Thank you, provider of great food pics! I must say, there is a lot of "WTH" in that article, such as:

Never forget that over 95% of all people incarcerated in the US are coming out and most in less than 5 years.

Why is that a WTH?

I don't know, it just hit me weird. Maybe I was having a brain freeze :blushing:. I guess I was thinking that it meant that, due to economic hard times, we were going to all of a sudden be letting masses of prisoners out. But, upon rereading it, it just looks like, well, probably the truth.

Thanks for asking! :seeya:

Are you guys listening to NG tonight? She said Arias might be headed for a mental facility.
WTH all of the sudden she is mentally ill. How convenient for her.
JC is saying she may not be competent to stand trial. Oh brother. GMAB
Andrea Yates attorney said BPD is a mitigating factor?

Hi Karraster.. I would love to hear more! I followed the Holloway disappearance very closely from day one. And like everybody else, absolutely despise that creepy JVDS. Please feel free to share more, whatever you feel is appropriate. The whole wire fraud thing is bizarre... surely he knew he would get busted for that. Or was he just so desperate to get money that he didn't care? What was he thinking?

In your opinion, what piece of information convinces you that he murdered NH? I think we all collectively believe that he did, but curious about your thoughts as you have had the opportunity to observe him closely.

Thanks :)

I think it was the summer of 2010, Beth T (mom) was escorted in a back door as she was so recognizable. She was the only witness, iirc, and I remember she didn't look at us once. Instead she concentrated on the details of her testimony and described how sloot had contacted her representative asking for money in exchange for the info of where NH was. He had been gambling heavily, living large and was broke. FBI got involved and when sloot wired the money into his account, busted. He murdered again before that issue could be brought to trial.

I was very impressed with the strength and resolve that Beth exuded. She was wearing jeans and a white shirt, no makeup, iirc, and more focused than I could possibly imagine. I have utmost respect for her and know she's been through hell and back.

Sorry, I don't remember in great detail, but there was numerous circumstantial evidence found, his dad had power over the authorities and they jumped through hoops for him, imo, and sloot lied every time he opened his mouth.

Of course, he never did tell the mother where her daughter was, all that was a lie too. I don't know how she is doing now, but I think she remarried after Twitty divorced her. She also was involved with helping other parents of missing children. I just loved her.

I saw this morning that Lifetime is going to be airing a movie on this case?? Seriously, Why?
?
Lifetime is in the business of making movies based on real events. They have made movies on other cases...Drew P, Scott P, Natalee Holloway

Annnnnd we know JC is the epitome of accurate info. I take what she says with a salt mine.
No, axis II is not a mitigating factor, but it wouldn't necessarily stop a DT from trying. AY's attorney knows better. Knows wayyyy better than anyone what real mental illness looks like as a mitigating factor.

I haven't really been watching, so I have to ask: What is NG basing that on? Seems CK wouldn't have a chance to get into a mental institution unless she threatens to kill herself, and then it would just be until it was deemed she was no longer a danger to herself. :jail:

Ugh, this picture of her finger really upsets me.

Does anyone know if there is a good one-stop-shop website with ALL case pictures? I'm talking crime scene, autopsy, and photos of Travis in life.

Help!

As well, I saw that <mod snip> Nurmi and Wilnott want to move the case to Jan. because there are holidays and other cases they have set for trial.

What are the chances the Judge will step up and tell them that because of the nature of the case etc., everyone will not get holidays and cases set up for trials will have to be postponed?

BBM Because they can and the US loves a scandelous story. I do not have Dish anymore so I won't be able to see the movie but my guess is that the movie will not be so forgiving toward the Mormon church. There are a lot of people in the US who have never heard of the Mormon/LDS church. I have met a few. Not to mention the Mormon church's involvement with Prop 8 in Calif. did not make that church popular. I might be wrong in my prediction. Sex sells here. How dare a church dicipline a grown man..something like that. :moo:

I looked on the IMDB site for "Dirty Little Secret" and found the following characters:

Pool Club Stud
Bartender
Morman (I think they meant MormOn)
Yoga Student

I don't remember hearing about any of these people during the trial. I wonder how true to life the movie will be.?? Never liked Lifetime when I did have TV.:moo:

I think she is getting the info from the guy that works with her with the funny voice. Don't know his name. I will listen more and see if I can find out.

This is why I am so upset that the jury did not come to an agreement and passed the buck. Because now, the defense is throwing everything and the kitchen sink at this, and Jodi may never go to prison at all.

With delays, mental hospitals, etc., there is a very real chance that Jodi is going to weasal out of this.

For example, lets say the new mental evaluation declares her unfit for next penalty phase. Well, there is a perfect way to then appeal the original decision, and she may get off of the whole thing.

All because the jury just could not come to a decision. They would have been better off deciding on Life instead of not deciding at all.

This is so upsetting. I am pizzzzzed. :banghead:

I hope that does not happen. I hope it can not happen. That would be a real tragedy. Having said that I agree, that the DF is going to try everything to avoid her getting death.

I think she is so upset because she got involved in wanting to testify.
It is her own fault. She put herself in that situation and should have known better. Now she has to suffer the consequences for being associated with Jodi.

All JMO
Absolutely. And even in this latest interview with JVM , you can still hear that she defends Jodi still to this day. Even though she is now trying to say she disagrees with what she did, you can hear the way she talks that she really is on Jodis side of this. The only reason she is trying to say otherwise is because of the public backlash that has happened due to her own statements and interviews.

She sympathises with Jodi and sides with her and you can hear it in the way she talks about her.

JVM put a lot of words in her mouth that she never said. Jane was trying to tell her how to denounce things, but none of that is what she actually said.
