What part of this world are you in?

Uh apparently the one where every comment was brutally blood thirsty during the long trial breaks.

But I live in the rational land of Colorado. My boss was headed your way for a hockey tournament today. When he called to tell me his flights were all jacked and he was missing his dinner in west van... well I just wasn't very nice because he was interupting my trial listening...:blushing: :floorlaugh:

"The person that I had known was a very quiet soft spoken gentle person." ~ Leslie Udy describing Jodi Ann Arias

At least AZ is working toward/planning a legal execution in the public eye!

ITA. It's realization that not only is she never going home, the jury that convicted her of murder 1 may also vote to put her to death. I don't believe there is any contrition there though. She mimics what she thinks people expect to see in a given situation. She mirrors what she thinks they want, but doesn't feel any genuine emotion.

We'll see a recovery on Monday. For her to express remorse would force her to abandon the lies she's crafted for her defense. She will never admit to the fabrication. Never. She will play the DV card at the very least. We saw her throw TA under the bus not more than 20 minutes post-conviction.

No chance she has an epiphany over the weekend. She is a malignant narcissist through and through. I'm expecting an all-about-me Swan Song when we see her next week.

^^^^^ That. Exactly. That. ^^^^^^^

Hey All..

Hopefully my post won't disappear again grrrr!!

I've been watching the replays of today's proceedings with the impact statements on HLN shows this evening.. I've got a theory I'll throw out (I've not read thru thread so if it's a Pete Re & Repeat don't yell lol)

Ok I feel like CCMJA was trying to bond with Steven & Sam during their statements almost eerily like even tho she's murdered Travis she still wants to be a part of their family. I especially felt this way watching her reactions to comments made about their Father, Mother & Grandmother like her body language was like I know terrible Dad died on Travis Birthday..Yes Grandma never did recover etc..

I don't know it was almost like she was trying to muster the appropriate reaction to what was being said that how horrific it must be for brother Steven to go thru nighmares his marital problems with his wife like her reaction was.. Well trying to immulate OUR REACTION to hearing his statement.

I felt almost like in the JodiLand in her head she was at another Memorial Service for Travis and trying to act like she too felt the pain of the family ALMOST like she too felt like she was ROBBED OF TRAVIS TOO glimpse of indignation of him being gone EVEN THOUGH SHE'S THE ONE WHO DID IT!!

Idk I had a much better post typed up before it *poof* but if you watch clips again let me know what you think it's like I was watching a scenerio where a kid who vandalized a car then gathered around scene with neighbors while Owner says I can't afford to pay to fix this, now I won't be able to get to work, why did this happen, this was the only thing left to me by my Grandmother etc and she's in crowd saying yeah.. this is terrible.. what a burden to you.. who could do this etc.. Like she originally did at the Memorial BUT SHE'S BEEN CONVICTED OF MURDER 1 AND FACING DEATH PENALTY NOW!!

It was very perplexing to me.. because it felt like trying to bond/share grief THAT SHE CAUSED!

Anyone else see that or think that? Or now that I mention it notice it in clips??
Just curious & JMO

Yes, I got very much the same feeling. Especially when she put her hand over her mouth. (Like how horrible that was) Kind of like she was hearing a story and she was or would have liked to have been part of Sam and Stevens family.

I like how you explained this. I got the same feeling. You explained much better what I was thinking.

It is definitely Jodi Land where she thinks all things are possible.

Speaking of priors....what about growing pot on the roof of her parent's home??

Juvenile misdemeanor??

Don't think it would have much impact. Her violence and aggression toward Travis prior to murdering him, however unproven, is what everyone should worry about. Stalking, slashing tires, hacking into his computer, etc. Those things show her true nature.

MOO

Anyone think that Juan said he'd mention Patrisha's past if she got up to speak? Could that be why we were 'unable to continue' ? Would that make a difference to the jury knowing about her past??
Sorry if this has been discussed already, I just jumped in and haven't checked previous posts.

I just keep wondering if she had only stabbed him once and he died how would this trial have gone.

This never would have been a Death Penalty case. Therefore the entire trial would have gone different. Too bad the Killer was unable to keep her horror in check. (sarcasm)

BTW whoever posted earlier that the night posters are better or something..

YOU ARE RIGHT!

I'm look'n at the names Elle, Frayd, Smelly, Linda, Truth, Shady, Corn & all..
You guys ROCK! I really enjoy our banter helps me not feel quite so crazy about being so caught up in this case!

Thanks!

Nice! I'm in Kamloops.. lots of hockey here!

Arizona does have a fund set aside for what the court considers long trials and this one surely fits. They can ask the court to reimburse them up to $300 per day for lost wages. They have to submit this after the trial is over though.

IMO

Hey OBE! The jurors request this prior to trial. They would already be receiving their lost wages up to $300 per day, during the trial. Thank goodness they do this in Arizona for lengthy trials! These jurors deserve hazard pay, as well.

I really hope in the end the Alexanders get a law in place for people like Jodi.

The stalking, the lying, the manipulation... any more to add?

From the little that I have read on stalking laws, each state has their own laws. TA lived in AZ and the rest of his family live in CA. That might be a legal hurdle for them. IDK I wish they could have convinced Travis to keep making police reports every time JA stalked him. Maybe they tried. MOO

What is Steven's occupation?

I don't know and am also curious but ...

doesn't Stephen make an awesome warrior for justice , torch bearer, brother, husband, Dad? And future motivational speaker, I believe.

I think he is the one with true PTSD and I hope he heals in peace with his wife and child and siblings when Arias is finally gone.

I have been so impressed by Stephen and the entire family from the start.

They must have felt very lonely for 5 years while Arias was trashing Travis pre-trial, before the public got to know the real Travis. They must have wreathed in anguish every time she manipulated every motion, hearing etc and their "real" brother still was unknown to the public.

Remember when convicted murderer's plea thing came in and she demanded 2nd degree or she would destroy Travis and the family's reputation? That was also before the public was there for the family. How alone they must have felt.

This week has been so emotional that I stayed quiet because I felt too much to post. Once again , I thank WS for being there and being a place to follow when you're too angry or overcome to "speak". I'm starting to feel again...

I had to miss today- did anything happen beyond the VIS? And did anyone hear on HLN that Nurmi and Wilmott both tried to quit on Tues??? No wonder Wilmott won't even look at her let alone put her hand on her shoulder or whisper to her!!

Ok.. Thanks for validation on this..

Because I DO NOT BELIEVE there was any remorse or even real tears as people have stated.. IF ONLY IF there was a tear or 2 today it was because she was umm sorry hate to say this but "Try'n to feel your pain" (best Bill voice) ya know trying to connect to what in her twisted sick little mind is 'her family' the Alexanders even tho she couldn't apparently give a rats a$$ about her own!

That Dr. Drew program is one hot mess. I flipped over to it for a few minutes and his panel was analyzing his reaction to his own reaction to the VIS. I had to rewind and watch a few times to make sure that's really what was being discussed. That's really what was being discussed.

Seriously. On a certain level stepens's VIS really hit me harder. Idk, maybe it was his anger, and the fact that he truly is suffering from PTSD like symptoms.

Also, I found his opening chilling in that he seemed to porpusely reference how Travis was killed.

"I thought my brother was bulletproof, that he couldn't be cut down, and that he would never be knocked down."

I'm paraphrasing somewhat, but he definitely used those key phrases.

It was heartbreaking to hear about the damage it's done to his life and family. He seems to be the most stoic of all of them, must have been especially hard for him to say this out loud.

There are actually a few times where I thought Jodi was covering her mouth because she didn't know how to cry and had to force herself not to laugh. She is so awkward when trying to emote. It one point when the camera is up close, her eyes were happy. I can't describe it, it's so odd. I really thought "OMG, she is covering her mouth and laughing". Then I would see the calm come over her and she looked like she was mentally talking to herself to keep her focus on the statements and to act as she deems appropriate for the situation...as much as she is capable. She freaks me out. I work with people like her, but hopefully their evil doesn't extend to murder.

They have posted on the Facebook JA vs. State site that one of the witnesses that was to appear today has a record. Interesting. If so, how is it that she allowed to testify? Could this have anything to do with the hold up in today's proceedings???
