We haven't seen video of him returning with the two coffees in his horizontal striped shirt and we haven't seen video of him leaving the hostel to flee or paying for an addition 14 days and/or placing a do NOT disturb sign on the door.

One thing I'm liking about Peruvian officials right now is that they seem to want to clear up any misreporting from the media post haste. Something we don't often see here in the good ole USA.

I'm thinking that we are seeing both of them go in. And when he comes out in that stripped shirt is when he was fleeing. He has a duffle bag with him - he didn't take a duffle bag with him to get the coffee.

Those are the 2 we aren't seeing. When he comes back out of the room (to go for the coffee) and when he comes back (carrying the 2 cups of coffee).

I believe another poster pointed it out, but I hadn't caught it on my first view, and wanted to move the video up. VDS basically shows his disregard, disdain for her as she enters - the door basically in her face. Looks to the right slightly to assure that she's entering. He's a sexual predator, in my view. He's very, very comfortable doing what he's doing. He is able to hone in on which females are more vulnerable. This psychopath isn't gonna jump out of the bushes. This is too much fun for him. The money was an additional bonus.

Exactly - from his demeanor in the video I don't get that he is robbing her - he's a sexual predator. And the girl seems so out of it.

Could very well be. Whatever it is we're looking at in that video link, it's definitely NOT all the video Peruvian police have against him. It's just enough to confuse the carp out of us. LOL

I'm wondering if those videos are witheld for some specific reason but cannot imagine why....they are clearly releasing the entering and his leaving....so if there are videos of going for coffee/returning wonder if his clothing had changed.....interesting but I guess that would not release everything at first or maybe not at all...makes you wonder though or it does me,lol

Since she was found fully clothed and is said to have resisted sexual advances, it tells me there might have been evidence from the killer on her clothing. That could well be the incriminating evidence they have, if it is true IMO. Remembering too we heard on Wed the skin found under her nail was Joran's. I don't know where that came from {maybe unconfirmed}.

The crime happened in Aruba. The FBI has no jurisdicition in Aruba. We went through this during the Natalee Holloway investigation.

During Natalee's investigation, the FBI was allowed there as an observer. Aruba played it up to make it appear they were allowing the FBI to participate, but they weren't. The FBI had a dive team there and they weren't even allowed to dive. They sat on the sidelines watching the Arubans dive. The FBI wasn't allowed to dive so they eventually left the island.

During Joran's interrogation, the FBI were there as 'observors.' They were completely FRUSTRATED.

During this sting, the crime was against a U.S. citizen, including the 'wire transfer' to Holland, so he may have been eligible for prison time in U.S., I heard 6 years, but it would HAVE TO BE the Aruban LE to arrest him in Aruba. That's where they were. The Arubans could have arrested him on 'suspcion of extortion' and held him up to 30 days. But they did NOT arrest him, just kept him under surveilance.

Fran, old friend. The sting operation was being conducted and the evidence (like the wire transfer evidence) was being gathered by the FBI, not the Aruban government. As I explained in an earlier post, this wasn't a one or even two part operation. The FBI (and certainly the Holloway family) wanted more information. They were still dangling more than $200,000 in bait for information that would be more substantial than what they (and we) had heard before. There is no indication that an arrest by the Aruban government was requested or even desirable.

I know that you despise "The Arubans". Only a thick brick wall could ignore that. But in this case, you have no real reason.

At this point, I feel like we are veterans in a war where there are only casualties.

I know for sure I read and heard that discussion many times since the story broke. GHB, IIRC. Breaks down or wears off in about 4 hours, correct?

Depending on the dose - it can last about 2 - 4 hours and can cause a mild euphoria, a mild sedative state all the way up to coma - seizures - death. I get the feeling Joran knows a lot about GHB (date rape drug) and how much to give to get the state he wants at the time. Here in the US it is a schedule I illegal drug, no medical use, a felony, and usually adulterated with all kinds of carp. It is used for some research here. Not sure of the status in other countries. moo

I have watched this repeatedly, and still can't get over it..... the fact that he seems to completely ignore her, absolutely confident that she will follow. That she seems so 'out of it', somehow. That when he leaves the room, after committing the most heinous, violent act, and seeing what remained, he looks so relaxed...

I heard on Geraldo they found 2 ruffies in her abandoned car. Does anyone know if that would make sense? I always thought they were tiny little pills, now I learn each comes in a wrapper. Ta

I'm thinking he's still wearing the same clothes (white shirt) and there might even be "questionable spots" on it. Does he look disheveled? Hair a mess? Looking like he just "woke up"? Sweating? But I do think you're right - its the clothes.

Wonder if what she got under her nails was scalp and hair? The marks have to be on him - somewhere. He might (or probably did) take his shirt off? Scratches should be on arms, chest, back. We see nothing on his face or neck. But could be something on his scalp.

I finally watched the surveillance video from the hotel. It annoyed me the way he tossed up the keys - like "Ooo..look at me with a pretty girl going to my room". Blech. Is it me or did Stephanie look like she was staggering a bit?

I wish I could agree with her staggering. I do not see it - at all. Perhaps, he slipped date-rape drug in a last drink at the casino (additional video - but really do not need it, IMO), and she didn't finish the drink. No matter to me. She's not comfortable IMO - head hung. She's going through it in her head - he's not speaking to her. He's not extending his hand out as he leaves the front desk, nor even as they are about to enter the room. Even nearly slams the door on her, but she cannot act upon it - running, leaving, turning him down. He's a psychopath - he sniffed out her weakness, some insecurity, and moved in on his prey at the casino. He's very experienced.

The earlier articles all stated that he paid for the 14 days in advance (in other words he had been there awhile - which was how the do not disturb routine with the staff was established)

I've never seen ruffie packaging either. I was slipped one in my 20's I'm sure (thank goodness for lovely girlfiriends who got me home safely). My daughter was slipped one too when she was in college. I'll call her tomorrow and ask her what she knows about packaging and looks. She's a bio major halfway through her masters and street smart toboot!

In the video look at his hand at the front desk. He is rolling his fingers like playing poker. His poker face is on. When he steps out in the hall a few hours later. His eyes are wide open inside light of room still on and when he walks past the desk he slows down yet makes sure his dufflel bag goes first before him out the door.

I think that for reasons we can all appreciate, statements by victims' families often tend to be given to hyperbole. If I were still a young man, I honestly can't imagine how I could cope with the news of my sister's death.

I don't know - she doesn't look easy on her feet - maybe not staggering but not stable on her feet either. Her legs are dragging. Did he slip her something and she just wants to lie down somewhere...? Is she out of it that he doesn't have to whoo her - it's a done deal for him?
