I am now thinking that they casually knew each over for the couple of days that has been reported. I don't think they meet in that video, she seeks him out, after dropping off her friends.

The difference in her demeanor walking in the casino versus hotel PLUS her laying with her head on arm in the casino make me think he drugged her at the casino. Don't we see her reach for the drink in front of him in part of the video.

I think she goes to his room to lay down, I bet she felt sick and groggy, wasn't sure how to get home, her and Dad fought that day, not when you want to call for help, and the date rape drugs make it impossible to think straight.

They go in the room, she is out of it and sick/groggy. He helps her lay down and this is where she takes her own pants off, leaving the panties on, probably at his instruction/suggestion since he wants to look for her cash.

She realizes at some point he is going through her pockets/purse, she tries to stop him, probably from behind since we keep hearing he elbows her in the face, now she is injured, he is a rage, grabs the tennis racket and we know the rest of that scenario.

Now we get the shower, clothes change, coffee/lock out scene, but he sees the camera and bails on the idea of having the clerk find her body with him and hightails it as fast as he can get going.

I bet her tox screen is alcohol and ghb/roofie.

I have to agree with part of this watching her body language as she
approaches the poker table where Joran is player; its almost as if she
is meeting him or showing up pre-arranged. She goes straight to him,
not to the empty chairs. Its casual but seems also affilial, as if she
knows him. These are just my instincts talking - ????? Maybe staff
who saw and heard them know.

When she walks up it seems directed and intentional, she then smiles
and shrugs ad settles her body (I have arrived) ... but she does not sit
at Joran's side but one chair over so if she already knew him it was
casual - thats my guess. But that table was definately her intended destination point by the way she walked to it. Maybe she was a poker
player and a long time gambler and from this Joran saw an opportunity-victim?

I think he just got flustered after noticing the camera, and was bumbling around.

I think it was before he saw the camera. At 8:35
He came out and stood around doing all that weird stuff. The tapping or knocking, the standing around and looking dazed

Then he walked away. Then he came back (at 8:37), looked up and saw the camera, reacted and moved quickly out of the camera's view.

Then a couple minutes later (8:39) he came back with the hotel employee to open his door. I think

did someone say something about her putting her truck up for collateral b/c of a gambling debt? (I read it but can't find the post right now in my half-asleep state of delirium)

just wondering if we can get a link for that ... b/c it has me thinking that's another reason she might still be at the poker table even though she can't hold her head up ... addiction ... she doesn't want to walk away until she wins a certain amount to cover some losses

also speculating that she may have had disputes with her dad over a gambling addiction - maybe she already lost earlier in the night when she was with her friends and now she needs to make that money back - COMPLETE SPECULATION ON MY PART

and now I need to go to bed b/c this is becoming MY addiction

she had won $5000 at the Casino that night -

Unless as someone posted we're not seeing the "uncut" version LOL

I guess we would have to see ALL the video of those hours to know for sure who came and went etc, and to see if he'd gone out earlier for the coffee, but I assume this is all there is on the video

You know the handshake when she approached the table in the one video, then her sitting apart from him, then him gesturing to the chair next to him and she finally moves over. It does seem like they knew each other already. Had they supposedly known each other for 2 or 3 days by this time?

I would think she would have probably looked his name up on the internet after meeting him or getting to know him, if he was using his real name. I'm surprised if she didn't know who he was at some point, but surely if she did she wouldn't have followed him into the room

If he'd been gambling for a couple of weeks - it's pretty certain they would have least had ''neighbourly'' contact and just were being ''social'' at least. A couple of links have indicated his motivation was money (i.e. getting hers)

that's true.

His actions in the hall really were strange. It seems like if he'd killed someone, he wouldn't come out until he was sure what he was going to do. The way he stood there, fiddling with the door for some time, turning this way and that, not closing the door completely for some time, standing there with it not completely closed. Not in any hurry..... gesturing as if to knock but not actually knocking.... He looked kind of confused and dazed. I guess he was still on amphetamines if the "confession" we've heard about is true, I guess that could be the explanation. I'm still puzzled about the waiting at the door and looking like maybe he was knocking.

that's a good point about it being a big risk to hang around and actually ask someone to come open the door, etc. Most people would just flee, surely. Of course maybe he was hoping the clerk would discover the body and this would establish his alibi as far as just returning to the room then and not having a key, etc. But he'd already noticed the camera just before, he knew there was a record of him when he came out, so I'm surprised he went through with this plan of bothering to ask the clerk to come unlock the door. Why bother? Why not just flee.

Well it is weird and chilling and I'm not totally sure what I think about it yet either.

I dont know that he's that calculating - he obviously loses control in
a rage. He never considered he was in Peru thousands of miles
away from any real protection so unless he had gone and hid in the
jungle (something this Scount aint going to do!), he is vulnerable and
he got caught because of that simple fact. Why did he fly out?

Yeah, I don't know. I watched the vid again. It looks like he's stoned. And what's up with those weird limp wristed taps on the door? It looks like he doesn't even know what he's doing.

another link about ''their'' gambling.....according to this link (new) - police say that JVS had bankrolled Stephany days earlier.....

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,594382,00.html

So there it is! They knew each other. That explains her body language
coming to his table! It explains why she would go to his room. Maybe
even though she won $5k that day she lost the rest of what he had
bank rolled her with, and he killed her over it!

I think the Police have this nailed. This idiot isnt going to leave Peru.

BREAKING NEWS.....
JVS Confesses to Peruvians that he killed NH

This one looks odd --- I have since googled to see if there are other sources backing up this ''story'' but cannot.....

Hi everyone. I'm so sorry to be such a pain but where I am staying right now I can't access streaming media. It's just not possible (although I should have internet turned on in my new home on June 18th and will be able to go back and access videos then) could someone give me a synopsis of what happens in the coffee vid? I would be so thankful! I could just cry with frustration right now!

he comes out of the room at 8:35 am in the red black and white striped sport shirt, holding two paper or styrofoam coffee cups. He stands there for a while, looking kind of dazed, turning this way and that, seems to tap or knock on the door a couple times, then pulls the door shut, apparently it wasn't shut all the way, stands there looking like he's daydreaming. (I am not looking at it right now, this is my best recollection.) Then walks down the hall.

He returns at 8:37 still carrying the two coffee cups, and approaches the door but looks up, sees the video camera, and moves back out of the camera's view.

At 8:39 he comes back with a hotel employee (he still has the cups) and stands there while the employee opens the door for him, the employee leaves and he goes in the room.

So how much longer is it after this that the next video occurs where he leaves the room and goes down to leave the hotel? I can't remember now

I believe it was within 25 minutes - he left.

well it's 5 a.m. in Lima -- hopefully someone makes a decision soon --I would be thrill to hear they have made decision by the time I have morning coffee. Nite

""In the interrogation done to the Dutch citizen, he says he knew the location of the corpse of the American citizen, but that he was going to explain everything to Aruban police," said Miguel Canlla, head of the homicide division of the Peruvian national police investigative unit, on Thursday."

http://www.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/06/11/peru.murder.case/?hpt=T2

Okay, I just woke up and our local news (in US, not Peru, lol) said Joran knows where Natalee is buried and will ONLY tell Aruban authorities. I am looking for the wording in more news now. This steams me, but I hope Peru makes him do his time there no matter what deals he thinks he can create. What makes him think an Aruban authority cannot come to Peru?

ETA: Not much up on it yet. I think this may be old news. Apparently he let it slip in interrogation that he knows where N is and will tell Aruba. I think he was bargaining before they nailed him to the wall with evidence, and now the extortion has been exposed. So this may be nothing new and just keeping the story hot. IDK.

Coffee video:

http://translate.google.com/transla...r-llaves-cuarto-donde-asesino-stephany-flores

Did I see that right?! He left the room with 2 cups and a biscuit/cake whatever, in the red striped shirt. He stands at the door, does not shut it all the way, knocks, then pulls the door shut all the way, then knocks again!

THEN, he looks into the camera and sighs, looks tired and limp wristed, knocks again, goes away with the 2 cups and biscuit thing, comes back with 2 cups and biscuit thing and knocks again.

Whoa! She was already gone. He LEFT with 2 cups and biscuit.

Did I see that right?

Perhaps someone can find a previous Peruvian story (badly translated) that I read earlier that appears to say that VDS planned on packing the body in his suitcase (I thought it even implied that he HAD put her inside one and then taken her out) and taking the body out of the motel, but changed his mind when he realized that if the front desk saw him leaving with luggage that they would ask him to pay for the nights he owed? I can't remember where I read it, but it was badly translated.

It is pretty clear in the video that he fumbles in closing the door, fails to shut it completely, starts knocking, then realizes he hasn't shut the door. Shuts the door, jiggles the handle, then knocks some more. All while holding 2 obviously empty coffee cups and a plastic-wrapped food item. All in front of a security camera.

Epic fail. The guy is whacked.

Something that probably has nothing to do with anything, but that I find odd... she was supposedly on her period- wasn't there mention of a sanitary napkin?- yet she'd been playing in the casino until 5 in the morning with nothing other than a small coin/bill sized purse? Where the heck was she stashing her tampons/pads? The pants she was wearing looked awfully tight. Maybe it's just a girl things, but I can't help wondering how she pulled that off. I'm pretty sure if I was on my period, been up all night with no supplies and a tiny purse, I'd want to shower right away- maybe that's why she was only in her underwear when he got back with the coffee... because she'd just showered?

Just my thoughts.

This is a link to the story I referred to earlier -- her father is quoted as saying she had to ''hock'' her truck etc. I think that she and JVS had a lot ''in common'' in terms of their love of poker and being a bit 'spoiled' so they had a lot to chat about

that looks like a really good article
I scanned it but wondering if it's been put in the translation thread here (for an easier & more thorough read)

gonna go check it out

thank you for the link!

Glorybug;

They make thin pads now that could fit in a small bag. They fold up to about the size of a normal post it, what 3 inches by 3 inches, and only about 1/8 inch thickness. They are wrapped in cute colors now too so as not to be so embarrassing. Also, tampons can come really small, OB's are just the size of your thumb and I think there are some Tampax brand that are smaller too, kind of all pushed together. Or, in the alternative, maybe there are always some in the hotel and casino bathrooms. Just a thought. But your theory and the shower idea are really good.

Sorry guys, lol.

Yep. You saw it right. He was obviously trying to set up a scenario that he went out for coffee, came back, forgot his key, had to get the TAC employee to let him in the room, at which time they would both discover the body. Someone else had gotten into the room while he was out and killed Stephany. The only trouble was that he discovered the video camera and realized that the entire scene was taped. Who knows, when he went down to the desk, he might have checked the screens on the desk to see if his floor video was working. Once he knew that he was caught on tape, he continued on with the original plan, without alerting the employee that there was a body in his room. He then had no choice but to run, which he did soon afterwards.
