I think it's so rude of journos to just stop posting. I thought they were on an extended break. That's happened before. Sorry folks.

JJ, You're an absolute gem! Thank you for all the updates. I watch live at the same time but need your input as well.

Are you Okay, JJ?

Thanks L2L. No actually, I'm not. I have to have spinal surgery in the next 3 months. I'll take some medication and I'll be okay in 1/2 an hour. Today is just a bad day.

Any thoughts yet on what, if any, impact the doctor's evidence will have? He drones on and on! Can't see Desai being influenced .

Oh JJ, I'm so sorry to hear that! Will say a little prayer for you that all goes well. Do let us know.

To have 'spinal surgery' soon, you must be in so much pain.
Yet you are keeping us all 'up to date'.
Thanks again.

Your long needed rest is around the corner.

Indeed, tmar! JJ has gone way above the call of duty! I was nearly going to add "so to speak" to that but having listened to HvB use it at the end of nearly every sentence, I swear never to use the phrase again!

JJ.
Is this spinal problem, perhaps related to the Grenville Acident?

Interesting that Henri remembered it was dark before he lost his memory. When he came to it was light. But sunrise in Stellenbosch on 27th January is 06:01, and Henri called emergency services more than 80 minutes later. In his own version he said he called immediately.

The point isn't whether he may have regained consciousness when the sun rose at 6am or an hour later, but simply his inability to say when he regained consciousness - simply saying "when it was light" seems rather slippery, doesn't it?

Hi Spellz, what a lovely surprise to see you here. Welcome aboard.

Didn't he testify he remembered every detail of police interrogation/ I think I'm going crazy!! He went through his testimony word for word with Galloway and corrected dozens of what he called 'discrepancies'. Some were even 'malicious'!

I think we're all going crazy with this trial. I hope we're not heading for that cliff L2L.

Thanks. I can't afford the luxury of listening and posting the tweets but I do watch if I can. I can multi-task but triple-tasking is a step too far so I watch the video the next morning if I can.

Nup! You're heading for surgery definitely not the cliff, JJ! Desai not fooled by anyone or anything that's said now. He had Diddums summed up long ago

No, this is something different, but Granville isn't exactly helping the situation.

I'm hoping to find a good trial that will bring us all together again in the New Year. Hopefully Prime and/or someone else will be able to assist because I won't be able do the tweets.

I think so too.

I hope Galloway can provide some clarity on this. Family spokesman said a tumor was found on his brain in 2014 but disappeared after 3 months.

Looks like they're having another long lunch.

If you're lurking here Spellz, did you follow the Jessica Chambers trial? I'm totally gobsmacked at what happened with the verdict and doubt we'll ever see anything like that again. Absolutely unbelievable.

#VanBreda has myoclonus, the name given for his jerks and twitching.

VanBreda was oblivious to his myoclonus, the only one he chose from list of symptoms. Coincides with what was found on EEG, Dr Butler says.

Patients can have minor seizures that they fob off, or have minor or major ones in their sleep.

Compelling evidence #VanBreda had a seizure on night of murders - neurologist

Dr Butler says focal epilepsy has a warning. Lack of warning - as reported by #VanBreda - indicates generalised epilepsy rather than one that starts in one part of the brain.

IB, come home soon. We need you to comment.

In moments leading up to abrupt amnesia, #VanBreda's brain appears to have been working perfectly fine, Dr Butler says.

Dr Butler says it is very rare to see people malingering in private practice, more common in public hospitals where people want to benefit from social grants. Researched malingering and amnesia, literature doesn't indicate it being used post event.

When they tend to lie about amnesia, they tend to link period to the commission of offence, not period thereafter, Adv Botha asks? Correct, Dr Butler says.

Brain injury is not a reason for a loss of consciousness for 2 hours and 40 minutes, Dr Butler says. Disagrees with Dr Du Trevou's testimony.

Dr Butler explains the difference between loss of consciousness vs amnesia. Amnesia is loss of memory. Can still talk and walk around.

Grand mal seizure can last 2h40m, Dr Butler says. After seizure brain electric activity is flat. May be 3m seizure, followed by postictal state.

This is witness is starting to remind me of Olckers the way he rambles on. He obviously knows his subject very well but I just wish he’d get to the crux of the issue.
