I'm so sorry to ask this but something they just said on JVM confused me. They said what were they doing in there for three hours, shuffling cards? Was it only 3 hours between the time they went in and the time he went out for coffee? Can someone give me the arrival time, coffee time, and leave time if known? Thanks

They don't have any times but this is some of the confession:

"On June 8, Peruvian investigators arranged to take Van der Sloot back to the hotel room for a re-enactment of the crime scene. He recounted that he briefly left the hotel to get some coffee and returned to find Flores Ramírez using his laptop computer without his permission. She found information linking him to the disappearance of Holloway and attempted to leave before they got into an altercation.[52] Van der Sloot stated, "I did not want to do it. The girl intruded into my private life... she didn't have any right. I went to her and I hit her. She was scared, we argued and she tried to escape. I grabbed her by the neck and hit her."[4] He also claimed that he was intoxicated with marijuana at the time.[52]"

I think discussion being relegated to one thread is really hampering the understanding of facts, and what's happening in general.

As I wrote in the past, and has been confirmed today, new information is coming out about the NH case, new searches, maps, etc...

We really need a forum to move this forward at all efficiently. One godsend would be a specific thread where a list of articles and human translations could be organized.

The NH forum should be brought back, and a new forum for the Peru and possibly Colombian crimes should be created as well. Hell, maybe a Joran Van Der Sloot to cover both NH and the new crimes.

Anyone who agrees should quote this post so staff knows.

he is now being investigated for 2 missing girls in columbia. 2 investigators from columbia are now traveling to Peru to question him on the missing girls

Patty, it's funny how two people can read the same thing and get something entirely different out of it! I still can't see that anywhere it implies that Kelly made the first contact. And again, if Kelly was the one that proposed getting information in exchange for money from Beth--then he is just as guilty of the crime as is Joran. That's the law. And if Kelly was acting as Beth's attorney and proposed that Beth give Joran money in exchange for information--then no crime was committed--that's not extortion.

PS My opinion is further supported by the fact that the FBI didn't get involved until after Kelly met with Joran--no crime unless Joran asks for money which he apparently did on Easter Sunday.

We do need finer details for sure.

For reasons unclear, Kelly did not get the information on Easter Sunday but returned to the United States and made contact with the FBI.

There is no indication in the above statement that indicates Joran received money on Easter Sunday. The only money we know about is the $10,000.00 on May 10th and the $15,000.00 wire transfer somewhere after May 10th.

Tim Miller states that he was present when phone call came in to Jossey M today, I was there, his phone rang, a call from Columbian officials that they are on their way to Peru to question VDS. There are 2 missing girls from Columbia both were in casinos, who are missing, during the time when VDS was in Columbia after he left Aruba.

Why would he flee if he caught wind of it? It's not as if he doesn't know lawyers who would tell him not to sweat it. There is no evidence that he fleed as opposed to taking a vacation. On the contrary, in my opinion, the evidence shows he was just there to gamble/vacation --all he brought with him was a daypack and duffle bag.

I think Joran's been spiraling...I don't have any evidence of it...but there is one casualty in Peru. The money was fuel IMO (selling the location of a dead body is proof enough to me that he's beyond help). Find an attorney and question them about legalities? I cannot see him doing that AT ALL!

Not in any formal investigation that I know of.

OMG!!!! On JMV, they just said that Columbia officials are on their way to Peru right now to question Van Der Sloot about 2 missing girls from Columbia!!!

Yea and go TM!!!!! We got wind of this earlier today and were just waiting to hear how things panned out.

I believe that now we have confirmation that Columbian officials are going to Lima to interview JVDS they MUST have a reason.

REASON: You can't hide from the cameras in a casino - ANY casino. Those places have control rooms that rival the bridge of the Enterprise. If they are going to Lima - they have to have him on tape - dontcha think?
