FWIW IMO this is not a pond...it's a lake!
JMO, but I don't think LE will reveal anything. They are playing their cards very close to their chest. ME thinks LE may be very close to solving this case but they are playing it cool for now. Why risk leaking info that could cause the perp to run before they can make an arrest, KWIM?

LE said it was L shaped and about 5 acres plus in a remote location. I think it is the pond off Peru Avenue.
The pond on Peru Ave. is closer to Highway 19. It sits between Mondetes and Pinellas with Peru Ave. being the street between the larger pond and the smaller ones.
It is easier if you go to Bing maps, find the area, and click Share. The code pops right up for you. However, I posted it last night.
I've got a dumb question here...are there alligators in this area?

If it was in a cold climate, it could help preserve the body for a short time. However, it is Florida and the weather has been very hot. It would enhance the process. After almost 8 months, they will only recover remains and the possibility of finding the COD will be very small unless there are marks on the skeleton or skull.Forgive me if I am being too graphic, but if indeed Haleigh's body was discarded in this pond- would there be in fact " a body"? I am not well informed with matters such as these, so I am wondering if placing a deceased person in a body of water would accelerate decomp or preserve it perhaps longer. Does anyone know?
I highly doubt they have found any remains at this point. Look at the men walking the pond. I don't see how they could find small pieces of anything in that manner. (I bet Tim is cringing to see them conduct the search this way.)They are saying that they did not find a body. They are saying they have found evidence, which may be a few bones at this point. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
