I HAD forgotten that.Don't forget the momentary ruling by the coroner that it was a shooting death.......
IMO, I could see manufacturing a story of SS hit by a passing truck as more feasible and potentially valuable to personality types who might commoditize people and events for insurance-settlement-worth. Then, just need to locate some poor ignorant and politically weak person who might feasibly have been driving a truck in that area that night owned by a company with deep pockets insurance-wise.
I vaguely remember reports that an individual called authorities or was urged to call authorities about rumors he'd heard about his stepson being involved in an accident that night. I do not remember hearing what he was supposedly driving.
I also vaguely remember reports that a member of PMPED and also of the Murdaugh family called SS's mother offering legal services if she wanted to sue. In her grief and wisdom in keeping her distance from the kind of folk who pounce on such situations for personal gain, SS's mother refused.
But what would a manufactured story of a shooting gain for those who commoditize people and events for insurance-settlement-worth? At best, such a fabricated story would only serve to point the finger away from others who might otherwise be suspected (such as individuals acquainted with SS who didn't trust him to keep the nature of their acquaintance quiet). Valuable, but not pocket-lining valuable.
I suppose a reasonable person familiar with the facts revealed in this story to date might speculate that the manufacturing of the story was occurring over time, with the profit-making potential driving the imagination of the authors and those who serve them.
The extent of corrupted power known in this story so far is sickening. Truly handshake with the devil kind of evil, preying on the good who enter their orbit.
