I still do not understand why that jury could not follow through with the DP. Pre-meditated, especially cruel, they all thought she was a liar... I wonder if any of the 4 would change their minds, looking back. Such a sad waste of time, and terrible to have to put the family through this again.

I believe that initially, 3 of the 4 lifers did want to vote for death. They voted for life because of Zervakos. He was THE reason for the hung jury. We would have gotten a death verdict with an honest and decent foreman. He had no business being on the jury. :pullhair: :gaah:

@monicalindstrom: Jurors starting to return in #Jodiarias

He never went to see her in Yreka! If she was "abused", why did she drive over 1,000 miles to see him??? It was over by then as far as Travis thought.

Absolutely right! And the verified facts in this case are more than damning regarding her actions. I just don't see the need to add exaggerations and extras.

Can't really say NEVER. He went to So. Cal. to see her, and to that AZ motel. I'm not sure of *every* other encounter, but NEVER is a bit too strong, I think.

Was that So. Cal. visit for her baptism? And AZ is his turf not hers. She moved there to be near him and if he ever met her somewhere other than his home it really is not the same as his going to her. I mean, not like going from one state to another just for the purpose of sexual romp and nothing else. IMO.

On HLN woman thinks having more women on the jury is in Jodi's favor. I disagree. In the last jury it was mainly the men who voted for life and not the women. I think only one of the 4 who voted life was a woman
I saw her point.....but at the same time for many women they don't do the whole bonding thing. They have trust issues thanks to Mean Girls issues in work, school, family, whatever. Women aren't other women's biggest champions necessarily. I'm not certain having more women will do her a favor. It might...it could go the way the analyst stated

from HuffPo,Nurmi: "She will tell you how horrified she was when she killed the man she loved," Nurmi said. omfg does this mean Miss cray-cray will testify? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

No iirc the foreman would still vote for life. In fact he helped the defense prepare for this new trial he met with them and gave him his thoughts on how to get the same result as the last penalty verdict.

He hasn't changed. He was on HLN, he still feels the same way. Think he felll for her charm.

Less men means she can't snow them with her sexuality.

I am sure JA thinks the women want her just as much! She will be fluttering her eyelashes for all... I think that is the Snow White complex or something :) I would have to ask Alice, was that her name????

:yeahthat::yeahthat:
So true.....he was so jaded....

what time central time does this start up again - I need to do some work today!!!!

Hey Kensie! I'm at work, too. I just stepped in to my office to quickly pick up some papers and <cough> I had to log in to WS to see what I missed. This is getting absurd! I should have done what some earlier posters said they did and called in sick today. Now, ahem, back to my serious work . . .

Women can actually be other women's biggest critics. More likely to see other women's faults than a man would, IMO.

I don't think it matters really. The only difference is that women can see right through BS in a second whereas it might take some men a few minutes. Only those are who mentally disturbed can feel sorry for and identify with Arias.

O/T - I was a career woman when my kids were little. I was forced to stay home from a severe injury, didn't know what to do with myself. Back then, I had a nanny, worked very long hours, etc. Looking back, it was the BEST thing that ever happened to me. I was able to be a Mom, the most important job in the world. Enjoy every minute, my "baby" will be graduating college this year. Sigh..where does the time go?

@monicalindstrom: #JuanMartinez back to the courtroom, he is early and ready. Good thing he has a key #Jodiarias

He still feels the same because he is anti-DP and he was not honest about that up front. To be honest, with him on the jury I breathed a huge sigh of relief that she was even found guilty.

In general, juries scare me. Too many people want to speak their mind via their vote instead of apply the law.

Conflicting reports on JSS motion rulings:

From Beth Karas:
12:24 Argument in court — jury is at lunch. There are a number of pending motions in limine that haven’t been ruled on yet. Judge wants to know if any of them will affect this afternoon’s witness. Dr. Horn will testify tomorrow. Judge will grant defense motions re smuggling contraband, change in counsel, and threats against trial participants and lacking remorse. (**)12:18 Martinez discusses expert Robert Geffner–a domestic violence expert … Nurmi objects, moves for mistrial, sidebar. Lunch recess until 1:45. Jury leaves. Argument on the objection.

** But Jen TrialDiaries says:

Jen's Trial Diaries ‏@TrialDiariesJ 1m1 minute ago
Other motions to b dealt w/ are- lacking remorse, threaten trial participants, change of counsel, smuggle of contraband #jodiarias #3TVArias

RBBM

I'm a bit fuzzy due to a new medication I am trying. I apologize in advance if my post seems a bit dim.
If I understand the BBM portion correctly; JSS is not going to permit Martinez to include this evidence in his opening statement?
Why?
I'm concerned that the jury won't be able to hear testimony or evidence clearly showing her lack of remorse.
At the time of this post I'm not even certain if Juan has completed his OS.
TIA for any clarification.

Do any of you know if the Alexander Family is in the courtroom today??
