It sounds like the condition of the home may have resulted from a combination of:

TM spending so much time on SM, writing so many comments and replies under so many names

Paranoia and fear of everything caving in around them

Depression about the house of cards crashing down and the perfect picture being destroyed.

Possibly guilt eating away at them.

Seems they (it's his house too) really let their house go...seems alos that Tammy let herself go. Judging from her pictures...I wonder if her weight gan was recent...?

For the first time, I'm starting to wonder about substance abuse issues (alcohol or drugs.)

Unsanitary conditions can be an indicator of addiction, although admittedly, in lieu of a substance addiction, Tammy or Sidney could have other mental issues, perhaps?

EDIT: Is it just me, or is rotting food being left out/unlivable bedrooms - that's pretty weird JMO. Not being insulting, I'm genuinely wondering: Who lives in squalor unnecessarily? Thoughts on why this would happen?

Naw, that doesn't point to alcohol or drug abuse, imo.
Hundreds of thousands of people in the US who hoard or who live in filth are just nasty....and lazy, I left out lazy.

Hoarding would easily fit with all of her other issues. Also, the red face may have been rosasia which is a skin condition which may be affected by environmental conditions. In an early photo, I noticed what looked like a ringworm on one family members wrist. Unkempt hair, in photos, was prevalent too.

I noticed the redness on her cheeks. Def looks like rosacea which can be treated with meds and good make up.

In this video it does mention that there were a couple of mattresses in the master bedroom, which possibly could have come from the other bedrooms?
IMOO.

i really think they took refuge here, who the heck knows, maybe they were going to go out with guns blazing. just think if they weren't asleep and were holding out there ready to fight LE. oh what a horror i don't want to think of.

knowing this i don't think the M's will get bail.

With exception of their staircase and remodeled bathroom (which I bet aren't real) I've not seen any pic of inside their home. That seems unusual for someone who is a photographer and takes as many pics as she does. Maybe they needed an outdoor kitchen because the inside one was always dirty. Sm had to grill and cook. Look at the arial pics: pretty from the front to all outsiders then you see that back lot that looks like sanford and son junkyard. I think their life was that also. These actions by these people are symptoms of a sickness inside. Imo

Drinking/drugs? Maybe... the rosacea tm has can be made worse by drinking. A purple nose is a common thing on severe alcoholics.

Good point about the appearance of the home's front compared with the appearance of the back.

just a thought: could the guns in the home point to evidence that LE stated they found in the house as being probable cause for murder?

wondering if LE have the M's on surveillance videos with possession of a gun leading up to the kidnap or after everything went down?

ETA: i'm not saying they murdered Heather with a gun, but maybe used it to kidnap her or prevent her from leaving PTL.

IMO I don't think it had anything to do with guilt eating away at them. If so, they had it within their power to assuage the guilt and talk to someone but they didn't and they still haven't. I don't see guilt looming over these two. I do agree that too much time was probably spent on social media. It seems Tammy needed to know exactly what everyone else knew and/or was thinking at all times and she also needed to taunt the E family and play victim to their "harrassment" of her and her family--that's exhausting!
It didn't seem to be paranoia eating these two either. I think TM felt she was bigger than all of this and untouchable because she was so much smarter than everyone else. SM may have too, I just can't get a solid grasp on who he is.
I tend to believe that the Ms feared TE and his "mob" as they called it. I believe they took his veiled and not so veiled threats to heart and knew one day he would come looking for them. At the time they were arrested TE got pretty quiet after being very vocal on social media. It had to unnerve them. It's very telling when your whole family is asleep in the same room with multiple firearms. If they didn't feel safe prior to the arrest they should be very fearful of what may occur if they are released on the newer charges. All JMO

Someone please help I read somewhere that TM and SM own house in Charleston, SC and cannot find the info when I need it. <modsnip>

I've never seen that they have property in Charleston.

:tantrum: I have been worried about those animals since they were arrested. I hope they are being taken care of!! :(

Confession: During an extreme bout of depression, my house became a wreck. It was sad, and I had no energy to do anything about it. I don't think most people want to live that way, but mental illness can be a demon. I do know of people that live that way, and two are hoarders and it doesn't bother them at all. I was ashamed, and didn't want visitors. :(

I am so with you on this. My husband passed away unexpectedly when he was 47. It put me in a depressive state that I thought would never end. It started out with our bedroom, where I started piling clothes on his side of the bed and continued until there were boxes and bags of "stuff" stacked everywhere. I hated what was happening, but couldn't find a way to escape. Not that I think TM's behavior is excusable, but on top of her other issues the infidelity probably pushed her over the edge.

I've seen two marriages that the house went to pot. I mean shockenly bad too. Clean homes then marriage was ending. Splat.

TM was po'd. She called him stupid. I think it started a long time ago though.

Someone please help I read somewhere that TM and SM own house in Charleston, SC and cannot find the info when I need it. Will someone send it to me please?

I recall seeing a post about a whitepages? listing that showed A SM living in Summerville, SC. the listing also shows 'lived in' North Charleston, SC. Could that be what you are thinking of? :seeya:

Eta: Travelbug...I am very sorry for your loss and that rough time you went through after his death. *hugs*

It occurred to me the fact that "all 5 were asleep in the master bedroom" may be a telling fact. The arrest and booking information indicate that TM was arrested immediately at the home. However, SM was arrested "later and at a different location". IMO that means perhaps SM was allowed to stay with the children until DSS arrived or escort them to a safe location. If that happened then maybe LE already views TM as the primary perp.

I just have to say that everyone has different levels of comfort with how their house is. I've been in houses so clean you could eat off the floor, and the people who lived there had diagnosed OCD. You also could not be comfortable in their house, put down a drink, eat an entire meal without someone sweeping up under you during the meal, so that doesn't mean clean is better. I have a friend who is a clutterbug. She picks up her clutter and cleans under it, but her house always looks like a bomb went off in it. A clean bomb. Then there is our house. I'd better make sure I never get arrested for anything in my house. There's always a chance that the loaf of bread that no one has touched in a week is starting to mold in the bread box. Some loaves last longer than others, and we don't eat bread every day. If we have bacon sandwiches for dinner, sometimes the bacon grease is still hot when we go to bed and doesn't get dumped until the next morning (we often don't eat until 10PM). If the dishwasher is running and was full, there will be a stack of dirty dishes next to the sink. And if it just so happens that it's the day before we clean the 3 X 5 foot three level cage with five guinea pigs, it's pretty disgusting. To top it all off, there is often some kind of science experiment on the counter in our house(we still have a beetle that lived for over a year that was a science project that is in a box waiting to be buried), or in the fridge (the skull made out of clay sitting in the fridge during a heat wave is a classic). And then other days we look like everybody else. It'd just be embarrassing to get caught on one of our bad days.

This is not to say that the Moorer's house might not have been over the top, but the whole family being in one room under the circumstances-not weird to me. Guns being out due to the circumstances-not weird to me. Food rotting on the counter-that depends on how long and how much was there. A single half a sandwich that had only been there since the night before-not a big deal. A weeks worth of stuff with maggots-that's something else. And everyone has their own version of what an "unlivable" room looks like. (Again, my clutterbug friend's children's rooms drove me insane, but didn't bother her or her family at all.) My child's robot project in a box on the kitchen table for a week might be another person's squalor. All JMO. But I don't like a spotless house. I like one where you can put your feet up on the furniture.

IMHO - your house should be clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to be happy.

Everyone has their own comfort level with dirt and clutter. Seems like the M's may have spent some time on things other than cleaning of their house - their focus may have been elsewhere. That being said, evidence should have been easy to obtain if they were that sloppy and unfocused.

I, too, have been wondering why there was a significant lapse in time between the bookings of TM and SM...

Seems to me, too, that TM was taken in first for her significance in the crime... And that SM was taken in after the children were settled with DSS...

I also wonder if LE thought they could get more information out of SM without TM around...

JMO
