Noticed on my drive in this morning... we've had a ton of flooding around here. Roads to some places are still under water, water levels all over are high, there's water where there shouldn't be, etc. But the water was significantly lower today. Just made me wonder if water/flooding didn't play a role somehow. I wouldn't usually worry about a creek or small body of water but it could have gotten much higher. I just think back to Maddox Ritch, where everyone was so convinced of one outcome, and it turned out to be another.

Yes, severity varies & surgical treatment is controversial. We know nothing about Faye’s situation other than she has the condition. I don’t think it has any relevance to this case. Jmho Ankyloglossia - Wikipedia
Well it was relevant enough to mention, otherwise we would not know. Moo
If she’s alive, and someone runs across her, it is a very helpful clue. Moo

Yep- what I said early on. If an abduction occurred & hair & clothes were changed, her speech would be a clue for sure. She will sound as though she has a hearing impairment. But LE thinks no indication of abduction, so until that changes, not really important to the case. Jmo

I think every detail in all cases to be of utmost importance.

Here's what we know on #FayeSwetlik case

A neighbor whose son rides the bus with Faye told a WIS-TV reporter she saw her get off the bus around 2:50 p.m. near the mailboxes and walk about 30 yards with her mom home.
Police say Faye got off the school bus and was last seen around 3:45 p.m.
Family reported her missing around 5 p.m.
Cayce Department of Public Safety posted to Facebook about Faye missing at 6:05 p.m.

BBM and snipped.

We don't know that she was last seen at 3:45 pm. Whoever reported that could be lying to cover themselves. Unless it's from camera footage. There's no distinction between "her family member says" and "we saw this on camera" so I'm inclined to be skeptical about this time.

The neighbor, who has no reason to lie, said 2:50 pm. So that's the last true sighting of Faye, IMHO.

Well..the reporter does say "Police say..." So who really knows who last saw and her and if she was seen around 3:45.

The yellow tape diagonally across the door on the left duplex, is that Faye's residence?
And why that yellow tape?

Because if it turns out she has been abducted LE always takes precautions, and the home location of any possible abduction becomes the initial crime scene. There can be several crime scenes in any case. The abduction site. Where the victim was taken, and if killed and put elsewhere LE could have 3 crime scenes in total.

We have seen the crime scene tape put up in most all cases where a victim went missing from whether it's an adult or child.

LE also has to preserve any evidence that may be inside of Fayes home.

Although I dont get the impression in this case LE thinks any of the parents or boyfriend are involved in her disappearance.

If it was an abduction LE would have said more . We still cant rule out that she was lured by a local resident in that development . Another possibility is Faye wandered off but if it's not in her past history of outside playtime then that can be ruled out. Have a strong feeling she knew the person (s) . No one reported a screaming child... JMO

True. Police have said multiple times in at least 3 pressers last seen 3:45- so guessing they confirmed that through other sources? Other than that all we have is reporter stating the other parent saw Faye get off the bus at 2:50, which is consistent with the district published stop time of 2:51. So the abduction window is either 2:55-4:45 or 3:45-4:45. Mo

But they towed cars from the family home.

LE is saying no evidence of abduction. It appears Faye's house is taped up and cars towed......

I noticed LE specifically said. 'No evidence of an abduction AT THIS TIME.

Imo, they are playing all of this very close to their vest. Rightfully so.

Keeps the suspect off guard, and thinking LE doesn't have the evidence to believe an abduction has taken place.

Imo, LE knows Faye just didnt walk off somewhere.

I worked for social services in the past before I start teaching again and I'll tell you you meet some interesting ppl that ask for assistance. I can see how a parent would get frustrated when a child needs extra support in school or overcoming a disability in regards to milestones that are not being developed. Perhaps an adult just lost their patience that afternoon and it was a fatal mistake. JMO

I’m wondering about the crime scene tape across front and back doors ... why exactly? Gannon’s house didn’t have crime scene tape ... and family was still staying there.

I think the difference in Gannon's case is LE has video of him leaving his home with his stepmom, and he never returned.

They did get a SW to search the home though didnt they? I thought LE was seen carrying out evidence from his home, but I may be mistaken, and it was another case.

Unfortunately, these events are mostly caused from a family member or a known friend rather than a stranger. JMO
Oh, I know. If she suffered from in home abuse, was she able to convey to anyone, a bus driver, teacher, relative?
It is moo F was more vulnerable if she has a speech impediment.

If LE felt there was an abduction or even that Faye's last location prior to going missing was in her yard/porch, wouldn't crime scene tape be around the porch/yard vs. the front door of the home?

I don't know what type of insurance she had, but most private pay insurances would have/will paid/pay for a tongue tie clip with an ENT as an infant and SC medicaid would have/still would pay for a tongue tie clip in the outpatient OR with an ENT. Additionally, she could have paid out of pocket for either the tongue tie clip or a laser with a pediatric dentist (500.00 is the cost with one dentist in SC, but obviously that's a lot of money) MOO None of that is pertinent to her missing, though.
One of my children is tongue tied and my pediatrician and ENT won’t clip her since she nursed well. When she was older she just did some therapy to stretch it and now that she is a teen she is fine. Little speech impediment and can’t play some instruments or touch her tongue to her nose, which we often joke about. On the other hand my son was very tied, the “string” went to the tip of his tongue and above, the ent put him under general anesthesia as a newborn and used a lazor to clip his.
Had nothing to do with insurance or money both times. We went with what doctors suggested and did get second opinions both times. We don’t know her medial history or what the doctors recommend
