From SG's article outlining the defense' closing-- I wondered how it was playing to the jury, this is about the extent of her notation on that:

Jurors were focused on his attorney as he paced in front of the jury box.
Amendola was very passionate. Arms flailing. At times his voice would crack in excitement.
Within Sandusky’s group of supporters was his wife, Dottie, who was leaning forward for most of the arguments. Next to her, daughter Kara Sandusky wept.
