Items recovered during search for missing Ballarat woman Samantha Murphy not related to case

Police say items recovered during a search of bushland near the home of missing Ballarat East woman Samantha Murphy are not related to her whereabouts.

Emergency service vehicles temporarily blocked an entrance to the Woowookarung Regional Park across the road from her home.

Police would not confirm whether the items located belonged to Ms Murphy, however a Crime Scene Services vehicle had been seen in the area.

"The items will be assessed to determine if they are relevant to the investigation," a statement read.

It’s the same forest and was renamed several years ago.

7news has just updated this, and now they have reported that the items they found are NOT related to Samantha.
