Preliminary Report Human Remains are not Hailey

Was so hoping this was Hailey, so that she could have a proper burial in a proper place. I don't know where SA disposed of her, but he might have planned his role for some time, and BD may have been in on it from the get go.

This is truly bad news day. As if this wasn't enough of a bombshell, I found out tonight that Jerice, the one who never should have had any children, is pregnant again.

FYI I am so tired of seeing this mis information....Shawns Grandmothers home sits on .46 of an acre- there is no 'land'..per Scurry county records...there is no other 'land' owned by her, or her deceased husband, or any close relatives, that I have been able to ascertain utilizing public records in Howard, Scurry, Mitchell, Nolan, Fisher.
The map posted above is not her correct address btw, the house is across the street from the Dunn cemetery, at the addy shown for Shawn.
If anyone does have knowledge of other property owned, by all means please do tell

Yes, Shawn used to sit on his grandma's porch. Wasn't that in Scurry County? He told LE that Hailey could be found in Scurry County. Maybe they should search there.

Yes. This is what I had believed all along.....5 miles within his Gma's house in Dunn. I'm not sure how long SA lived in that house in BS...as I recall from early threads/fb/interviews, he was moved around quite a bit with his mother. I believe even lived with Gma for awhile; but definitely spent a lot of time there as a child/teen. I was really shocked when this location looked so absolute to us when the remains were discovered.

The search at Gma's was thorough....IIRC it was from the early afternoon to about 9 or 10 at night, but I have always wondered if they used any equipment to really search outside....and curious what items they could have taken from storage sheds, garages or other outbuildings. Just remember there were phones, computers and MANY cameras.

I know nothing of his Gma owning any property in CC, but in collaboration with another here we did find a property...at one time owned by the family of SA sw of Snyder that was close to the metal? factory they searched by. Just because they no longer own it....or now only own a half acre doesn't mean he didn't play and explore areas around it. When a child, I grew up in the country and a 1 or 2 mile radius was the norm..especially by a pond or within the woods. Take into consideration he's a male and may have hunted as well...you could prolly expand it more. imo

Colorado City has renewed hope Hailey Dunn could still be alive

Once they heard the body wasn't Hailey, volunteers went into action - moving the wall of stuffed animals and signs into Hailey's front yard. They added a fresh coat of paint to one of the signs – a symbol of the fresh hope to bring Hailey home.

"We will have a search tomorrow," said Susie Barton. "We have more searches planned and we still have places we want to look."

As the community continues to hold on to hope, they have one message they're hoping Hailey hears:

"If Hailey is alive and if there is any chance she is watching and listening, we haven't given up hope because we just want you home. We're not going to give up so if you're watching we just want you to know it's safe to come home," Jenkins said.

Hope Still Alive and Strong for Hailey Dunn 3/23/12

April Wehba is one of the many search team members who came to revamp the site they call “Hailey’s Hope.”

“New hope new beginnings,” Wehba said, “It took a second for us to process what we just heard. But it hit us like a ton of bricks and lifted this big weight off of my shoulders.”

As they repaint their sign they talk among each other about the “what if’s.”

“We haven’t slept we didn't eat,” Wehba said, “It's been hard on us.”

“We are not completely selfish we understand that there is a family out there that's grieving,” said search volunteer Holly Jenkins.

“Once we got grasp of ourselves we realize that somebody still has their loved one out there that just been found,” Wehba said “It’ll bring closure to their family and some peace.”

Most of the search team members are grandmothers, mothers, and their daughters, each of them say they consider Hailey Dunn as one of their own.

“I would be lying if I said I was not completely relieved that it was not Hailey,” Jenkins said.

They say its time to reconvene and begin their search once again: A sign of new hope for Hailey.

IMO, if SA lawyered up because he thought they had found Hailey and it turns out it wasn't Hailey at all, that's good evidence that SA doesn't know where Hailey is. If he did, he'd have known it wasn't her.

If I were him and totally innocent, you're darn tootin' I'd lawyer up if there were reports of a body found where this one was.

Or Hailey's remains are not far from the remains found.

All of the media reporting "sources" should be ashamed, IMO...I guess no one has to verify anything anymore, just call it a "source" and run with it. I also feel ashamed for listening to anyone except LE, which is my general rule...I made it a point not to trust media long ago, but slipped up in this case...

Me too. It's like BD and SA got themselves some Casey Anthony luck. That's how it feels. I couldn't even react yesterday because I was so stunned. I'm usually not totally wrong like this though the media didn't help one bit. I feel like I've been turned upside down and hung by my ankles on this one.

I still don't think BD and SA are innocent, and I'm sure they're somewhere sighing in relief right now that it wasn't Hailey that was found. But who knows. I should be relieved it's not Hailey, but I'm not relieved at all. I am totally shaken up by this. It almost feels like the day the jury came back in the Casey Anthony case all over again...

I went out to eat last night, and there was a teenage girl at a table over from us that looked a bit like Hailey. I tried not to stare at her too much, but the news yesterday had me so shaken up. She could still be out there somewhere alive, you know? I just don't know anything anymore...

If it hasn't been posted...Shawn has released a statement through his attorney:

Shawn wishes to extend prayers for this yet-identified individual and hopes that some family will find closure and peace.

While Shawn has maintained his innocence, he has been vilified and convicted in the court of public opinion. Today's news, though saddening, should be a vivid reminder that trials should occur in the courtroom and that our laws and system of justice require an awareness and respect for the presumption of innocence.

Shawn will continue to cooperate with law enforcement should the need arise in the future.

Nevermind then because the remains were not Hailey. Colorado City residents have renewed hope Hailey might be still alive. Her mother and bf will probably go back to Austin now and let those searchers keep looking. BJD doesn't mind if they keep looking for a live Hailey, but not in dirty fields. They will go on with their lives in a new location because they really really care. SA gets to make statements and smirk for the media. He can save up to buy another mask and more of those movies that he likes. After tearing our hair out this week, we can stop worrying about how Hailey disappeared. Not!

There is no proof he did anything to Hailey either. Hailey Dunn could be alive out there somewhere. If I was innocent I would state it as well, Everyone thinking I did something I didnt would concern me because where Hailey really is ,or what really happened would be being deflected by my public opinion conviction.

He is a good suspect but that doesnt mean he did do anything.

I think him making a statement was much better than him ignoring the issue and acting as if it never happened. Either way people are going to make everything he does suspect and he knows that he could have just been quiet.Instead he paid his lawyer to prepare that statement. He must have felt it important to state.

Yet none of Hailey's family has been very vocal this past year in putting Hailey's image out there, as though they believe she is alive, IMO. For a while, Clint was all about the "sex slave/traffficking" idea, but that seems to have gone away. Other than Billie's occasional emergence (mostly to defend Sean) who is out there making a case for looking for a live Hailey?

Well, here's my question: will they do DNA testing despite the preliminary report that these remains are male to rule Hailey out conclusively, or is this the end of it as far as she's concerned in the investigation into the identity of these remains?

I am shocked that they are now saying the remains are not those of Hailey. I was so convinced that she had finally been found. When I checked here today, I expected to read the complete opposite of this.
