Go ahead CJ. rant rave kick, scream. I did. Mine wasn't alcoholic but laid for 3 1/2 years unable to move anything but his eyes. He "spoke" with his eyes. Who says young people cant have a major stroke? Feb. 24th is the anniversary of his death.I hate this month. I still cry and hard! The only thing I asked God for in my youth, a family. He took them both back. Scream all you want,It's your right! My mom was alcoholic also. I could not cry when she passed, she was with Dad and happy at last. BUT a child is so different...(((hugs))).

We have found it very difficult to find a good home for many of our books. Some have gone to resale shops, some to a school counsellor, some to library sales. Hubby's war histories and books about planes/ships/tanks are too good to just toss, so we are always looking for a guy who has a similar interest. Many of those did sell at our yard sale. We still have at least six or seven huge bookcases filled. I would like to get it down to one .... fat chance.

I'm sure he's guilty, but I have a book written by a PI who investigated the case and alleges that it was OJ's son who committed the crime. He was a chef and carried around his own set of knives with him. He was "taken" with Nicole and very jealous and was very angry about something, I can't remember what. I'll have to see if I can find the book again , my memory is a little rusty on the details. I do remember it being an interesting read though.

No, I don't believe they ever tried me with antibiotics for that. I luckily don't get my stomach pains anymore that much. I will still occasionally get a mild stomach pain when I get too stressed out and then I just chew up a few Gaviscon antacid tablets which takes care of it. Which is why I think too much stomach acid for me was my main issue which ended up causing real sores on my stomach.

Back before I had found Gaviscon on my own some doctors thought for sure I had an ulcer which could have developed from having too much acid in my stomach. They even ran a scope down my throat to my stomach to look around and found sore spots on the lining of my stomach which made sense since that is what it felt like. Like knife sticking me in stomach. They were really bad at the time. I literally would bend over and had to stay in that position because it hurt too much to straighten out. So I would lay in a bed with knees pulled up to my chin to try to stop the pain. I would lay there for hours until the pain would somehow go away on its own.

Once I found the Antacid GAVISCON it was like a miracle cure for me as it neutralized the acidity in my stomach after about 30 minutes of taking it. But I would have to chew a lot of tablets. I would chew about 8 of them and it would cure it.

The really strange thing is no other Antacid tablets worked. It was so bizarre how other antacids did not help cure those pains. Something about Gaviscon was the only one that worked. Really bizarre as other types had similar ingredients. It didn't make a whole lot of sense but I wasn't asking any questions once I found something that worked.

I only get them now when I get really stressed out which makes sense because I think my stomach secretes more acid when under stress.

I luckily don't get them hardly at all anymore. Just mild ones every once in a while.


Also it was interesting that back then my Mom would tell me to drink milk and it would make it ten times worse. Which is how I finally learned I was also Lactose intolerant. The milk was the worse thing for my stomach pains as it made it worse. LOL

My mom was so frustrated as well as myself. She almost didn't believe me about the pains. I got them too often and no doctor was helping.

That's interesting, as a child I had stomach aches a lot and would have to lay down with a pillow under my stomach until it went away. I think now it was from milk. I don't drink milk at all now, and use very few dairy products.

I know it's unrelated, but right after we came back from Jamaica two years ago, I started having these strange stomach pains and and just felt a little under the weather, and I couldn't figure out why. Then it dawned on me that we had eaten a lot of jerk pork and jerk chicken down there. It was a place that was well known, but it's kind of a shack and their grills are outdoors and, well face it, they don't exactly have the same standards we have here in the states, if you know what I mean. And most of the food was very good... except for some ribs we got. They seemed under cooked and I didn't care for them but, well you know, I ate a little anyway.
So I remembered I had some anti-parasite pills I had ordered over the internet a few years ago and I started them and after a day the pains went away. I really believe I had parasites from that meat. :scared:

I know objectivity goes out the window in matters of addiction when it&#8217;s your own son because you love him no matter what. You/we have to learn to accept your/our own feelings of helplessness in addictions of any kind and the aftermath of those addictions.

Have you gone to Alanon to get help for yourself and your family?

Love yourself for being a good parent (and there is no doubt in my mind that you are). Parents truly do the best they can, but should not hold themselves accountable for the poor choices of their adult children. Once you become a parent, that role has no end point. However, the responsibilities of that role definitely shift over time as a child matures. They lessen, not expand. Loving yourself and accepting your limits will keep you from spiraling down as a result of your child's choices.

Of course, with the situation the way it is now with your son being very sick, all you can do now is leave it in the hands of whatever higher being you believe in and just pray for him. :sigh:

But I know I cannot help you in any way now- I will stop talking- my prayers are with you and your family.

Not so good... it's his heart. Now that he has "new" insurance (covered California), he looked to see if he can go back to his "old" heart specialist here in town instead going down the hill to Sacramento - he can!! And he got an appointment yesterday for this coming Monday!! He's happy about that - and surprised he got an appointment so quickly! He really wants to get that pacemaker! So hoping she can do something to make him feel better. He said he can't wait for the chemo shot, as it made him feel better. That's 1 week and 1/2 away...

This was taken in about 1947/48 in Norway by the fjords. He and my Mother got a "travel permit" from the Swedish government to travel to other countries around that time. They bought a wood carved picture, which I have here hanging on my wall. I'll see if I can take a picture of it - it's really neat!

Have an appointment at the DMV to get my registration tag for my little Fiat today! I like to get that tag in my hands, instead of sending in my payment!
