Possible Break in Stacy's case - Cops planning on a search tomorrow 6/5/10

I don't think for a minute that Drew would confide in a fellow inmate, and knowing that he's in isolation, kept apart from other inmates, it would be almost physically impossible for Drew to have the opportunity to talk to another inmate. I think the original article from TMZ is in error in their reporting on this.
What I do think is very likely is that someone who had knowledge of what happened two and a half years ago, when Stacy disappeared, has been arrested for a completely unrelated crime and for the first time is telling LE what he knows. This person would be an "inmate", but not an inmate who has had any contact with Drew. What he knows might be limited, but what he knows may have opened up a new avenue of investigation that's led to other individuals.
Remember, Drew Peterson knows a lot of shady people. Someone could have some knowledge of what happened to Stacy and never reported that knowledge to LE because they don't want to be considered a "snitch." But, when they're arrested for something, they might trade what they know for a lesser sentence. It could have been something as simple as this "inmate" telling LE that "so and so let Drew use his pickup truck to dispose of Stacy's body." This would give LE a whole new avenue of investigation.......talking to "so and so", who might lead to someone else.

but by the same token I can't believe he really expected people to believe that cadaver dogs who are highly trained animals would hit on opposum bones...
I mean really....this is a "hunting area" and I don't care if you hunt with shotguns, rifles, bow & arrow or cross bow - or whether you are hunting pheasant, duck, deer, rabbit, or possum....when you hit the animal it's going to go down and there will be blood and it will get on the ground....
So why wouldn't the dogs hit each and every square inch of a "hunting area"??
And I agree with Dr Fessel - they left the tent there and guards for opposum bones - I don't think so.....there is something else there and they are going to be back!!

I agree, and especially in regards to your excellent point about this being a hunting ground. All the animals killed during hunts are going to leave behind evidence of those kills, and if a dog is going to hit on animal bones, they would likely have numerous hits all over that property.........why only the one hit in the same area of the search site?

It's been suggested that the "inmate" who may be providing information to LE might be Drew's step-brother, Tom Morphey, who was the person who helped Drew move the blue barrel/container from the upstairs master bedroom to Drew's vehicle.
I've done some thinking and research on this and I think he can be ruled out based on what's been reported.
On October 28, 2007 Drew called his step-brother and asked him to help move something at his house. After meeting Tom Morphey at a coffee shop, Drew excused himself, saying he had to run a quick errand and would be back shortly. He gave Tom his cell phone and told him that if it rang, don't answer it. A short time later Drew's cell phone rang and Tom didn't answer it as he was instructed, but noted that the caller ID said "Stacy."
When Drew returned, he took Tom to his house and had Tom help him move what Tom has described as a blue barrel or blue container from the upstairs master bedroom to Drew's Denali. Tom said the container was warm to the touch and he was scared. In the days leading up to this, Tom testified that Drew had tried to coerce him into renting a storage unit in his name and letting Drew use it. Drew told him that Stacy was making trouble and would have to go. Tom put two and two together and figured that Stacy's body was in that container.
Drew drove Tom home, and upon getting home Tom called his neighbor/best friend, Walter Martineck, and asked if he could come over and said that he had to talk to him. Walter has stated in interviews that when Tom came to his house that night he was very upset and scared. He told Walter what had happened, about helping Drew carry that container out of the house and that he thought Drew had killed Stacy and that he just helped Drew move Stacy's body. He said Drew gave him money for his help.
The next day, Tom called Walter and told him he couldn't keep the money Drew gave him.........he felt guilty about helping Drew, and tried to get Walter to take the money. Later that day, October 29, 2007, Tom attempted suicide. Tom's brother, John Morphey called Tom, and when Tom told him what had happened and said he had taken a lot of pills, John called 911.
Tom was taken to the hospital, and remained there for at least several days. When Walter Martineck learned about Tom's suicide attempt, Walter went to the state police and told them about the events of October 28th, and what Tom had told him about helping Drew Peterson move a container. What Tom had told Walter the night of October 28th, sometime after 9:00pm, came hours before Stacy was reported missing by her sister, Cassandra.
In the meantime, Drew went on his 3-day "head clearing" trip, and when he got back, next door neighbor, Sharon Bychowski, reported that Drew asked her to babysit with the children while Drew went to visit a relative in the hospital who had attempted suicide.
So, while Drew was off on his 3-day "head clearing" trip, Tom Morphey was in the hospital. I think that 3 day trip was for the purpose of disposing of Stacy's body, and we know that Tom was hospitalized during that time and couldn't have helped in the disposal.
In the aftermath, Tom Morphey disappeared for close to a year. It was later confirmed by LE that he was in some sort of protective custody. Most have presumed that Tom was in a rehab hospital. He's returned to Bolingbrook, and testified at the January pretrial hearing about the events of October 28, 2007.
I think Tom Morphey is just another victim of Drew Peterson. DP manipulated Tom into helping him move that container, and since then he and Joel have made every effort to paint Tom as a very troubled person with drug and alcohol issues, and not credible.

Not getting my hopes up but I saw a helicopter flying over my house towards the direction of the site.
It was the same helicopter that was circling while we watched the newscast and LE leave the scene. It doesn't look like a media chopper -- it's all a beige color ... almost like it's a service helicopter (meaning, army, national guard, etc). Aren't most news channel helicopters brightly colored with their channel on it?
I haven't driven by the farm to see if LE was still standing guard.

I wish I knew where the helicopter was from. It circled while they were digging and then followed the LE vehicles and they quickly left the scene. It doesn't have the markings of typical media choppers!

Thanks Noway, yes it does help some and we're both independently in the back yard of info reported. I only get 5 free searches per day on property info for any confirmation of owners. I'm posting a pic a little closer than the last and from a different angle from the river area toward Grange Hall road.
Here's what I'm seeing (Grange Hall Rd., top right.) Yellow push pin marker.
Bottom of the pic is angled behind the properties in question.
I'm noticing down the dirt road from behind the properties, 2 out buildings at the end of the dirt road before the river/stream.
Half way down to the left maybe the Hollow in Old Hollow. (guesstimate on topographical features)
I'm thinking the two out buildings maybe the sportsman's club.
I'll try and verify more info later tomorrow when I can do 5 more property searches and Thanks.

This gets even more interesting....LOL...I asked DH what/who has a beige/tan helicopter with no visible markings and he said ....and I quote...."I don't know but one just like that landed at Clow Airport (Bolingbrook) behind Meijers late Saturday afternoon or early evening while I was out that way" ....gee do ya think he would mention this to me? NOOOOOO.....
ETA: with my DH late afternoon/early evening can be up to about 8pm....if it's not dark outside it's afternoon/evening.....he has a habit of not looking at clocks - ARGGGG!!!

Clow Airport is right near his house and he supposedly went there to put new registration stickers on his plane (IIRC). I believe it's an ultralight and from what I can remember reading he wouldn't have been able to put anything with any weight into it (or something to that effect)....like a 1 person plane with no extra space....and this is from memory so if I'm wrong please someone correct me...

I have thought all along this was something along the lines of what you posted.... I really don't think all of this is because some "inmate" said so... they have more information than they are going to let on about right now.

News agencies don't always own and therefore mark their copters. In alot of cases they simply lease the service from a local provider. Which may have a more neutral or non descript paint scheme. They most likely landed at the local airfield to refuel.
A LE helicopter is almost always marked as such. (although plain beige may also be a state government service such as a natural resources/wildlife management department being used by investigators.)
