That whole "guilted" me conversation is hilarious, because she keeps saying TA would likely have been safe if she had been there with him. And now she's guilted 'cos she wasn't there.

No doubt the shoe was on the other foot, and she was constantly doing the "guiting".

Where does this "to guilt" verb come from anyway? Some teenage lovesick romance?

Actually, Travis did do a fair amount of "guilting" of most of his women friends. Some of it was semi-joking, much of it wouldn't have felt OK to any recipient, IMO. The worst of the lot was his threatening to kill himself in texts sent to CL when she didn't drop everything, including taking care of her child, to drive over an hour in the middle of the night to see him.

I don't believe he tried to make her feel guilty on June 2, of course, because she never told him she was coming because she knew he never wanted to see her again.

Wow.. sorry, I would prefer to private message but I'll just say, hopefully they were thorough with their report.. Sometimes these people are not even sober, that's aggravating enough... but I got a chill you say full speed, I imagine somewhere in between that and top speed..

Driver's side and the other guy goes off? Fault laws aside... I'd have half a mind to come down there with an officer and personally ask for that bastards auto insurance information!

Good luck to you..

The police never showed up. My DH called 911-twice, and still nothing. There weren't any murders or big bad situations that night, so part of me thinks the main reason why no cops showed up is because of where the accident happened- a very bad part of town, where folks there have complained for years about lack of police response.

My DH drives through that part of town because it is a shorter commute. After the other night I think he's convinced saving a few minutes driving time isn't worth the possible consequences. Even though his car was totaled, I feel nothing but gratitude and relief that nothing worse happened, especially given that raging driver and DH having to sit, exposed, in his crippled car for close to an hour, pointlessly waiting for police to come.

Frightening! Very glad that he is OK.

My mom just lost her car in arson a little over a week ago! People are NUTS!

I don't believe he was in a club, nor sent her that text; on the spliced-together tape he referred to people as A-holes because their idea of fun was getting drunk, he's not likely to surround himself with a room full of those kind of people.

I'd be willing to bet in every single thing Travis ever sent over the net you can trace the IP back to him, no proxy obfuscation, but I'd bet dearly the same can't be said for Arias. And if any proxy-site hunting had ever been done on his computer before the morning of his murder (by a guy who couldn't figure out how to upload pics to his own website, no less) we can be sure the defense would have been all over it.

On this topic, it's kinda funny how she kicks off her 36 page "manifesto."

First paragraph in, she says she's writing it because she's alarmed the TV interviews she's sat for might be.....edited, lol. That she can't trust how the tapes might be "spliced" and edited and her words twisted, so she's gonna write it all out, so the fascinated masses will know the whole truth.

Thanks. Can't understand why anyone would want to burn up your mother's car?

Nuts, or too many peeps just very angry?

That's interesting. I wasn't aware of TA's guilting texts. Do we have any evidence he guilted Jodi, though? In a text?

Yes, a few times, but not very often, not very intensely, likely in response to manipulative games she played with him almost daily, and not once that I can recall after she finally and at long last was forced to leave Mesa.

??

There's a difference between the ongoing and sensationalized media over-saturation of All Things Arias, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, the discussions here (and elsewhere) of the legal and psychological aspects of the crime and subsequent trials.

Avoid what you can avoid, tune-out what you can't avoid, but the historical record of this criminal and her crimes must remain intact. There is much to be learned here about many subjects: varieties of abnormal psychology, criminal justice, court case management, and law, just to name a few. These are inherently worthy topics for discussion and research, no less so because they might involve Jodi Arias.

I agree, totally. Some crimes are just ripe for sleuthing and always will be...Arias is one. JonBenet is another. When you think about it, it can be highly beneficial to society to get to a point where some types of criminal minds are better understood.

The criminal mind will always be studied in hopes of getting to where we can prevent certain acts from occurring...from senseless slaughters like Travis and Caylee to school shootings, bombings in public places such as what occurred in Boston.

It would be tragic if we were to bury our heads in the sand and consider a crime no longer relevant simply because it has been solved. We as a society cannot just pretend there are no other perpetrators waiting for their opportunity to strike.

IMO.

The text record for Feb 2008. I noticed something for the first time. There are no records of out going texts by Travis (just incoming) for part of 2/18 all the way through most of 2/25.

What's also interesting is that on 2/25, (no outgoing texts still) the INCOMING texts by the killer are all marked as in the "Archive" folder, the only texts I've seen in that folder for any month.

More interesting still is the topic of the texts. They were sent by the killer while she was in Las Vegas with Gus, or on her way back from there(I never believe her about where she says she is at any given time).

The texts are about not stopping to take photos of Hoover Dam, with her "yelling" back at Travis, and about her telling Travis she knows he pleasured himself while they were talking.

I looked up what the "archive" folder means. In general, it is NOT where deleted texts go, rather, one has to manually transfer texts into the folder in order to save them there. Curious, eh?

BTW, looking up the archive thing I stumbled upon the easiest way she could have had ongoing access to all his texts. All she needed is access to his phone for a few minutes, to go into it, and to select an option to have all his texts backed up to a GMail account. Any GMail acct. Such as hers. She could select to have all the existing texts forwarded to her GMail and/or could select the feature to have all future texts automatically forwarded yo her Gmail account.

Unless Travis checked his phone settings, he'd never know.

Oh wow, that sure answers how she could read all of his texts without him knowing. Weird about that span of time without any outgoing text by him, think she deleted those (but why would she archive hers?)? Very strange. Very good find, Hope.

No doubt her keepers were a wee bit annoyed to have to deal with so many folks calling them asking what the hay. :D

No doubt when she emerges from this smackdown she'll tell her tweeter to relay she needed some down time anyway from all the exhausting adulation she receives.

She just can't help herself. Yay.

What does lockdown mean? No going outside in a cage? No meals with other max inmates? No visitors?

Does it mean serious restrictions, enough to have any impact to speak of?

And does anyone know how long this alleged lockdown will be in effect?

I am not sure why I care, other than hanging on to what little hope I have that imprisonment in Perryville has its unpleasant moments.

Wow, wow, wow....

I still don't get the implications of the Archive folder, but clearly something is different about that batch of texts. Really interesting that TA doesn't have any texts left for a whole week. If Jodi diverted all of his texts to her GMail, could she have deleted TA's texts before they made it to the intended recipient?

Since she kept inserting herself into his life when he was interacting with other people, she'd have had to be "listening in" on his text messages with like, no lunch breaks.

Also, I realized JA was in Las Vegas, but I didn't quite take in that while with Gus, she had a dry run (even if only in reverse) for her escape route from Mesa, and plenty of material to weave into a story for EF.

Don't you think Jodi's "pleasuring himself" vocabulary is absurd? This is language for someone who would blush at the word "masturbation" as though it is "unseemly." Jodi talks about anal sex but needs a euphemism for masturbation? In a chat with someone she says she's "intimate" with? Come again? (Pun intended.) How Victorian and ALV-ish can you get?

Where does she get this rediculous language? A Barbara Cartland knock-off?

Wikisaurus synonyms https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Wikisaurus:masturbate Bwahahaha! Thirty! Who'da thought?

Jodi is just so not cutting edge, so uninventive....

On the subject of sex.....I always thought it hilarious the way EF handled the language of sexual activity in his interrogation of Jodi. He's being frank and straightforward and unembroidered, and she was all acting coy and breathy. Just so....NOT!

Woohoo! :woohoo:

But question: What would lock-down mean if she was already in solitary? No more visits, no more phone calls? Maybe a move to a different cell in different surroundings, so she's extra-uncomfortable?

I guess that means her rewards program status can't be reviewed for an extra 6 months.....

Of course.....I had to do some research! I'm sure LinTX could give us more definitive information, though.

https://corrections.az.gov/sites/default/files/policies/800/0803uu.pdf

I'm thinking Infraction 25B or 36B, Attachment A, page 6; otherwise a "phone" (12C) infraction, but i have a feeling they'll hit her way harder than this.

Penalties are on Attachment B. Grid here:

Thanks. Researching things like this makes me dizzy, LOL. I never know where to look or what key words to use. Do we know what class her infraction is? Or did you (or anyone) post that and it went over my head? Wouldn't be the first time that has happened :/

I bet she's buried until after JM's book comes out....
