Valentine's Day evening 2013:

Babyshoes and OP talked for 9 minutes before he got home. I assume she knew Reeva would be staying over.

Maybe (and women have certainly been known to do this before!!), Babyshoes wanted them to break up so SHE could get back with OP. Thus maybe she sent a lot of messages that evening wishing him Happy Valentine's day / love you/ let's get together tomorrow / can't wait to get together tomorrow / thanks for the long call this evening/ remember when we made love... / other? -- in HOPE that Reeva might see at least one of them and dump him.

I remember reading somewhere that the problem with the $$ was that Uncle Arnold told Roux he would cover whatever OP couldn't pay AFTER Roux had told them the trial would last 6 weeks, max.

However, did Roux get Uncle Arnold to sign an agreement to pay any extra fees? If not, he is not the lawyer I thought he was.

I don't think lawyers count as visitors, but what I'd like to know is whether 2 visitors means 2 per visit or 1 + 1. Probably the former but I'd still like to know.

Maybe if they all go at the same time, it is counted as one visit.

Why wasn't Reeva's name used during the trial?

By law does it have to be "the deceased."

If not, I'd think other names/phases would have been used hoping they would have greater psychological impact on the judge.

For example, "Reeva," "the woman you killed", the beautiful young woman..., etc..

You'd certainly think so! At the same time, wouldn't Uncle A. cap it at some amount? If it was completely unlimited, Roux could drag it out indefinitely until Uncle A was bled dry, yes?

Yes that could have happened. But did Jenna really want a long-term relationship with OP? She had had her chance before and it did not work out. I think Jenna just liked it to be casual but she could have been having fun that night hoping to get Reeva upset.

I agree that there would have been more psychological impact if they had used Reeva's first name (not her surname) in order to personalise it more. I would also like to know if they could have used her name.

I concur with connection between traumatic brain injury and anger. Have heard it before, read Journals on it before, and just talked with a woman , yesterday! , whose husband has TBI and became angry afterward. Also, loss of impulse control.

Could this account for the diametrically opposed views of OPs anger and volative nature between recent girlfriends and those from longer ago?

In his autobiography Pistorius spoke at length of the “fiery relationship” he had with Ms Miles. Rows were regular and “nasty”, though there was no mention of physical violence. After one argument, Mr Pistorius attempted to drive 650km from Durban to Johannesburg to see her at 3am, but had a serious crash on the way.

After Ms Miles, there was another stunning blonde called Jenna, and then came Samantha Taylor, a marketing student from Cape Town who said that the couple dated for 18 months until late last year.

Here's a really weird reason I hope they appeal.

I used to put on certain section of the trial and watch them over and over and over again while I was doing other things.

Dixon was a hoot and Unbelievable; Wollie and his pork chops and "You can't see me, I'm in the toilet", and Nel saying "your testimony was rejected when you said he slapped himself on the left side of his face when, in fact, he was right-handed"; Oscar, the completely transparent lying weasel trying to get the better of the brilliant Nel; the coup when Nel caught Voerster on GAD and got OP the 30 days at WestK;, and Derman, whom I loathed, who Nel tied up in knots so badly that he became a stuttering mess.

** It was ALSO wonderful to watch because I KNEW OP was "going down."

When Masipa feigned ignorance (of everything), the bottom dropped out of my own particular world, and , since then, I haven't had the heart to watch any of it any more -- AND I MISS IT. It was more entertaining to me than anything else in a very long time. I never got tired of it.

Soooo, if they appeal I'll feel I can go back and watch it all again!!

For whatever reason, I never seriously considered a much earlier suggestion, here, that the impetus for everything was his insistence that they have sex.

With June's revelation that they had not had sex (and his long conversation with Babyshoes just before he got home, which could have created or instigated his insistence?), perhaps it is a plausible motive.

I don't know many straight American men

1. Would date a woman for 4 months and not sleep with her. On the 3rd or 4th date, at the latest for many i know or goodbye girlfriend.

2. Would agree to, be able to, or want to sleep in the same bed with a woman and not sleep with her.

IF Reeva didn't want to have sex, then TAITOJ (the athlete in the orange jumpsuit) certainly felt attacked in his honor (as a narcissist even more).

It was bad luck Reeva Steenkamp met Oscar Pistorius, her mother has said, as the "volatile" athlete "would have killed someone sooner or later"...... Other words she uses to describe Pistorius are "arrogant", "moody", "combustible", "trigger-happy", "vague", "evasive" and "shifty".

It mentions a few quotes we've seen in other articles, but its on the front page of the BBCs website.

Apr 2013 - Out partying with friends at a trendy bar, “throwing back shooters” (shots) and patted a friend’s girlfriend on the bottom. Patrons were shocked and thought it horribly insensitive to go out for drinks with friends so soon after Reeva's death.

July 2014 - An intoxicated OP got involved in an argument at a nightclub. The club’s bouncers were asked to remove him after he then got into a confrontation with another man.

2002 - At 15 he was allowed to drive Carl’s car illegally around Pretoria.

2004 - Bought his first car when he was 17, too young for a driver’s licence.

In the Times article, it said they were apart for 14 years.

I think to remember one sentence about Barry in the early times after the murder: Reeva said about Barry, she always had considered him as her father. IF I don't remember wrongly, then Barry isn't Reeva's biological father?? - I don't know. Anybody has read this too?

Mike’s son Dexter has often spent the weekend at Pistorius’s home.

He said of the shooting: “I believe it was an accident, as Oscar said it was. We’ve spoken over texts. He often asks people to keep Reeva in his prayers. It’s one of the first things he says to me every time we speak.

“He has said to me on a number of occasions that he’s really hurting and he’s a broken man.”

Dexter was at the house two weeks before Christmas and recalled how he knocked over a fan and Pistorius became panic-stricken.

The athlete immediately grabbed his gun for protection before shouting to check if Dexter was OK.

Although, you'd imagine if it was true that Roux would have called them both to testify. If it did happen, that would have helped Judge Masipa exonerate him completely!
