Encore beaucoup d'activité aérienne autour de l'Ukraine. Ici, un avion ravitailleur américaine près de la frontière. Les USA collaborent à distance...

Still a lot of air activity around Ukraine. Here, an American tanker plane near the border. The United States collaborates remotely...

Thank you to all my fellow WS members who have taken their time and been so kind to answer my question regards making the interpretation of Chinas 5 bullet point press release, easier to understand their position. I truly appreciate you all thank you
Angleterre

Hauntingly beautiful @BitofHope
I often have a moan about the internet and speed of information, especially when false information, Is quickly dispersed to the masses. But I have to say that IMOO as much as it can still be a stumbling block in this world of Putins vengeance and cyber attacks are likely, I also want to thank my lucky stars that because we are all connected worldwide ( most countries anyway) , that collectively, we can make a positive difference and contribute to the brakes being applied to Putins March into not just Kiev but the prospect of other countries and ultimately WW111
We are more connected and well informed than ever before and although oft that can be worrying in itself, I am choosing to look at this as positively as one can and say to myself that we are far more educated than ever about world affairs and we are on the best footing that the WEST has ever seen with our allied partners and because of these relationships and the internet / World Wide Web and journalism connecting us to each other like never before (and certainly nothing like this was in place during 1939-1945 ) then we have a fighting chance collectively to prevent WW111
Even to the point of trade sanctions and freezing bank accounts and if necessary, restricting access to the financial payments system ( is it SWIFT or called something similar), and stopping import and exports and financial handouts and targeting partners of Putin etc
We hopefully can make a difference and be in a far better position than ever before, to prevent an all out 3rd world war. But we must continue to be robust in our approach and try to have dialogue so as not to push Putin towards using his nuclear, thermogenic and other erstwhile weapons that he has alluded to.
Thank you for sharing such a poignant piece @Bit of hope and reminding us of what once was that we hope never to see again ❤️♥️

Thank you sweet @Angleterre we are all touched with this..young and old...from all around...love and light for you and your loved ones.

A step in the right direction or just sidestepping the Russian elephant in the room? - Big news in the UK

BUT: In his statement to announce the change, Abramovich made no mention of the war in Ukraine and did not condemn the actions of Russia president Vladimir Putin, which could lead to more calls from MPs for him to face sanctions.

HE IS NOT CONFRONTING OR DISPARAGING PUTIN IN ANY WAY

Roman Abramovich sensationally gives up control of Chelsea in shock statement

It's not like Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich has sold the club and left the UK. Let's be very clear: He is not disparaging Putin or the invasion or saying anything that could put him in harms way.

It really would be better if he was kicked out of the UK and banned from his banks and properties. But I guess that would be too traumatic for Chelsea football

NATO Response Force activated for first time | CNN Politics

For the first time, the NATO Response Force has been activated as a defensive measure in response to Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

NATO Supreme Allied Commander Gen. Tod Wolters activated the multinational force consisting of land, air, sea and special operations forces from the allies that can deploy quickly in support of the NATO alliance.
The activation of the response troops does not mean that any US or NATO troops will go into Ukraine, which is not a member. US President Joe Biden has been clear that US troops are deploying to eastern Europe to help bolster NATO countries nervous about Russia's aggressive actions, and they will not be fighting in Ukraine.

I think we need some German people right here, right now...I'm sure there are German WS members......
As per @PommyMommy post above on this page, at least the Germans have agreed to assist now which is all that matters :
QUOTING @PommyMommy
The German government says it will supply 1,000 anti-tank and 500 Stinger antiaircraft missiles to bolster Ukraine’s defenses in the face of an unprovoked onslaught by Russian forces, in a significant shift in Berlin’s policy regarding the war.

Germany also said on February 26 that it would allow the Netherlands to ship hundreds of German-made anti-tank weapons to Ukraine.

To be really honest...I have to go to bed....but I'm so very scared about the news when I wake up. Please keep standing Kiev.....love to all the people of the Ukraine...it's so hard to imagine what they are going through...

They really need a coup in Russia. Their leader is bringing down their country. This reminds me of an old Tom Clancy book I read, years ago..."Red Storm Rising". Fiction or real? How strange.

I know this much, you couldn't pay me to go to Europe right now.

It's not like Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich has sold the club and left the UK. The turning Chelsea football over to a charity sounds very fishy, but it is a small step in the right direction.

Is this a way for him to not have it seized by Putin when he needs funds ? Or seized under sanctions by UN? I don’t understand his reasoning. What am I missing? He MUST benefit in some ways……

Japan, EU arrange additional LNG supplies to Europe over Ukraine (kyodonews.net)
Japan is discussing with the European Union about coordinating further diversion of part of its liquefied natural gas imports to Europe, government sources said Saturday, as the region faces the threat of Russia restricting its gas exports.

[...]

Russia accounts for around 40 percent of European imports of LNG, putting the continent in a highly vulnerable position. There is mounting concern that Russia could cut its gas supply to retaliate for international sanctions triggered by its invasion of Ukraine since Thursday.

Glad Germany's pitching in. Just about to fire off emails to Senator Warner and Kaine and a few others.
If they can't help out, with equipment, the US supplied, sitting on US bases, then we, the US need to move our resource and bases. MOO... We've supported Germany for years. (article posted above)

All my opinion ...

Abramovich did not mention the war in his statement.

Abramovich will still own the club but control of activities will go to the trustees.

Russia To Pay For Putin's Ukraine Invasion With Higher Inflation, Weaker Ruble, Slower Growth (rferl.org)
The Kremlin's February 24 invasion -- and expectations of severe sanctions response by the West -- drove economists to slash their economic growth forecasts for Russia. The developments also pushed investors to dump their Russian stock and bonds, triggering the biggest one-day stock market decline in the nation's history and sending the ruble to a record low.

Glad that they are pinching in too. Better late then never right? Still disappointed of their late and rather weak response. Cmon Germany!

A very kind thing to do, giving up supplies meant for their homeland to others in greater need and hardship.
