The memorials of a lot of famous people have been televised, not to say that Caylee is a celebrity, but there were no cries in those cases about it being disrespectful or of dishonoring the deceased. I think it's a wonderful tribute to little Caylee that so many people want to "be there" if only through their television sets to say goodbye to this sweet little angel.

There is a difference between the public memorial and the private funeral. People seem to be confusing the two on this thread.

I want to pay tribute to her and see and feel some closure. The memorial I think will be good for all of us, we can finally grieve properly and say a final Goodbye to Caylee and pray she now rests. The funeral should be private as I believe it will be. :blowkiss:

tbh, I probably won't watch it unless I'm free that day. I'm assuming it will be a couple hours? I really don't think any national channel will air this. This isn't the inauguration, ya know. They will probably air little snippets on HNN and that's all I'll see of it.

On NG last night K. Belich said that only one local media crew will be allowed to film the memorial, and one was chosen to be the pool crew for all the other media. It will be televised and shown online. I'm assuming that it will be televised locally, and those who don't live there can watch it online.

When asked if Casey is going to be allowed to watch the service, KB said that Casey is allowed one hour of television a day, and it would be dependent on if other prisoners were watching as Casey is kept in protective custody.

I'll post here what I posted on the other thread because I'm vehemently opposed to a televised broadcast of Caylee's memorial. In fact, I'm opposed to anything that contributes to the exploitation of this poor child, including the public memorial, itself.

Memorials are for the living, which in this case will include about 4990 perfect strangers, of whom 200 will attend in hopes of making themselves feel better; the other 4690 will be compelled to attend by curiosity or some other personal agenda. Anyone who truly cares about Caylee's memory will not want to risk having it sullied by the spectacle that this so-called memorial will surely prove to be.

Are we so selfish that we cannot allow this beautiful little girl to at long last rest in peace?

And you're mistaken, butwhatif. I will not watch.

Yes it is selfish for me to want to be a part of saying goodbye to Caylee . I want to be part of the positive energy that sends her off to finally rest in peace . I'm not tuning in to see a standoff between CA and LP, or any other drama that could, but hopefully wont happen.

I want to hear about Caylee, and what she did in her short time on this earth. What was the cheekiest thing she used to do. The cutest. Did she ever sneak the scissors and give herself a haircut? Did she pretend she was a mermaid when she was in the bath? Did she like drawing pictures or coloring them? Who was her favourite 'wigggle'?

Like you said, funerals/memorials are for the living, so its always a selfish thing ...that doesnt stop us from attending funerals for people who made an impact on our lives. We do it for closure and to let them know that they were important and special and loved. And Caylee was all of those things.

If there is even a hint of a circus like atmosphere, I would tune out, and watch the flame of her candle burning instead while I say a prayer for her, because I want to be a part of something postive for her.
I really respect your choice to stand by what you believe in. And I'm sure caylee appreciates you looking out for her.:blowkiss:

They should keep it quiet and under wraps. No spectacle. I find it tacky that they would think of videotaping this...it's not a freaking wedding, it's a memorial service.

Just another act to the circus.
I won't attend the funeral for that very reason. Its another performance starring Cindy & George. I think it is tacky that the Anthonys reserve the right to refuse entry to certain people. Some people are allowed to grieve at their roadside attraction, but not others. I anticipate the "drive-way protesters" will attend creating a diversion in the parking lot. They'll wear tank tops and flip-flops and do something to get themselves televised. I hope there are less than 100 people in that mammoth church which seats 5,000. Cindy and George did nothing to find Caylee, obstructed those who did search, and I honestly suspect they didn't want her to be found since finding Caylee might implicate Casey.
I'm not going.

If they are worrying about all this security, why go through with a 5,000 seat church and ceremony?

What a travesty? checking people? .... throwing people out? Hiring guards? Oh, yeah, your typical mourning for the deceased. That poor child!

Control FREAK till the end....Cindy will never stop...those who thinks so are wishful thinkers. This ceremoney should be halted or the Anthonys should not be allowed in. They are the ones that would cause a problem. Perhaps they should watch from home.

Great post!

If you ask me, this memorial service isn't for Caylee at all, it is for KC. It will be videotaped, so KC can see it. People will be searched before entering for cameras, etc. No one will be allowed to take photos and I will bet there will be no media cameras allowed. I am sure someone is brokering the rights to the video which will be the property of CA and GA.

But, they will have a grieving family, a crowd of mourners, lots of moving testimony, songs and poems. Everyone will weep. And KC will finally have show of emotion - on tape. It is an attempt to humanize KC because she has become the monster darling of the media.

The thought that anyone would sell memorabilia, collect donations or recruit new associates at the memorial service makes me want to puke. The thought that the media would roll cameras in the church makes me cringe at the complete absence of decorum and dignity.

Is nothing private? I can not respect anything other than a private funeral and interrment. It is the sad end of a beautiful life. Caylee has been memorialized since July 15th. It is time to lay her to rest.

I may be alone in my thinking, but it's JMHO.

You've got it so right!

Hate to say it, but in this day & age, you prolly need 'security' when you open any doors for 5000 people to gather......passing thru metal detectors, even common in schools nowdays.......

If I heard correctly this church, even has their own security....

"Control FREAK" Cindy cannot please everyone, no matter what she does...

but if you feel the "Anthonys should not be allowed in" for their own granddaughters memorial.......makes me think you too want to be in 'control'.

Excuse me that is not what was said last night on NG....from the transcript,

NATISHA LANCE, NANCY GRACE PRODUCER, ON LOCATION FROM TOT MOM JAIL: They are, Nancy. This is a huge church. They have their own video facility. As a matter of fact, they`re going to be the ones providing the pool for all of the local media out here. So

Out to Kathi Belich of WFTV, you`re the one who broke the story regarding Jose Baez attempting to sell the images of little Caylee. What about it? Would the video of the memorial be sold? Is it going to be broadcast?

KATHI BELICH, REPORTER, WFTV, COVERING STORY: It`s going to be broadcast. It`s going to be out there. I know our Web site is going to broadcast it live. So it will be out there. I don`t know anything about selling that video, but it will just be out there and people can freely record it themselves. So I don`t know who would pay for it.

So it's the church taping it or a 'media pool', for ALL media to televise, if they choose to...nothing has been sold.

.... IF I saw it on Nancy, it MUST be true!....

just teasing!:drink:

I don't mean to be disrespectful, but how do you jump to that conclusion? She says it's going to be broadcast, and therefore the video won't be worth anything. How do you get "it's the church taping" or that "nothing has been sold" from what KB said???

I really don't think they will get anywhere near 5000 people, but may be wrong. I base this on how many showed up to search for her, and they came from all over the country, and who knows if they would even feel welcome or want to go, given the way the As berated them for searching for her.

RK has never been thanked by the family, quite the opposite. So he sure won't be there, and I'd bet there are some in Orlando that aren't happy he was never thanked.

I think many will feel the service is going to be about the As, and about getting Casey off, and other than media, I don't think many will attend.

I haven't read through everything here, but with GA & CA officially coordinating Caylee's public memorial now instead of just the church flying solo, I wonder..are all the pictures scheduled to be played on the big screen going to depict pictures just Caylee? And if not, will they display any pictures with KC in them?

I remember in Lacey Peterson's memorial her parents omitted Scott's image from the collage (before he was convicted). Will the A's omit KC from the display to appease the majority who believe her to be guilty?

Many large churchs 'tape' today I'm assuming the church prolly has camera's
in the right places for the best shots......rather than the media coming in to set up their own cameras/lighting/sound equip...etc

Since ALL media can broadcast it, seems like ALL media would of had to pay for it, if money had changed hands.

ps...my post was to posters that said "'only one local media crew will be allowed to film the memorial,"......& the other implied this was "Sold to the highest bidder".

Of course not! They will do quite the opposite. And they will talk about how great a mom KC was at every opportunity. I think it will be like the vigils where they said people weren't welcome if they didn't support Casey.

I think you have misunderstood....there is a different between a tape and a live tv broadcast. If the event is broadcast live on tv, then a tape has no value, as anyone can DVR it.

Where do you get that "all media can broadcast it" and I still don't get how you can say the tv broadcast wasn't sold?

I don't think anyone has the right to video tape the memorial service unless the A's say they can.
I completely agree with the A's in regards to searching people and metal detectors. I also agree with them choosing who can and who can not go into the service.

Will there be a huge screen showing pics of dear Caylee with Casey?? I bet there will be. The "A's" won't let this opportunity pass to show their spawn as "mother of the year"....in fact, IMO, this is what this "memorial" is all about. It's about Casey. And it's shameless.

Live feeds happen at all presidential speeches, press conferences and press gaggles. Instead of having a couple hundred cameras there, one is chosen and the signal is shared by all the broadcasting stations.
