Jim, thank you SO much for your dedication to this case! I am a mother of 4 who lives a little over an hour away from Lisa's home, & have been following this story from day one. Do you happen to know if the only time the parents went back to KCPD since October was the day of the Dr Phil show? Also, DB had stated that they had "started doing media again", & we have not seen anything except the short interviews from KCTV 5 , of the parents hyping the show, I believe.

I think that is the only time they saw the KCPD in person. They boys were also interviewed if you recall. I know they have been in some contact with KCPD about specific issues and the FBI as well, but the best I can tell is it's more like specific questions about certain things that they answer through attorneys. I don't know specifics about this though.

As for media, I think they spoke briefly to some local reporters at their front door but that was it.

I would really like to interview them...I have so many questions!

I don't know. Is there something there that is of specific interest?

Megan made the comment that she and Jersey used to take a shortcut through the neighborhood using the route Vinnie Politan goes over in this article.

Was there a reason for Megan and Jersey to go through to the apartments? Had either of them lived there. I remember Megan saying she once lived "in the Brighton area", just not sure if that means Brighton street, or if there's an actual area called Brighton. Basically, that's where I was going with the question.

They are bound to be out of leads again, call 'em up, Deborah might be ready to give it a bit more press.

Megan used to live on Brighton close to the apartments ( townhouses really) and had her car parked there while she waited to get it repaired. On September 16th it was set on fire. Megan thinks Tanko did it. We couldn't determine that there was much or any real investigation into it. The fire department came and put the fire out and that was about it.

Different area of the same parking lot as the dumpster fire. And while I don't believe Tanko has been determined to actually be involved in either of these incidents keep in mind that he went to jail for several years for Arson in New Jersey in the 1990s.

N. Brighton Ave is a main north/south road that goes all the way from Armour Rd. past the townhouse complex, past where MW used to live, past the BP and continues to where MW livd when Lisa disappeared.

Area around the one-time casino was searched by volunteers. It was covered by local news but i wasn't there. I think a psychic was involved some how. You can find local news stories about it.

DeAnn covers question #2 in anther post.

For a long time someone online...here at Websleuths I think, who said they worked somewhere in LE ( cant remember but not a cop exactly, maybe a parole officer or something) repeatedly posted, in an uncomplimentary fashion about how the media could find out where Tanko was that night and alluded to a casino and some log books at a police station and had several people get in touch with me to pass on these vague riddle-esque "tips" but for some reason kept posting about it mysteriously and never just got in touch and clearly said what was on their mind.

As always if someone wants to send something my way I'll do whatever I can to check it out.

Sounds like one (psychic), was working to assist the other (parole officer). Makes perfect sense now. Thanks.

I hope you get to interview them! Here are the local interviews they did:

Yes! Doc put it up for us. That's crazy - hook us up with more details! ;)

I dont know any more details...though i think it's possible Dane and Jersey are now in the same jail...Clay County Jail.

Of all the people I met covering this story the only person who really creeped me out was Dane’s brother Zach.

I was trying to track down Dane after Megan told me he was the guy who had her phone and I went to the address listed in court records related to the restraining order against him. It turned out to be his parents house. I knocked on the door and a dude answered. I said “I’m jim spellman from CNN. Looking for Dane Greathouse” and he was like “come on in” which in itself is weird. People just don’t do that. It was a pretty nice house in a nice new development so I couldn’t quite figure out how this kid in his 20s lived here. He answered my questions about Dane by saying he wasn’t in touch with him and didn’t like him but that Dane showed up once in a while to do laundry or borrow money. He looked like a little rough but he offered me coffee and answered questions like a guy used to being questioned.

He didn’t at all seemed surprised that I was asking him about his brother being involved in some way in a kidnapping that was the biggest story in the city by a mile at that time, which was definitely weird. Most people would freak out if a reporter showed up at their door asking about their brother in relation to a kidnapping.

So, here’s the weird thing...there was a baby in the house. I could hear crying upstairs. He said it was his daughter. At this point I was in the house by my self and my camera guy was out in the car...i was a little freaked out. I asked to see a pic of Dane and he showed me one and let me snap a picture of it on my iPhone so I would know what Dane looked like. Then I left. Later when other reporters went by there the parents kicked people off the property and never spoke again to my knowledge.

I called KCPD immediately to tell them about the baby and ask about Dane. He didn’t seem to be on anyone at KCPD’s radar at that time, but a week or so later they started saying they were looking for him.

Turns out the brother., Zach Greathouse has a terrible sounding rape case against him that is still working its way through the courts, yet another Greathouse, Joshua was also involved. A troubled family it would seem.

Anyway, like I said, he really creeped me out. I got really bad vibes from him.

What about the dumpster fire? Any arson investigation?

Yes, and witness tampering, if I recall - 5 years.

Wow, you and the baby houses. Who did the baby belong to?

Who said they had a heated discussion? Anyway, I don't know anything about that. I didn't get on the story until a couple days after that....sorry.

In our timeline here, it was reported by the local fox affiliate, Fox4KC. The article is no longer available, but it was also reported on video somewhere where it showed DB and JI rushing off to the command center.

And thanks anyway. I just think that something must have happened on 10/5 or 10/6 because the whole tone of the investigation seems to change on 10/6. We also know that it was announced that DB/JI had hired their lawyer on 10/7. I think it must have been in the works on 10/6.

anyone know how to see if Dane Greathouse REALLY has a daughter??? I find that lil tidbit of info very interesting especially since there didn't seem to be a female around the house when Jim Spellman got invited in
