For those that missed this.... it's got almost 3 million views in 24 hours so other agree with me that this was FABULOUS last night! Lady Gaga at the Academy Awards with a tribute to Julie Andrews.... I suggest to watch the entire thing... as the audience was surprised at the last 15 seconds. And growing up in that era, if you are my age :giggle: ... priceless that she sang it as Julie did as Julie can no longer sing like that after her vocal surgeries.

Lady Gaga was marvelous (love her hair color :) ) and Julie Andrews looked wonderful.

Thanks for posting :loveyou:as I didn't get to see the Academy Awards. :(

FYI The American Sniper trial was due for closing arguments yesterday, but it got shelved due to an ice storm in Dallas. They will probably be out of commission today as well.

For your amusement, I saw this story on the local (Austin) morning news a couple of days ago about a guy who has been on the Texas Supreme Court for 9-1/2 years. It is a riot. You don't think of these types of people as having a sense of humor.

I like him- he's funny :floorlaugh:

With any luck, my low-budget reboot of "King Kong" will sweep the #Oscars next year.

When your father is the BTK serial killer, forgiveness is not tidy

"Kerri Rawson spent the last 10 years coming to terms with learning that she was the daughter of the BTK serial killer. At times she felt hemmed in by his crimes, as though she had done something wrong--as though she too was a prisoner....

...In the end, Parker said, we are not our parents. We are who we are.
Kerri is not “the daughter of BTK,” Parker said.
She’s Kerri.
But Kerri herself didn’t entirely believe that...

Thank you! That made me cry. I have always loved Julie Andrews and who would have thought Lady Gaga would have done such a wonderful tribute to her.

Darn you, Y/N. I honestly have tears, really sobs, that won't stop leaking now, makes it hard to see to type. :tyou: Thank you for the video of Lady Gaga's tribute to Julie Andrews. I have never seen or heard her like that. It was very well done. I thought she might cry at the end.... and then came the beautiful Julie Andrews! I saw the movie on a special screen (cannot remember what it was called, something like cinematic panorama?). So long ago, but still crystal clear. Thanks so much for posting this.

I cannot imagine how you find all these things to post every day. I have lots to read this morning! I am anxious to get this show on the road today. I do hope it makes it all the way to the jury today. I don't think deliberations will take too long... a day or two tops. I just may feel a bit of a letdown when this is all over. I think I may need a bit of a break before I get this involved again.

Got new eyeglasses yesterday. They are a bit annoying... not sure they are adjusted right or if I see an clearer. Poo. I have too many vision troubles, this is aggravating. New exam, new glasses, I expect to see crystal clear! not .... working .... yet.

Today could be one of the main days in this long trial.

I hope the Jury gets the case and returns with a quick verdict.

Congratulations to everyone who stuck through this long trial.

I may have to miss a lot of today but I will surely check back at some point today.
I cant wait to see how today unfolds.

I honestly cannot believe we are almost at the end. WOW

Good Morning all. Still very busy at work. I really do not mind if I miss Kirk's or Jen's closing statements. I am sick of this poor loving fragile mentally ill girl; otherwise, know nas the killer to me.. I cannot believe we are so close.

She did really good. A few Oscars ago when Gaga was in that Egg I didnt take her seriously enough. She really is good singer.

Yes/No takes such good care of us!!! She is a treasure.

Good Morning WS Friends!

Can you believe this day has finally come?

We have been together a long time for Travis Alexander. Hundreds of trial hours over the past few years.

I'd like to hope the final days will go smoothly, but from experience we all know:

1) This is AZ. 2) This is a wacky DT. 3) This is a patronizing judge. 4) This is a jury reduced to 14 members. 5) This is Jodi Arias in charge.

I have a feeling there will be some drama in the final days.

Anyway, I am going to dig out my blue justice for Travis avatar. Hoping we'll have a sea of blue ribbons for closing and jury watch.

HUGS to everyone.

She finally got my respect! I so dislike a sideshow and can't imagine hiding that voice in a dress made of meat. She stole the show!

I guess my parents couldn't "afford" a wooden spoon. They used a belt, or a
high-light paddle ? << that's what they were called years ago anyway. It was flat wooden paddle with the small rubber ball attached at the center with elastic. The elastic was just stapled on however, and once that ball fell off, look out.

haha.... I never heard it called a high-light paddle, but I kept one on top of the fridge and would grab it with a threat of "you want this?" ..... I don't think they ever got a swat. Must have been the voice or the evil eye that worked? Sort of how the dogs are when I haul out the squirt bottle. Wonder if that would have worked with the kids

I loved playing with the paddle ball- I wasn't very good at it and the ball would eventually escape from the paddle after some use. :)
