Hahaha, I didn't know we'd started. Nothing from News24. Thanks Prime.

Galloway taking Wyngaard through the next day when he found out about the incident. He was called at 1pm to go through footage.
Wyngaard says nothing suspicious was seen on camera footage of entire estate. 'Daar was niks' was his response.

Wyngaard says it's not possible to jump over electric fence as it's too high and the person will be shocked.

Prosecutor now sits down and defence advocate Combrink takes over.

Combrink opens cross examination by asking Wyngaard what time he left the estate to go home. Wyngaard says 7am.

Wyngaard has been asked 3 times now to slow down. He speaks very fast and in Afrikaans. Court struggling to keep up.

Wyngaard says they only test 15 zones every night (there are more than 40 zones) but they check other zones when they drive past.

Wyngaard says they fill any holes they might find under the fence with whatever is nearby-a big branch or rock-then they report it

Henri van Breda is taking notes and passes it on to his advocate #eNCA #VanBreda

Defence attempting to show any possible security weakness at De Zalze Estate whether it be human error or fence/alarm error.

Wyngaard now says it's very risky to jump over fence. He still says he does not think it's possible to jump over fence.

Combrink now adds that someone could jump over an electric fence with a non-conducting material. Wyngaard says he's never seen......anything like that in his entire life.

Adv Combrink wants to know if it's possible to jump over the electric fence if insulated #eNCA #VanBreda

Anthony Molyneaux‏ @AJGMolyneaux 4m4 minutes ago #VanBreda @TimesLIVE

Combrink insists that it could be possible to jump over fence without getting shocked by stepping on someone's shoulders.
Combrink now states that there was a break-in in 2014 at De Zalze and no one was ever caught.

(okay, 1 year before the murders, before the new alarm system and fencing?!)

Anthony Molyneaux‏ @AJGMolyneaux 4m4 minutes ago

Combrink states that since 2014 20 crimes were reported and nobody had been caught.

( I hope this is tested? Could it be from HvB's notes? :p )

Wyngaard says there was one person caught for stealing a wallet in July 2014.

Wyngaard says he can't comment on other crimes as he does not have the information. Combrink doesn't give any more info on this.
Combrink now moves back to the fence. Things obstructing it will set off alarm.
7,5km of fence is the area Wyngaard and Afrika are responsible for checking.

Wyngaard says there were NO complaints from residents on the night of the murders.

Judge Desai asks Combrink to show the court how two people get over the fence if they use material which won't let wires touch.

Pieter Botha says a house was broken into on De Zalze Estate in September 2014 and no one was arrested.

Combrink wants an admission from the witness that intruders scaled the fences. Isn't it enough that he's made the point, it's not impossible for intruders to break in, just very difficult.

Wyngaard says NO complaints came through from residents the night of the murders. Residents act as eyes and ears of the estate. <br>

Combrink says he will print out a better version for Wyngaard at tea. C now moves to photos of fence

Wyngaard or Afrika might have been misunderstood but this will most likely be tested by Combrink after tea. See ya'll in 15 mins.

Compared to the rest of his family's horrific injuries, Henri suffered minor injuries that were treated at the murder scene.

His mother was hit at least three times on the head, his father at least five times on the head and once across the back of his neck.

His brother was hit at least four times on the head and Marli also four times on the head and once across her jugular area below her left ear, where the photos reveal a gaping wound.

Henri, on the other hand, suffered razorblade-like cuts across his chest and a knife puncture wound in his left side.

Several thin slashes can be seen running across his bare chest and left forearm and a wound dressing is seen on his left side.

The attack was perpetrated with so much force that evidence of blood spatter was found on the boundary wall below the first-floor windows where the family massacre was carried out.

As a result of their initial interactions, and seeing Van Breda's wounds and those of his family, police began viewing him as a suspect.

But according to Van Breda's plea statement version, he escaped so lightly because of a series of deft unarmed combat moves.
