to run on Fridays? I personally think this trial could have ended a month ago just by not allowing so many delays.[/QUOTE.]

It sounds like they may have good jurors if they are anything like #8.

If I was a juror with this Carp, I would be thinking about giving it up. The judge obviously doesn't care or she would make sure things were arranged and on time. Other judges don't have this going on all the time. Maybe they might now and then. Nothing like this!

I doubt we do lose any jurors but it is possible. They are just being jerked around in my opinion.

Finally caught up on victim impacts from today. Wow, that was tough. I am glad JA shed a few real tears but I still don't buy that they are tears of remorse. Remorse over having to sit there and listen to these statements, maybe. Were the siblings told not to explicitly mention the (attempted) character assassination of Travis? I would have be ALL over that if it were my brother.

Such a sad day. Sometimes this world feels like madness.

TA family said today it is a hardship, they want this over so they dont have to look at the murderer any more. DT stalling just again plus jurors would like their lives back too. They are only getting $12 a day to sit thru this BS. I hope this pizzes them off good.

Agreed, c'mother -- On the one hand, these jurors are doing their civic duty; on the other, this is just so unfortunate for everybody and the jurors are just trying to do the right things and get on with their lives -- and their children, spouses, co-workers, bosses, parents are all innocent bystanders. Two weeks is inconvenient, but very do-able for most folks, but this is just tuff. (Of course the 8-month O.J. Simpson trial may have nearly broken those poor jurors.)

A side thought -- Is JA silently enjoying this? Some of this has been her doing, and I'll bet she stays up late just thinking of what she can do next. Is there anybody in that courtroom she even likes? She hates nearly everyone on this earth, I'd bet. She's gotta be hating this jury by now -- it IS their fault, ya know.

Almost every day is wrangled-up because of some kink of some kind in this case. And trying to schedule an expert witness whose time is already scheduled from here to eternity also throws another wrench into things.

Each of these jurors out to get a Get Out of Jury Duty Every Time pass.
