The problem is that for a trial to be fair, it should be fair to both sides. Handing the defense all, but muzzling/limiting the State is not by any means fair. Yes, it probably does cut down appeal issues if everything is handed to them on a platter, but it also interferes with justice for the victim. Truth and justice is what the goal is supposed to be, not a good appeals record for the judge.

All I can think is she's just trying to be understanding of all sides and give him time. But it's obvious he's not going to do it so she needs to give him a good, hard kick in the butt and put the fear of God in him. She is allowing him to tell Juan he is asking for irrelevant evidence! That's not his place!

I think the judge has 'pushover' stamped on her forehead. It's the only explanation for such egregious dereliction of duty.

The silver lining may still come. If she had been convicted and sentenced- the case would be over (except for appeals) but I mean the case in chief. Even though many of us loathe Zervakos she was found guilty of first degree, premeditated murder- AND especially cruel.

That decision couldn't have been easy- for any one of the jurors.

Although we see clearly what others could not- because of our time here etc, the preceding jury has now been given the benefit of learning all the information they weren't allowed to have previously and can now move forward in their lives feeling very confident in their decisions...especially because of the new information being gleaned in this new phase.

If and when this new jury sentences her to death they will eventually have all of the same information the old jury had- and then some- after the fact. It's very coincidental that the 14 witnesses only come out of the woodwork after Martinez pointed out the flaw in argument regarding cited cases in the State's response to the last motion to withdraw the death penalty. Merely a coincidence and not some grand scheme to get a successful appeal by not presenting mitigation evidence, I'm sure.

Unless I interpreted it incorrectly, one of the computer "experts" that works with/for BN is Tony. Other than that apparently the hd that was given to the PT belonged to a Tony so who knows whether it was a client's hd or this "expert's" hd, but it's all about as hinky as JA's finger that she told RB, the day after murdering TA, she had cut on a glass while working at an imaginary place called Margaritaville.

Subpoena them. Judge Judy does not take affidavits and that is a civil court. This is way different.
