I am sure that is the way it happened.

All I'm saying is, if JB really did say that she showed up unexpectedly with a driver, as the quote said, then it would make sense that he requested her to come without a driver.

Brewer told Newsday in an interview Tuesday that he had contacted Gilbert through Craigslist and arranged a date. But after she arrived unexpectedly with a driver and began to act strangely, he told her to leave.)

It's easier for me to believe that JB asked SG to come alone, than the idea that LISK asked the women to leave their phones behind.

Relay, I did not find the video, but here are some quotes of what JB has said before during several occasions ( including kat913's link) :

I am innocent in this case. So I have truth on my side. I have no friends other than truth. JB 12-16-2010

I’m waiting for someone to knock on my door and say ‘smile! You’re on Candid Camera. This has been a complete nightmare. I didn’t do this. I have a family. I have a young daughter. I’m not capable of something like this. JB 12-16-2010

“My prayers go out to the family,” Brewer said on January 24. Asked if he felt vindicated, he responded: “No. I am not a victim.” JB 1-24-2011

Brewer told Newsday in an interview Tuesday that he had contacted Gilbert through Craigslist and arranged a date. But after she arrived unexpectedly with a driver and began to act strangely, he told her to leave. He said she then ran down the street and banged on a neighbor's door. He said he had been interviewed previously by police, had been fully cooperative and that he had taken a lie detector test. He said Gilbert left his home at his insistence and that he had called police. The driver who brought her to the house also has been interviewed by police."I didn't do anything. I was totally cooperative," Brewer said. "I have nothing to do with this."

:bumping: Thank you, NIN, for all this.

No it's not...I found this in 1st thread but I am unable to access full article because need to be member but copied jist of article that was posted for you...

Please excuse this long post as I catch up with these rich threads.

After reading, "the drifters" account of JB- he certainly seems like an interesting character. I was surprised, by his account, he had not been questioned by LE. Who knows, after its publication that may have changed. But, really LE?? You say he was throughly vetted? I think someone living in the house, who may have been a witness (he calls himself W) would need to be questioned. The author brings up some important observations. I've been posting under the Bissett/ Shannon connection thread, mistakenly.

BTW- the book is listed as non-fiction. Names were changed and the only fictional part. Anyone else read and want to discuss- let me know where to go. Which thread? It was a great book and I read a wide variety not just true crime.

The Brewer family has held considerable wealth and influence in West Islip for decades. The late father Jim Sr. either worked at or had a Century 21 franchise, they own plenty of real estate in town, mostly on Higbie Lane, commercial as well as houses which are rented out. They own the bar next to the liquor store, the bar gets leased out and has been vacant for months in the past. It has a tenant at the present time. I understand that the mother oversees the business personally.

The liquor store was the site of a pizza place (Late Nite Pizza and Alitalia) in the past. Alitalia was family operated. The mother (Maria) was known as a shrewd business person, although she has to be around 90 by now. I'd be guessing at who owns what at this time. I haven't seen any of the family in many years.

I knew the son (Jim Jr.) when he ran the bar, it was a hopping place at the time. I recall plainclothes police coming into the place a few times, checking proof and asking about drugs. All of that goes with owning a bar I suppose.

I'd be guessing at where Joseph fits into everything in the family business, or how much of it is still in the family. But the above gives you an idea of what they may wield for power and influence.

I am asking for help to find a televised interview of JB by the media several years ago either soon after the GB4 were found or just after Shannan's remains were found. I don't recall what station interviewed him; however. JB was in his driveway and about to get into his car and leave. It was light out. Something he said has been on my mind all this time, and I really hope to find that footage. TIA :).

Relay, here is the clip with JB leaving the driveway and saying something to the reporter. Just ran into it today:

I wonder if he is still paying for sex and soliciting sex workers since his famous relocation Florida.

Some wondered if Brewer called SG or Pak to arrange a date. Watch the 48 hr video above. Its shows SG phone log. No incoming call from Brewer. I think Brewer called Paks phone. Brewer would have known SG had a driver.

I wish there was a way for sex workers in Florida to know who they are dealing with with this bad apple. Regardless of the circumstances, if I was a sex worker, I'd think twice before providing services for a man that solicited sex from a sex worker that became so terrified she ran from his place in fear of her life, called 911 allegedly proclaiming "they're trying to kill me!", and then ended up dead.

Somewhere in all these threads, "client/customer/John" review sites were briefly discussed. At that time, I think some required payment which we determined might prevent sex workers from utilizing the sites. I still think these sites could possibly hold valuable information... and it's possibly worth looking into again. There may be new (and hopefully reliable) websites being used by sex workers.

Also, there was a recent WS radio/podcast show... can't remember details but there is an organization (New Mexico, Arizona, ??) that has been helping sex workers. I don't have time this morning to look it up but I hope someone knows who/what I'm struggling to identify. :blushing:

Yes, there should be a legitimate way to review clients as there is a way to review workers.

Here's the name/organization I was trying to remember in my previous post. (not exactly a client review but similar and fascinating effort, imo)

I’m so glad someone did a post on Brewer! In every single article I’ve ever read he’s basically just brushed right past. Which IMO, is completely senseless! He is by FAR the best and most likely suspect! Everybody’s excuse for clearing him is always “He doesn’t match the killers M.O., Shannon had a driver and that doesn’t fit with the other cases since they were always told to come alone...” etc... So what does that mean? Brewer doesn’t pick up exports without killing them? I can guarantee you that LISK hasn’t murdered every escort he’s ever dated. I’m absolutely positive that the killer has had dates where the escort had a driver and to think otherwise is just plain stupid and shows a lack of real thought about LISK’s motives and and actions. If I was a detective working this case I would want to know ANY and EVERY john living in a 20 mile circle of Oak Beach that had ever picked up a escort off of the internet and they’d be prime suspects. And what do you know, there happens to be one living right in the epicenter of where all the bodies where found. Brewer. And then he has a escort run from his house screaming for her life, scared literally to death that shes about to be murdered. I mean its either the biggest coincidence in true crime history, or this guy did something to her to scare the hell out of her and make her fear for her life.
Then she DIES! And its thought that she drowned! In under 2’ of water (if there really was even that much in there at that time which I highly doubt)! I mean she could have just sat up and she would have been fine. So death by drowning; absolutely not a possibility. And then I’ve read she died by exposure. That’s almost as laughable as the drowning! In that warm of weather! Not possible, she would have died from thirst first Before succumbing to exposure. Nope, my guess is that she died from a heart attack after being drugged by Brewer while she was running for her life, scared shitless. Or she died from just being drugged. Brewer either gave her something disguised as something else or he spiked one of her drinks with something.
He’s the guy! I’d bet my house on it. If you just stand back and really think about what kind of guy you’re looking for, he matches almost to a T.
The first murder (known) took place in 1996 so we know he be between the ages of 35 and 55.
He’s white.
He’s always picking up escorts or having them come out to him.
He lives (or works) close by. He feels safe and comfortable dropping his victims there so he knows the area very well, in which case he most likely lives there (or had lived there in the past).
He’s strong.
He most likely is successful or at least the girls believe he is and that he has a lot of money and thats why he needs the girls to be

Brewer would not ask Pak to get Shannan out if he wanted her dead.

Keep in mind the person that 'cleared' Brewer has just been indicted for obstruction of justice and other crimes. I am talking about Tom Spota and the head of what they like call the DA's corruption bureau, Chris McPartland.

Brewer may be involved with Shannan's death, however there is no evidence Brewer had any contact with Shannan after she left his house.

Remember Shannan may not be a victim of the LISK. The LISK could be one individual, and the person or persons who caused Shannan's death may be somebody else.
