OMG the lawyers in the Seacat case...their voices are so boring, blah, lalalalalala. I hope Mr. Foreman realizes someday what a special talent Juan has.

No kidding! I've been following that a bit on WildAboutTrial and the only interesting part of it are his tweets. ;)

I'm sorry, I don't have anything meaningful to add about feeding them, but I did want to say I was thrilled to see one this year. So many years have gone by without seeing one, but last month there was a dark one flitting over the lawn, that I saw as I was standing in the kitchen doing dishes. Quite a delight!

The hummers are delightful.
You should see them fight at the feeders- they are funny little birds. I miss them when they leave in the Fall.

Thanks to all for your feedback. I'll go back to sugar and water. :seeya:

She's right in the middle of a maelstrom that goes along with being Michael Jackson's kid. She'll have a much better chance if she can escape that somehow, bless her heart, perhaps by moving to a more quiet location, away from Hollywood (I'm assuming she's in that type of environment, if not that exact city). :moo:

Doesn't Julia Roberts live over there in Arizona? I think it's so great she wanted to take her kids out of Hollywood. God knows she has enough money...probably has a VERY nice house in the country...But still most people would want more, more, more. I really admire her for that.

I've only used the concentrate (or bird koolaid as my grandson calls it, lol) but i was going to try to make my own.

One of our useful hurricane tips is to be sure to put hummingbird feeders out and fill them daily AFTER the storm because you will get over a dozen hummingbirds at a time eating from them because the storm has destroyed all their natural food sources. Seriously, it is amazing to see so many all day long in the days after the storms. They can deplete a feeder within hours!

Do a 4 cups water to 1 cup sugar mix if they don't like the concentrate. And make sure you clean the feeder if you get that gray matter showing up. Sometimes they just get used to a particular taste coming out of those tubes.

That is what we use and usually have a ton of hummers. This year we did not see any but saw other birds were coming, like the Oriels!
We are using the same feeders.

Trotters are pigs feet :)

Menudo! Yes, I like tripe in Menudo--never had it any other way.

Yeah right!! That's like saying you have a secret but not telling me! I had to look. GROSS!!!!!

I've never heard of those ringers!! Maybe that's what my son has because he's gotten 'caught' with his phone in class about five times this year.

Re: high pitched ringers ... here's info:

And ... here's where that high pitched sound was used as a sonic deterrent:

I like squid.

And mountain oysters.

And liver.

And heart.

And pig ears.

And trotters.

Just checking in :seeya:

Blech!! But you sound like my hubby. That man will eat anything. Grosses me out but if I don't have to touch it, see it, cook it or smell it than I'm happy cuz I don;t have to cook!

So the 55 guests on here...are they reading about our discussion on hummingbirds, weird gross foods, music videos, and other random tidbits?

Menudo for hangovers, Best stuff around! I sucked that stuff up Sunday mornings after destroying myself Friday and Saturday. I didn't know it had tripe in it for years. Needless to say, it was a shock!
And please realize folks, the drinking age in Arizona back then was 19, so getting into bars was easy when you were 16, or you knew how to alter your date of birth on you driver's license with a little piece of Zig Zag paper.

 All of a sudden, I feel pretty guilty about giving my kids a hard time when they were teenagers......my parents didn't have a clue what I was up to

BBM

I wouldn't even know where to even start on doing something like that. Guess I should venture out a bit and try new things...

I'm watching HLN and they're discussing some of the released sidebar transcripts

Addressing the issue of whether Travis told Jodi he wasted to kill himself, JM says "If I was married to Willmot I'd say I want to effin kill myself, that doesn't mean I really mean I'd kill myself."

good stuff
(maybe this is old news?)

Fluorescent lights!!! AURGH!! Mine is a direct effect of Panic Disorder. I have to wear sunglasses into places with them. If I haven't taken my Xanax on schedule, I get this urge to escape, just run away, I don't know where, I just have to LEAVE! A blue haired old lady with a cart full of silk roses does NOT know how close she was to having my cart up her a$$ years back, while I was in line at Walmart. The clerk was scanning each individual rose, like 30 of them, and THEY WERE ALL THE SAME!!!!! And I'm looking at the dark parking lot outside thinking "It's SAFE out there! RUN, RUN!"
I had to remember to breath, aurgh, I HATE when that happens! :banghead:
It's like the fluorescent lights scramble my thought processes

I've always had light sensitive eyes. Over the years, for instance, I have become more and more intolerant of brightly lit restaurants, the lights hurt my eyes and sometimes give me a headache. Every time we go in a restaurant I look around for the darkest table. If we can't find a place with lighting that doesn't bother me, I'll put on my sunglasses. Natural light is good though, in fact, if it's daytime and the restaurant has windows with natural light coming in, the lights don't bother me.

Though I don't get panic attacks from bright lighting, I am rather claustrophobic and sometimes do if I get caught in heavy crowds of people or feel boxed in.

I hate being that way, it makes life harder than it should be. I seriously can't help it though.
