Great post actually. I simply cannot believe that JB is allowed to give a witness a 100 page document and not tell him where to go as a reference point. He just makes the witness shuffle through the entire thing. It is maddening to me.

Not only making the witness swim in a 100 page document with no help locating the pertinent areas which caused who knows how much wasted time (also didn't notice the prosecution beforehand), but what I found really incredible was watching the judge print out and climb under his desk for 3 copies he printed out for the DT, only to have JB turn his back on the judge and start yakking to someone else. Never said Thank you to the judge!!! He climbed under his desk for them for God's sake!!!!!

I have no words!!!

Last night I couldn't sleep so I was watching the testimony of Dr. Vass again. I guess I was punch drunk (ok...I had a BIG glass of wine ) because at one point I got to laughing so hard tears were rolling down my cheeks and I had to replay it about 3 times.

It's when JB starts questioning AV about his "sniffer machine" patent. How he could possibly receive financial gain in the future from it. JA stands and objects, HHJP...clearly already exasperated by JB's nonsensical questions & JA's having to object to them, says "overruled" and turns to AV and says "you can answer the question...if you understand it", and then an already exhausted AV (exhausted from TRYING to answer nonsense questions! lol) says...."I do NOT understand the question!" .............lol lol lol :floorlaugh:
OMG...it still makes me laugh!! At that moment it just seemed like no one in the courtroom could understand JB's questions - except JB and he just wasn't realizing that. IDK...I just could not stop laughing.

After he responded back to her he affectionately grabbed her arm......she then did the same to him before walking away. I watched many court proceedings and found that unusual in such a serious case to feel they had to touch each other after discussing whatever they were discussing.:twocents:

Baez even had the nerve to say, Judge, I disagree...His Honor said, unfortunaely I don't, move on...how many times did he have to be told this is about methodology and it's acceptance...look in the four corners of your motion...that could be done during your CIC on cross....Baez is definately out of his league...he really needs to find a better profession, this one doesn't work for him...and this proves to me, he's using ICA's case as a stepping stone to become DP qualified...he might just shoot his own foot..JMHO

First let me say that I am a HHBP devotee, I simply LOVE the man and I marvel at his knowledge, he has the ability to at times finish the attys sentences when they are referring to different legal matters. That being said, what I observed today and in the last few hearings, the way the defense team Jose and Chaney have been acting and some of the things coming out of their mouths, I find reprehensible. If I were a taxpayer in the state of Florida, I would be on the telephone to my elected officials. This trial is disgraceful and Jose's attitute and unprofessionalism is appaling. This is a trial about a child's death (murder to be exact) and he has the audacity to sit and smirk. This is serious and the people of Fla are paying for you to sit and "act the fool" on their dime,you are truly wasteing the courts time and money and JB thinks i'ts "cute". I am not putting all the blame on HHBP but he must reign Jose and Chaney in. This case is being seen through out the world, is this what we want people to think our legal system looks like in real life.? I know some people have said that he will "reign" them in at trial,well I think they need to start practicing professional legal manners in the court room before this turns into a circus. JMHO:banghead::maddening:

HHJP's role is beyond demanding, requiring him to ensure everything is done to the letter of the law in order to avoid appeal. I trust that he has top notch colleagues he discusses the case with, and gets their input.

I fully sympathize with his predicament. AZLawyer has said, more than once I believe, that JB may be [an usual person] but he is not incompetent. He stealthily skirts on the edge of what is proper and acceptable (has crossed over, IMO) so HHJP needs to constantly "babysit" and "educate" him, while at the same time, referee the skirmishes that result from the DT's [unusualness.] The HJ must be exhausted by now. Sometimes I think Cindy or Casey is directing this entire debacle (i.e., the defense.)

I have a feeling we are going to see a tougher HHJP in upcoming hearings.

All JB did was create hostile witnesses (and a hostile judge, hostile opposing council, hostile co-council, a hostile gallery (well OK CA was pretty hostile beforehand so maybe not JB's fault)).

He's delusional. Green, so green. Even the SA has to guide him through proper procedure. He's the kind of pompous newbie that the real seasoned attys, detectives, judges etc. just despise, imo.

She does not have much physical contact with people. No family hugs, her attorneys cannot touch her in any way at the jail so the one opportunity she has sitting so close to him she will continue to reach out to him as a form of comfort. I think as things progress and we get deeper and deeper into the trial she will be reaching out to him even more until she is told to stop. jmo

Seems to me Jose's strategy is to disparage, discredit, and mock whichever witness he is questioning for the purpose of unsettling them so they will lose their composure and flub up on the stand. When the dog handler first took the stand, Jose asked him "What kind of dog handler are you?" The DH replied "A good one." To which Jose replied (with his signature smirk) "Well we're going to find out." JB's treatment of this man was a disgrace, IMO. When he asked him "What did the dog say?" I believe it was to mock this man, who had an apparent love and rapport with his dog. Many posters commented that Jose doesn't even have an elementary understanding of dogs, let alone a grasp of their use in forensics. I fully concur.

CA manipulated the outcome of that test since she gave the FBI a shared hairbrush from ICA and Caylee and not Caylee's exclusive hairbrush or that test would have been positive death band on Caylee's hair. Either way, since ICA is alive, that hair could only belong to Caylee...

Junk science for the state but it's not junk science for the defense when they used touch DNA...since it came back no male DNA, it won't cause a ruckus since it won't be used. Had it come back with some male DNA would the DT still call it "junk science"?

Is it "junk science" that CA felt the need to send a teddy of Caylee's to an alleged psychic but not give TM/TES and article of Caylees' for in her mind they weren't looking for a 'live' Caylee and TM came to her under false pretenses...NOT...he was there to aid in trying to find Caylee dead or alive, preferably alive but it was already too late...

They each belong together for they are all hypocrits...just as when Baez accused Dr. Vass of making money using his labrador patent with LE to aid them in finding decomposing bodies but his client selling Caylee's photos/vids wasn't??? Didn't he profit from that??? again, I say HYPOCRITS...JMHO

I think we'll see more PDA between ICA and her attorneys during the trial.

I've posted before about my friend's husband who was murdered. The killer's attorney coddled him throughout the trial. He was constantly putting his arm around him, touching him, stroking him, etc. It's all an act for the jurors as if to say, see...look, I can touch him, I like him, he's not this evil monster the prosecution is trying to portray.

My friend sat thru every hearing just a few feet from the killer. If that wasn't bad enough, she had to put up with with that swarmy lawyer. It's disgusting the way lawyers try and manipulate the jurors. I have no doubt if this lawyer and his client were strangers on the street, the lawyer would have gotten as far away from him as he could.

I was watching the end of the hearing on that great new youtube channel that is uploading them and he hits her affectionately on the arm and he hits her back. (or vice versa). I thought really? I might have wanted to slug him, not love tap him.

Jose Angel Baez, Esquire was attempting to conduct inquiry into OTHER scientific matters by channeling LKB by referring to a HUGE 3-ring binder at the podium.......now, based on what I've :innocent: had the opportunity to witness/experience/observe previously, the 3-ring binder is a LKB (she "favors" white & light blue ones!) "modus operandi" BUT JAB could NOT pronounce the terms NOR produce "ex temp" follow-up questions!
