Take a look.

I do not appreciate your reckless accusations without anything to back up what you are saying.

Tricia:

Here's a screengrab from Chrome:

Why would I lie about this? I sought out this thread to address a problem I was having, and spent time trying to identify and be specific about this issue to be helpful. Based on previous comments, others are having similar issues.

In some browsers, when going to a banking site or placing an order you are familiar with getting either a green stripe in the address bar or maybe a closed padlock. This means the credit card or social security number are being encrypted for safety. Other sites that you do not enter personal information may or may not have this. Lets check out some other sites shall we. foxnews.com, Says the same thing as Websleuths, do you think it is unsafe? A local news site ksat.com, again says the same thing as Websleuths. Check your own local news station, what does it say?

I thought I posted this earlier, but I don't see it now.

I wonder if the "unsafe sites" is only due to differences in browsers. I am currently on an iPad that uses Safari browser, and websleuths comes up as "Not Dangerous" "Safe browsing has not recently seen malicious content on websleuths.com "

I tried all the links you suggested, Tricia, and they were either "not dangerous" or "no available data"

Unsomnambulist, could you try a different browser and see if that site gives you the same message? Now you have me curious.

Not sure where to put this, so putting it here. Minor issue, but the word "chief" is spelled incorrectly under the "Websleuths News" box at the top center of the page. Dec 20, 2016.

Thank you. I have removed the whole line. How embarrassing. Don't hesitate to let me know. if you see any problems again. I know how to spell chief I swear. LOL.

Tricia, I'm still getting political ads asking/polling if DT will make America great again (I think it is great) I thought we weren't supposed to discuss our political views here on WS. I get enough of that elsewhere.

I'm wondering if others are getting these ads?

The ads are chosen by me. We have several ad agencies working on our site. We all see totally different ads. If you are seeing political ads then for whatever reason those ads have been chosen for you.

I'll request our ad companies stop the political ads.

Thanks,
Tricia

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL MODS, TRICIA, AND TECHIES! :xmastree: :snowman:

The last several days, every time I open WS I get a pop up asking if I want Tapatalk. It only happens here at WS. Is there a way to stop it? I have notifications disabled and am using an iPad. See screenshot attached. Thank you.

I don't know if this has been asked/answered anywhere yet. I am using my iPad to view the site and recently my pages will suddenly reload or a message will come up that says 'there was an unexpected error and the page has been reloaded.' I have cleared my cache and cookies and have downloaded every browser to try and view the site. I keep getting the same problem.

Is there anyway to fix this?

ILP, go to settings and turn off JavaScript in the advance settings in Safari.

Is there a way to disable JavaScript on the Firefox app?

Well. If you turn off JavaScript, it'll be off for any app. untill you turn it back on. For some reason, many are having problems with WS (pages reloading, typing jumping, etc.) I've found disabling Java script takes crare of it, though, you won't have full interface, like emoticons, videos won't play. I just turn it back on for other sites.

Happy Holidays, everyone!

I almost always use my iPad and I have had that happen sometimes. It helps to make sure you delete the history, (seems you already did that)and if that is not enough, then reset [hold both home and power buttons together until you see the Apple icon]. I seem to notice it most on pages that have a lot of videos or images, too; or when a thread gets too many pages.

? Are we suppose to notify a mod if a person is found or recovered and verified via MSM or LE. I have just been posting found/recovered with the assumption a mod would take care of it when they have time.
Not sure which is correct.

Yes, when you post about an update about a missing person who has been confirmed to have been found/recovered, please use the alert triangle at the bottom to "alert" on your on post. With a forum as large and as fast moving as WS, it is impossible for staff to view every thread to see if any updates need to be made, so it is greatly appreciated if you notify a mod/admin/coordinator whenever a thread needs to be updated.

Thanks. I will do now.
If I am on Tapatalk I would use the report button in the upper right corner?
It is automatically loaded with a report spam message that I can change to located or recovered.
