De politie in Peru denkt al vandaag de eerste rapporten te hebben van sporen die kunnen wijzen op de betrokkenheid van Joran van der Sloot bij de dood van Stephany Flores.

Peruvian police hopes to have some reports today that points to the involvement of Joran van der Sloot in the death of Stephany Flores.

Alle bewijzen wijzen erop dat hij Stephany heeft vermoord", zegt Cesar Guardia, chef van Criminele Onderzoeksdienst van de politie. Zo had de vermoorde Stephany vermoedelijk huidweefsel onder haar nagels.

"All evidence points to the fact that he killed Stephany" says Cesar Guardia, head of the Criminal Investigation service. Stephany presumably had skintissue under her nails.

Uit exclusieve politiebeelden van het medisch onderzoek van Joran is op zijn lichaam geen sprake van zichtbare nagelsporen. Ook bebloede schoenafdrukken tussen bed en badkamer worden onder de loep genomen.

Exclusive police video shows that during the medical examining of Joran, there where no physical signs of scratching. Bloody shoeprints between bed- and bathroom are being investigated.

Poker player tipped off police

Het lichaam van de vermoorde Stephany Flores werd gevonden na een verzoek van een mysterieuze buitenlandse pokerspeler om iemand naar de kamer van Joran te sturen. Dat is gebleken uit twee politieverhoren, die deze krant in bezit heeft.

The body of Stephany Flores was found after a 'mysterious' foreign poker player asked to send someone to Jorans room, police interrogation reports show.

Deze 35-jarige man is afgelopen dagen een aantal malen gehoord. Zo verbleef hij in hetzelfde hotel als Joran. Hij had hem eerder ontmoet en beschikte tevens over het Peruaanse mobiele nummer van Joran in zijn telefoon.

The 35 year old male has been interrogated a couple of times last days. He stayed at the same hotel as Joran did. He met him earlier and had Jorans Peruvian phonenumber saved in his cellphone.

Volgens de politiefoto's gaat het om een Italiaans ogende man. Volgens zijn papieren is het een tot Uruguayaan genaturaliseerde Albanees, die twee weken voor Joran het land binnenkwam en meermalen contact met hem had.

According to his papers he is Albanian and naturalized Uruguayan. Two weeks before Joran entered Peru they had contact on multiple occassions.

Deze man, 'Elton Garcia', mag voorlopig Peru niet verlaten. Hij is niet als verdachte aangemerkt. Hij verklaarde bij de politie dat hij een professionele pokerspeler is, die met Joran en Stephany aan een 'vrije tafel' had gespeeld.

De avond voordat Stephany werd gevonden, zou hij een diner hebben met Joran, waarop deze niet verscheen. Op dinsdagavond, twee dagen na de moord, had hij naar eigen zeggen om negen uur een afspraak. "Hij kwam niet opdagen en ik begon me zorgen te maken dat hij samen met Stephany Flores ontvoerd was."

The evening before Stephany was found he would have had dinner with Joran but Joran didn't show up. On Tuesday night, 2 days after the murder, they had an appointment at 9.00 pm. "He didn't show up and I started to worry. I thought they where kidnapped together."

In de verhoren meldt deze mysterieuze pokerspeler verder dat hij die dag had gehoord dat Stephany door haar familie als vermist was opgegeven. Hij stelt in die verhoren te hebben gevreesd dat Joran samen met haar ontvoerd was.

The 'mysterious' poker player tells investigators that he heard that Stephany was missing on Tuesday. He says he feared that Joran and Stephany where kidnapped together.

In de nacht van dinsdag op woensdag, vroeg deze man het hoofd van het casino Atlantic City te bellen naar het hotel en kamer van Joran. Als gevolg hiervan werd later die nacht het lichaam van Stephany Flores gevonden en onmiddellijk een internationaal opsporingsbevel uitgevaardigd tegen Joran.

In the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, this man asked the head of the Atlantic City casino to call to the hotel room of Joran. After this phonecall the body of Stephany Flores was found.

Hij stelde het lichaam niet te willen identificeren. "Ik wilde dat niet zien. Ik heb haar herkend op een foto van de politie."

Garcia didn't want to identify the body. "I didn't want to see it. I recognized her on a picture."

In de verhoren vraagt de politie niet door hoe het kan dat Garcia mensen naar de plaats van het misdrijf dirigeerde. Garcia stelt dat hij Joran nauwelijks kende en nooit op diens kamer was geweest. Het nummer van zijn mobiele telefoon zou hij niet bewust hebben opgeslagen in zijn telefoon. "Ik ben absoluut niet bevriend met hem. Ik ken hem alleen van gezicht doordat we samen pokerden aan de vrije tafel in casino Atlantic City."

In the interrogations, the police didn't ask throughly why Garcia led people to the crime scene. Garcia says he barely knew Joran and has never been to his hotelroom. "I'm absolutely not a friend of him. We just played poker together in the Atlantic City casino."

I'm sorry for the sloppy translation. I have an appointment and need to get ready so I'm in a hurry. Hope you can understand it. I don't know why they keep referring to him as 'the mysterious poker player'. It think it's just the newspaper being sensational.

Maybe that's a hotel requirement so that guest don't skip out on any unpaid services?!? IDK just speculating.

Several people posted the other day that is customary in many places. Me I wouldn't know, the only places I have been is Mexico and the Caribbean and that was before you even needed a passport.

Why would the hotel have his passport?

We discussed this in some past threads. Many hotels in some countries have you give your passport and then they give you a key. In 1997 I went to Croatia and I had to leave my passport at the front desk at every hotel I stayed at and they gave me a key. To get my passport I needed to give the key. I think it's to keep tabs on foreign guests, to provide some form of "security", also so the guest doesn't skip out w/o paying (even though we know JVS paid up front).

This Elton Garcia makes me suspicious to say the least...If he and Joran just met, they became very friendly quick...According to Blades, Garcia was asking to go find girls...not women, mind you..It reminds me of the whole human trafficking thing all over again..and they were staying in the same hotel to boot..I would love to know what is on Joran and his cell phone records, and how they match up.. I would also like to know what day he arrived there and how, I hope it was not by his own large boat... I wonder how long these two have REALLY known each other....THIS IS JMO...

Why would the hotel have his passport?

Lots of people have posted this is common practice in hotels like this in south america. The person doesn't get their passport back until they check out and pay their bill in full.

Thanks for your help! I've tried to view it the way you said but it keeps skipping the video. It says loading and then it changes to another video. I guess I'll have to try it later today.

With the video security system capturing Joran and Stephany entering the room and no one else, the only way that Joran could possibly have gotten away with this is if he threw Stephany's body out of the window and then claimed that she had jumped. The injury to her head could be explained by the fall. That would be the only possible out for him. He could have said he was sleeping or in the shower and invented a story about how depressed she was.

I have watched all of the videos posted on GMA several times and cannot find the video of them walking from the casino! Arrrgh! The links are all working they just don't show that clip! Suicide?? I hope not.

Huh? My post was offensive? I do not understand why you would say that at all. I am always very careful to not be rude or offensive. All I did was tell a poster I liked the way she thinks.

I was beginning to think the same thing too!!! Also, another thought about JVS. He's too big to think dying his hair would be a disguise. Is it possible he shaved the head and used a type of bleach or peroxide (which could easily make it the orange color) to interfere with any possible DNA??? JMO
