I thought JM was going to have the father of the nine year old that TA accidentally sent the email to be on the stand. Maybe the father just sent in an affidavit HA HA.

So far from i'm reading, JA pushed a virus to TAs laptop on May 27 at 11:35 pm.

If so, that makes it one day after the gun was stolen.

Wow! Where did you get this confirmation? I believe it, but haven't seen it verified.

So...the word 'cockroaches' is now a racial slur? Somebody please explain how. I must be out of the loop or something.............

IMO, you're probably right. Frankly, I was hoping Det. Smith would have more to offer because, IMO, the PT might have teased out some more damning evidence (about JA) from her broken hard drive. More lies and intrusive behaviors, proof of “fraudulent” emails “from TA” (written by JA), … maybe even evidence she DID plant *advertiser censored*.

What caught my eye were tweets during JM’s cross of Det. Smith:

Kiefer:
Martinez: wasn't Smith working on other drives related to case? Yes. And he was interviewed by defense, though he doesn't remember when

Jen
In beginning of case Smith was working on other drives and it took a lot of his time
As a result of that he provided an interview to the defense sometime in Dec 2014

BBM. Were there any "other" drives in this case aside from JA's? I know her external drive was wiped clean and her laptop drive was busted, but a contracting company WAS able to restore some of the data from the busted laptop IIRC. Why would Det Smith be doing further analysis of JA's drive if it were not to gain more proof of her lies and manipulations?

RBBM I'm missing so much... I don't remember this. Can you please refresh my memory?

Sorry, I'm so demanding tonight.

I don't get why noone will ask the simple question of whether any of these "hits" could have been generated by remote access and if so, is there a way to tell.

I am hoping Dworkin can clear that up.

I think there is the issue of computer tampering that Juan would still like to address for the jury. I think he should. Leave no stone unturned. Probably won't take long. I think it's inportant. That's a pretty lofty accusation lobbed towards him.
Yes, towards him and the Mesa Police.

Yeah we wouldn't want any repetition in testimony would we? Except for when you call the same crew as in you did previously and repeat 98% of what they said then, which was already 90% repetitive. That's different.

Does he truly not know how ludicrous his arguments are, in that he has done/is doing the very same things he accuses? Exception being JM's requests are actually relevant!

The problem with that is that anyone he brings in gets exposed to the DT's slime highway. Anything they have ever said or done gets trotted out to the jury too. It can easily turn into a big muddy mess. Lots of his friends have their own skeletons in the closet. Or have done questionable media interviews. Or have made offhand comments about TA that could be misconstrued or twisted.

I don't think Juan wanted to take any chances. He just wants to finish this trial before the jurors start dropping out. JMO

True! I didn't think of that. Thanks.

Geff and MF must have speaking engagements more important than a death penalty trial?

They've both been on the witness list this entire trial, aware they would testify again, be subject to recall. Until trial's over, they make themselves available, imo. I hope JSS makes that clear to them.

We know that Jodi used Matt McCartney's computer or Darryl's computer on June 3, 2008 to check her email. They should request those computers to check any emails or other comments written by Jodi using those computers. Matt and Darryl would mess their pants up if Maricopa County deputies gave them search warrants for their computers this week. I wouldn't be surprised if there was something on Bobby's computer written BEFORE she was arrested asking him to lie for her.

She can't find Bobby. He finally managed to get far away (in Hawaii, I think). Jane Valez Mitchell did find him, according to her book, and he wants no part of any of this. And certainly nothing to do with her.

No problem. If you go to post #226 in the Sidebar, the tweets are there. It's right at the beginning of JM's redirect (I said "cross" ... oops) of Det. Smith.

Oh WAIT!!! You meant the restoration of data on JA's drive? WEEEeeell, I believe Dworkin addressed this during his first day of testimony during the guilt phase. (Please don't ask me what Trial Day ... It would have just before JA took the stand; maybe Day 11?) Can't remember if the State also addressed this. LD said the Mesa PD sent the drive to a specialty company; that company was able to retrieve a portion of the drive (can't remember how much); but the portion of the drive that held the master directories was ruined. Therefore the data was jumbled up and difficult to reconstruct in a readable manner.

Now ... I'm pulling this all from memory. So just shoot me if I'm wrong!

Here are real lyrics to "La Cucaracha".

La cucaracha, la cucaracha
Ya no puede caminar
Porque no tiene, porque le falta
Marijuana que fumar.

(The cockroach, the cockroach
Now he can't go traveling
Because he doesn't have, because he lacks
Marijuana to smoke.)

How does Nurmi get 'racial slur' from that?

Hope, I really do pray you are right about this. I didn't see the trial. Only read the tweets. The jury is a collective group of rational people. The crime was horrific. But the defense has battered them with horror stories of Travis. The defense got away with it. JSS did her part in assisting the defense in some strange ways. Juan seems tired. We will see. I know he has other cases to fight for. I think the jury needs to know who Travis was and how much he was loved. I disagree with someone who said Deanna brought that in. she was trashed too. The jury will remember all those things the defense said and no one has countered it in detail. IMO. If she gets life, this will be why.

You know, at this point, will that really make a difference? I have been following this trial from the beginning and at this point even I don't remember exactly what has been testified to, since the early stages of this retrial, imagine how the jurors are feeling.

I think time is of the essence at this point and i really believe that Juan must think this too. This has gone on waaaay too long. Those questions the other day were disconcerting, to say the least, I think Juan is making important, relevant points and wants it to now get in the hands of the 12 people who will decide... before that is too late.

Whatever it was, that prompted the individual questioning of the jurors and wether or not that was a factor- we may never know- but he has done his job and it is time for this to end.

Jodi Ann has already been convicted of first degree, premeditated murder, with specialty circumstances, I think Juan knows the longer he goes, the more witnesses he brings in, the more convoluted it could become. This jury is probably hanging by a thread- time wise.

I think the individual questioning may have had to do with who could actually hang in there- realistically- for another month or so. If this ends because the jury pool dwindles to less than 12, what will any of this have been for?

Naught- that's what- and I really, really believe this has been the aim of the defense- all along.

Juan wants to actually have a shot at the death penalty- if this drags on he almost positively won't even get that chance.

We must have faith- he knows what he is doing- it is what it is.

I just want to see it get to the jury. I want her GONE- her defense team, her mitigation specialist and her private eyes.

Who knows what that 'new' PI is digging for now? We can sure guess... I want this OVER, I bet Travis family does too...

Nurmi doesn't want Jodi's comments released in the closed chamber meeting about her testifying #jodiarias #3tvarias

Ok I got it wrong, I think. Nurmi was objecting to Jodi's comments about why she wasn't testifying.

So now I'm wondering: were these regular juror questions or were they jurors who were just wondering why Jodi wasn't testifying anymore and if/when she'd be back?

"Splits" was another...all these came from the history.dat file #jodiarias #3tvarias

god help anyone who looked at my laptop like this :floorlaugh:

That (doing the splits) was one of Jodi's listed *goals*. How interesting!

Thanks! Trial by Tweet is awful. WHICH disks? What were the questions? Did they say? Or did the Twitter reporters just not type it out?
