I have a question... now that the good Doctors are State witnesses, can they answer the question that set off the DT and caused that deposition to end? I'd love to even know what that question was!

Thanks, got it-I did sort of paraphrase the Dx, but even with APD, I understood that it is very hard to work with and recognize.
I recall a very good episode of the Sopranos where Dr. Melfi was arguing with her peers that she could use talk therapy to "break" a sociopath. Her contemporaries mocked her and told her it would be impossible because that patient would lie their way through it. She was just getting to know this disorder...In a follow-up appointment with Tony Soprano, the sociopath in debate, he proves them right, she feels taken advantage of and she gets very ticked off, ending their Dr/patient relationship.
Just wondering if, with the limited time and "get to know ya" depth of the conversation these docs could have had with KC, whether it was possible for them to diagonose her with APD. I hope they could and did and the state can use it.

Antisocial personality disorder is one of the illnesses/disorders that do not get better. If they should be in therapy, the psychologist would help them to function with work/academics/family/friends in their life. But these are not individuals who seek therapy because they do not feel there is anything wrong with them - it's everybody else with the problem. It is when they are incarcerated that they will get therapy and be studied. Will they change? probably not. Do they lie? yes, note when mouth is moving although there will be truth woven through.

Could they have diagnosed ECA with this disorder? Absolutely! But would they have done that? Question: who was paying them? Yes, that can make a difference sadly.

Thank you!

Now, since the defense is no longer paying them, I wonder if they are compelled to give a real (or what I would think is real) assessment to the state in regards to the possibility of a personality disorder. It's poopy to think that these people could know one diagnosis is true, but testify to another.
I have now dubbed "poopy" a clinically correct word.

According to Allen Moore, the Public Information Officer of the Orange County jail, and the Inmate Visitor Logs for Inmate Anthony - she has a NEW PSYCHOLOGIST visiting her on May 3, 2011 (day after the last May 2nd Hearing), Ronda Calderon Weinstock - along with attorney Cheney M.

Interesting that the death penalty mitigation specialist (who atty Andrea L brought in) has also been to visit Inmate Anthony several times, along with the Inmate's attorneys.

April 29th Jeanene Barrett
April 30th Jeanene Barrett
May 1st Jeanene Barrett

So, the Inmate currently has two psychologists still on the Defense Penalty Phase witness list, and a new psychologist visiting her.

Dr. Harry Krop - Penalty Phase expert - Psychologist - Gainesville, FL - added Dec 30, 2010 to Defense Penalty Phase Witness List

Dr. William Weitz - Boca Raton, FL - psychologist - specialist in PTSD - on Defense Penalty Phase Witness List since March 22, 2011 - ADDED to State Witness List 4/26/11

Petition for Certiorari Review of Order from the Circuit Court for Seminole County, O. H. Eaton, Jr., Judge.
COBB, J. The petitioner, Dr. Ronda C. Weinstock, seeks certiorari review of a trial court order allowing various discovery requests. Her principal argument is based upon the psychotherapist/patient privilege.

In February, 1991, the respondent, Suzanne Groth, filed a two-count complaint charging Dr. Weinstock, a clinical psychologist, with negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress. According to her complaint, Groth sought psychotherapy and marriage counseling from Dr. Weinstock in 1985 and attended over 100 sessions, of which some were joint sessions with her husband, Robert Groth, and with her children. After declaring that the Groths were cured in May, 1986, Dr. Weinstock began an "intensely personal social relationship" with them. Groth later discovered that Dr. Weinstock was having an affair with Robert Groth.

She'll fit right in then!

Interesting that the Judge was Eaton [news analyst for WESH TV] and he overruled and denied Weinstock's objections to interrogatories and motion for protective order.

Seems again, like this whole bunch is getting into bed with the DT .... pun intended. :loser::loser::loser:

Me thinks that JBarretts recent visits have been made perhaps due to her bonding with ICA over the years. She, I feel, may be the only one ICA can "relate" to on some strange level. I was and am not impressed with her, but I can see ICAs draw to her in manipulations of sorts.

Oh GAWD, can't they find anybody that has credentials and doesn't have a lot of excess baggage?

Apparently not if they need a person who will tell the Defense Team what they want to hear....:great:

Can they bring in a new "expert" this late in the game?

Pun very well made :great:

In reviewing Jesse G's depo, it seems his words are what is fueling the Defense Theory. I am thinking the DT will attempt to set the stage through Jesse Grund and not necessarily the testimony of all the Professionals.

Jesse states:
1. If casey witnessed a terrible tragedy, she would completely part with reality.
2. He speaks of Cindy's controlling behavior and gets specific how she treated ICA
3. He tells that ICA told him she was molested by Lee and maybe George.
4. He believes she would have solicited help to dispose of Caylee.

Still think they are going to use his words to prove Casey's behavior.

Very good memory! I would not be surprised at all.

I remember when JG said this and my initial reaction was that he was involved somehow. It was like he was trying too hard to come up with excuses.

Would the SA's be able to object if JG is questioned along these lines? He's not a mental health expert.

Has anyone ever considered that the reason KC told JG she was molested by both her brother and father was to keep JG away from them and keep the focus on her. Many times when the men in the family get attached to the sister/daughter's boyfriend they form a bonded relationship. It appears KC tried to keep her relationships separate from her family and that could be because she was afraid the family would spill the beans about KC's social habits. Just throwing it out there. Do sociopaths do this? jmo

Everything that happens has an outside cause. It is never a fault with them. It is an element of their disconnect. They feel set up for failure in every way, so to blame parents for any and everything puts the blame on them and not their own poor choices. People who tell tales forget what they have said. Part of the manipulations is to keep control of the stories as well as people. It is a fictitious inner and outer world. I see it as a true personality disorder not understood. It is a carry over from the magical thinking of childhood and wanting something for nothing. No real exchange. Look at the shallow middle school goals.

Dr. Harry Krop - Penalty Phase expert - Psychologist - Gainesville, FL
added Dec 30, 2010 to Penalty Phase Witness List

new jail visitor on Feb 15, 2011 for 3 1/2 hours
former forensic psychology expert for the State of Florida
focused on competency and mitigating factors
currently in private practice - is an associate professor in the Dept of Psychiatry at UF

Dr. Krop was added to the Defense Penalty Phase Witness List on Dec 30, 2010.
During the trial on May 26, 2011 - the Defense asked the Judge to order JAC to pay for Dr. Krop's fees (not his transcript). Dr. Krop has not been deposed by the State.
The Judge told them to bring the "Krop stuff" [invoices for services?] and he would look at them, and if nothing outrageous he will sign the Order for JAC to pay the fees.

It is interesting to me that the Inmate had a psch eval in July 2008 when she was arrested, but the Defense did not try to add a PTSD expert to the GUILT phase until a few weeks ago, March 22, 2011 !!

Does that mean all of the psychologists that saw the Inmate or read her records did NOT report a diagnosis of PTSD until Dr. Weitz was added in March 2011?

If Dr. Weitz, the PTSD expert, has visited with the Inmate in person, at the jail, we do not know about it from recent jail visitor logs. How could he make a diagnosis of PTSD without evaluating the Inmate?

What makes him an expert? Does he diagnose it more that others? It is a subjective diagnosis at best. With the exception of a sustained injury lilke being a hostage or other horrors of war, I doubt she suffers from PTSD and the State could prove it with a Psych Dr.

If PTSD was acceptable for murder than all the people who have killed could use it. They could all claim their reason for hiding the body was PTSD...GMAB! Others could say they committed murder due to PTSD. This is exactly why the Courts have Insanity as a Legal Term. If they didn't, every Tom, Dick and Harry would be bringing in a Psych to court. Can you imagine jurors trying to sift through that?

Two Drs have said ICA does not have any mental disease...period. Apparently Baez wants someone who says she does...but he won't offer up any. He decidedd he didn't want the State reading what his Drs have said, so he dropped it and took them off the witness list. The State picked up the two State- referred drs. I imagine they are there for any rebuttal.
