Agree with you. According to how the police report is written, TE called the date prior to going to PTL. Then they go look around and then LE calls the roommate at some point. Then LE says he can't positively identify who the date is. I am all kinds of confused. Regardless, I think he was very full of fear when he arrived.

It was stated somewhere that the roommate was the one who facilitated the call between TE and the date. She gave one of them the other one's number. So IMO the call to the date more than likely occurred after he came back from PTL. I do not think he made any calls to any friends before he arrived at PTL. I think the officer arrived, TE grabbed keys and they headed on the very short drive to PTL.

That is not what the police report says. I have been looking around before I saw your post. I will keep looking. If you find something to say difference than the police report, can you post it? Thanks.

I am pretty sure I have read all the articles as they appeared and I do not recall that LE told TE to wear gloves...I mean, does everyone just happen to carry gloves around in MB? That would be a weird statement, for sure. JMO

im probably late saying this but le would have disposable gloves.

Maybe the gloves were LE's(part of a evidence kit) ,to be worn in case of evidence transfers...jmo..I couldn't see TE bringing them(unless, like you say people have them in the glovebox just in case) or this just came to me..maybe he had them in the trunk with the spare tire ,so you wouldn't get your hands dirty changing tires(I've heard of people doing this).

Down here in SC, we're having one of the coldest winters that we've seen in quite a while. If it gets to the 40's here, we bring out the coats, gloves, scarves, whatever. We ain't use to this. And we're sitting here waiting for a snow/ice storm to arrive at the moment. It was 64 degrees yesterday.

  • Most LE that I know carry gloves in their vehicle.
  • As a member of a HazMat and CERT team, I carry a box of latex gloves in my vehicle.
  • A lot of people put a pair or two in the trunk to keep their hands clean should then need to change a tire or replenish fluids while traveling.
  • TE's profession is a printer. IMO, he surely uses gloves regularly to keep ink off his hands.

It's no stretch of the imagination to think LE or TE would have gloves. And I seem to recall from the early MSM article that TE said he chose to wear gloves himself.

The poster says, "her car was DISCOVERED abandoned on 12/17." It shouldn't matter when she was last seen or last seen it, it only matters when it was discovered abandoned.

Sorry, I'm new here. I have read all the threads and decided to create a profile. Go easy on me please. Her car was actually discovered abandoned 12/19.

I apologize. This has been addressed already. Dumb newbee!! I should have finished ready this thread before commenting. Bare with me. :)

The report was written at 11:10pm from, I assume a series of notes the officer had. He states facts in the beginning going chronologically. Then right before he starts talking about the date he prefaces it with, it was learned . . .
He does not state when he obtained that information, just that it was learned in his investigation before 11:10 when he wrote the report.

Welcome! No need to apologize. There are thousands of posts. It is impossible to go through all of them AND remember everything you read! And then weeks later still remember.

But, yes, her car was discovered on the 19th and the poster says the 17th. Why? It remains it mystery.

I hope you find the board easy and enjoyable. Hope to see more of you!

Police reports are done, as you said in chronologically order as the events occurred. It starts out with him finding the car, going to the house, TE talking to the date and then them going to PTL, and so on. If the call with the date occurred after TE was at home, the report would be out of order. Police reports are done in order, unless this officer decided to do this one out of order.

So you think TE called the date before he left for the landing? Or on the way?
If your facts are correct, and it is bound in chronological order then this must be because this information was provided chronologically in the police report before TE unlocked the door to HE car.

I will agree to disagree here :)

Eta: I did not say police reports are done in chronological order I stated this one starts out chronologically, just wanted to be clear because I do not think this was written chronologically.

<snipped>

Although the date is someone HE reportedly attended high school with, I think it would be very odd for TE to have his number readily available. IMO, he would need to get that number from someone else -- like BW.

As a father, I would not be interested in making calls to dates or roommates if my daughter's car was found, I couldn't reach her cell and I had not seen her in at least 48 hours. I would be on the way to the car, to verify it was hers, to check out its condition, etc. Calls would happen afterward.

For those of you who live/d in MB, what is the most publicized case (by local media) in MB history? Not just missing person cases, any type of crime.

ETA: I am just curious because people have said local media doesn't want to affect tourism, is bad at reporting the news, so I am wondering if there's been a case that they did cover more extensively.

I tried thinking back and the two similar type news stories that stick out to me are BD and Baby Boy Horry. Someone else
said the wildfires and yes. Those were... awful. Lasted long, pretty wide spread, scary... at that time I lived in Wilmington and we had smoke in the air up there from them. (1hr drive away edge to edge.)

I am pretty sure I have read all the articles as they appeared and I do not recall that LE told TE to wear gloves...I mean, does everyone just happen to carry gloves around in MB? That would be a weird statement, for sure. JMO

After Thanksgiving I started carrying a pair of gloves in my purse. 3 reasons:

1) Sometimes I am working outside unexpectedly for a few hours, and;

2) The weather can change in a blink. Yesterday it was 60+, today we're all sitting around waiting on a snow/ice storm.

3) If my hands and/or feet get cold I'm done. Right now I'm wearing 2 pairs of socks lol.

So it's not unheard of to carry them. Especially when the weather is so wonky.

I agree with you. In the police report it states that TE spoke to the date and LE spoke to the roommate, which is why I am going off of this. I also would have the same concerns as you, but not everyone is the same. Maybe he was so desperate to speak to the last person who saw his daughter, he called her. He stated that he received a text message of his daughter driving stick shift. The picture wasn't taken with her phone, as hers was in her lap. Maybe she had the date send it. Or not.

I responded to the above location, in reference to a suspicious vehicle that was parked at the Peachtree boat landing. Upon my arrival, I observed a vehicle, that was bearing SC registration CPC254, sitting in the parking lot of the boat landing. Upon running the SC license plate, I responded to entity 1's address (father of the victim), who stated that it was his car and that his daughter drives the vehicle all the time. Entity 1 stated that he last heard from his daughter on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at approximately 2243 hours, via text message. Entity 1 stated that the victim text him a picture of her learning how to drive a manual drive vehicle.
It was learned that the victim was to have a date with entity 2 on the evening of December 17th. Entity 1 spoke to Entity 2, who stated that he picked the victim up at her residence at approximately 1900 hours on that date. Entity 2 stated that they went to dinner, went looking at Christmas lights, and then to the parking lot of Inlet Square
Mall, to teach her to drive a manual drive vehicle. Entity 2 stated that he then took the victim back to her residence at approximately 0200-0230 hours, and that she went inside the apartment and that her vehicle was in the driveway.

(new paragraph)
I escorted Entity 1 to the boat landing, and he opened the vehicle (which is registered to him). I located two receipts inside the front passenger area of the vehicle, that were dated for December 17th…..

I agree that the position in the police report of the above bolded statement was in an odd location. I don't believe that this meant all of these calls happened before they went to the landing though. I believe that "it was learned" is referring to the phone calls later that evening or next morning by TE, BW & SS. It was my understanding that Terry contacted BW and she gave him SS's number and info.

At time of this report, I have been unable to positively identify entities 2 and 5. According to the victim's employer, victim is supposed to work tomorrow, December 20th @ 1600. I will pass this information on to oncoming shifts, and have them follow-up to she if she shows up for work. At this time, Victim has been entered NCIC, listed as Missing, with corresponding NIC # M141740921

I'm thinking the officer is saying he hasn't personally seen entity 2 or 5 yet (with ID) but is using the info he was given by TE and by others over the phone to enter info into the report at this time.:twocents:

Thoughts?

My thoughts are that is the order of how things were done. The reason I feel this way is because it states arrived at car, went to TE, details about date, went to ptl, and so on.... If it didnt occur in this order, I think the info on the date would have been omitted there and included at the bottom or elsewhere. The report was entered at 11pm 12/19 and closed 4:50am 12/20, so that gives a very small window for all of the phone calls to have occurred after the fact. That is why I think they occurred during. If you think about it, police showed up around 7ish. Not sure when they arrived at PTL. But, I think it is more likely that he spoke to the date at this time, than between 11-4am. I have personal police reports here and looked at them from being a victim. They typically write them in the order things occur, as a reference. That is how they are taught to write them here. Maybe it is different in MB. So, I should say, that our local LE writes their police reports in order of how things occur. So, if it happened here, I would conclude the call came first before going to PTL.
